No matter what happens, most of us will be upset, and they will have a bunch of more things to fix and will have to address those instead of adding new content. They are circling the bowl, and every patch just takes them deeper into the abyss.

If FPS goes down a step further in this patch, I won't be able to play ;) Worried...

Same. I'm forced to use long-ranged weapons now because brawling on certain maps is sure death at 8-10 fps. :P

I just dont understand all this fix FPS fix FPS maybe you should consider FIXING YOUR COMPUTER that is 5 years old. i personally know two people that play this game on amd phenom x4 processors with 4 gig of ram and a gt ti550 i mean thats a low in system to most people. I think walmart has a 599 desktop with a 21 inch monitor with those specs minus the video card which can be had on newegg for a whole 120 dollars so maybe just maybe its you not the game. I never ever see anything below 48 FPS with everything maxxed out

5 year old computers run most modern games better than a decent 2 year old rig runs MWO. It's a memory leak. There is an FPS bug that occurs after a series of matches that varies according to the amount of RAM in the system. In addition to that, the game just runs terrible. It has nothing to do with the age of someone's system. A decent 5 year old computer can run any DX9 game with ease. Even a DX10 game like Far Cry 2 or Crysis can run maxed on a 5 year old computer. When the people who are complaining are doing so because they have seen what their systems can run, & then they see MWO, they've already assertained (& rightfully so) that the system is NOT the problem. MWO is.

You didn't mention your specs, nor did you mention how many games in a row you or your friends play. Furthermore, I don't understand what's so hard for you to understand about the occurrence of an event just because you haven't experienced it. I can play the game OK, but it's performance is poor for what is actually occuring on screen & it keeps getting worse as time goes on, or after certain patches are released.

Ignoring the FPS bug, just in terms of general performance, the industry sets a standard, we all see it & we all see that MWO isn't even nipping at its heels. They might've been better off with Unreal Engine, but speculation of that sort is too late now to matter. Speculation about what Hawken will do to MWO's player base in 9 days might be worthy for discussion. Every session I've played since the A2 has been enough to slaughter MWO in terms of quality. It's still in CB & what I saw last night is more than enough to take "gamers" from MWO & keep them from coming back. Even with an ATI card on max settings & PhysX enabled it rips. The game looks like it should be harder on the system, but it's not. Hawken may not be the game for everyone, but neither is MW, & for the kind of person that is indifferent, & things like CTD, yellow screen, black screen, slideshows etc. are pushing their patience, MWO will transfuse them right into their competitor & be able to take money from those people because they are past the "wait & see" stage that MWO has had people in since OB with no end in sight.

You don't understand the FPS problems? Do you understand any of the others? Or are you a fanatical bull$h|tter?

I have a pretty nice computer and I had frame rate problems.

How I fixed it: I lowered the graphics and ran the game in window'd mode.

Now I have no problems with frame rate.

Funny, I seem to be getting better framerate since I upped my settings from medium to Ultra high. Doesn't even make sense to me, but I'll take it. Still will sometimes drop into the 20s though, but never 12 like I was getting before I upped all my settings.

If you spend a day fiddling with the settings you can usually find something that makes the game run well. Just takes a lot of time and testing.

I'm hoping for performance fixes...I lost at least 5 FPS in the last patch or 2....and I really needed that FPS.

Other then that...

The 3 health gauss nerf scares me.
Apparently gauss weren't exploding and they are fixing that....so I question the wisdom of making them super fragile before seeing how a properly working exploding rifle mechanic effects balance. Not like they haven't been burned before piling nerfs on top of fixes at the same time...Think they would learn their lesson.

I think the better fix (not that it actually needs one because gauss isn't OP), is up the heat to 2-3, and/or increase the refresh time by .10-.25...that would be plenty. That decreases Gauss dps, and limits how much you can fire other weapons with gauss consecutively. At that point you tell the gauss is OP crowd to S T F U from then on because they are already in the minority and the gun has been nerfed plenty.

Min range will ruin the weapon for many many people...It would be like PPC....only noobs and weirdos use them because min range makes it so un-fun to play ;)
(To be fair PPC has other issues, but min range is a killer for many of us...it should at least be shortened to 40-70m IMO...then I might use it...maybe.)

Make the gauss "very fragile"? I thought it was fragile enough already. I seem to lose it every other game.

Oh well...

Ok, so if we rip that out and stick in an AC10... that would save let's see....3 tons..... We could use that for mutter, mutter grumble.......

Thanks for posting this.

As for my wishlist, I really hope that this patch restores some performance that was lost recently. It's getting quite bad.

Also netcode. I know I always mention netcode, but one day they'll fix it, and the heavens will open in a display of radiant light, and a choir of cherubs shall descend from the sky as I hit a Jenner with an AC/20.

Stepping it up a little earlier to cut off any confusion about where/when/what to expect for this week's patch.

Some things to please bear in mind:

Server downtime typically begins around 10 am PST (1pm EST, 6 pm GMT)

Server downtime typically lasts about 2-3 hours. Forums will be down/unstable during this downtime. You may not be able to login.

Patch deployment comes after the downtime (approx 1pm PST, 4 pm EST, 9pm GMT)

Patch notes are typically not delivered until the patch deployment phase.

Patch Notes will be available here when they are ready:

http://mwomercs.com/game/patch-notes

Some items to expect in this week's patch: All items subject to change.

This is an informative What to Expect topic; If you disagree with any of the items slated to be included in this week's patch, this is not the place to make those complaints. Many topics already exist for that purpose.

Topic under construction: I'll be keeping my eye on new/updated items and adding/removing items as they are announced. One stop shopping for those of you without time to trawl the forum.

Ballistic speed increase and ballistic impulse increase for the AC-20 are planned but are not given any dates. http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__1514738

Maybe it will be added this week, I don't know!

Seems like my screen was shaking so much from SSRM fire for the past 2 weeks that I missed the part where Gauss became OP. Thing is already fragile enough, takes up almost 20 tons w ammo and actually requires you to aim. If there is any problem (which I doubt), it's the K2 and not the weapon itself. Whiners win again, Dragon/Hunchie pilots lose a valuable weapon choice.
