THis thread brings back memories.. but 1 thing I gotta say is

I hate when Ahriman Corps is ever called good..

They sucked! The best player on Ahriman Corps was a noob compared to the top players in units like Kaos and the guys I use to wing with.. Like EDGE, Ringwraith, Sakadur, etc (We had so many different units I can't even remember our last one. lol). The last unit I was running myself was TnG and our players KILLED those AC guys. AC was only considered good because they played on in game servers forever and never came out to play with the heavy hitters until late. It's easy to dominate the in game servers when 99% of the players are NOOBS.

Sorry.. I just had to get that off my chest. Same goes with Sancho and his little gang. That kid was horrible

Funny thing is I think I winged with every one of those guys besides.. maybe.. 2 or 3.

I do not believe Karnage belongs on that list though... and I know it's your list but Sancho was a punk and sucked.

Do you remember the other guys from SA.. like Trunks, Mavarick, Hammy, etc? Those are OLD SCHOOL guys. Good ole friends. I still talk to Mavarick.

The initial list misses at least TrendKill imho. And if BMC's over there scimi deserves some credit as well!

I missed a lot names and I'm just too lazy to constantly update my list based on a consensus exercise, haha. I never played with or against TrendKill but KAx seemed to enjoy a solid reputation for having good pilots IIRC. I know Scimi was good but I never played with him enough times to know how good he was. More than half that list is Crovax's and a lot of names on there that I never played with so I just took them on faith because it was a good starting point lol. I played a shitload of games with Crovax so I generally trust his selections for the people I never played with. There may be a few names on his list I'd question, but I won't say which ones. I'm sure anyone could do the same for some of mine (NeoThor, unsurprisingly, already has ). Maybe once I get enough vets in here with their picks I'll make a finalized list, but I'd need to see way more votes and nominations. Again, it's more important that you guys list your picks.

Anyone BDU (formerly {MG} in MW4).

NBT the guys that I always looked out for were Vulkani$, Viking (ran with him in MW2:Mercs days) and Twister (same as Viking). All were in CSA.

No one else's name ever really crossed my radar except for HEL Asmodeous, and not because he was any good just because he was a whiny ******. Not to take anything away from the other HEL guys, the majority of them were solid pilots and worked well together.

Trendkill was more than just a good pilot. He one of the happiest most well adjusted people I've ever played with. It was always a blast to have him in a drop, no matter which side. I truly wish he could be found and wrangled back into the franchise.... and Chronx with him.

Anyway enough of that ... here's my for real list in no particular order (nobody get bent out of shape dammit):

Kagemusha/Methos/Thadeus (Consistently 50/50 back and forth head to head with this butthead throughout our time in MW4. Which is really infuriating now that we live together. )
AceFlashheart (He trained me, and he's partly responsible for the play-to-win gamer I became. I have to give him credit.)
Leo Showers (How can Leo not be on the list, despite all his BS, his smart mouth, and his a$$hattery?)
No7 (Goes without saying.)
Suno-iki (The master of channeling cold rage into victory, and one I would always trust to watch my back.)
Gethsemane/Carnifex/Terrist/Avatar/etc. (The man of many names.)
Tyrant (Yeah, despite it all.)

Thats all I got for now...

No7 and Leo showers are very old wings of mine. Use to bs with them for years.

Well, this explains why I'm not on that list either.

If also unit suggestions are allowed I'd nominate RAGE.
They've been "only" a CTF unit but literally nothing could beat them, which granted them an awesome w/l record in MWL history.

Probably same for DS/eX, although they weren't really that awesome - it's been more their "cheesiness" imho.

list is pretty incomplete. guys like Slapahoe from HB, NeX, Fate (Fatality) from KAx - hazes brother were better than a third of peeps on that list. Another third I was better than and I was very mediocre. id say the list is half right half a joke.

for the post above mine RAGE lol I was on RAGE for CTF and yeah it was fun but it did eventually get boring.

I'd have to disagree with Slapahoe and Fatality..

Nex was damn good but very limited in the mech he always took Mk2/Nova .. and yes I agree better than half the people mentioned.

Fatality and Purplehaze were good at the beginning of Mechwarrior 4 and really good in Mechwarrior 3.. but as people got better with Mechwarrior 4 you could tell Fatality and Purplehaze were not as dominate as before. (Like they were in Mech3). Shortly after they stopped being so good they kinda disapeared

Most the guys mentioned were good friends of mine and wingmen.. plus above average players.

When I think of the best ever I think of people who could get the best of me or give me a very good run in a match.

Then you got people who shined as wingmen.. some who were very dominate players and some who were just very good tactical wingmen.

I'd go into battle with any of the following..

Foehammer
Baal
DD
Sakadur (personal friend)
Matty (German dude)

It's hard to make this list because you had players who were good in 1 or 2 mechs, players who were good in all mechs, players who were good in 1st person, some in 3rd person and then others who were good in all.

Most these players who were listed were very good in 3rd person but only average in 1st person.

Not everyone gets a msg like this..

Had some good times in TnG with Grey, Whitewolf, Mechpro, etc... good ole days. I'm pretty sure that was my last unit. Only one I ever ran in all those years of game play.

Well, I never threw it in anyone's face unless they talked huge and then last big. People like AC and FEAR, etc, etc who thought they were kings because they dominated in game matches.
