Well, obviously, it was me! ;)

The best players/teamates I ever had or played the MW4 game series..

EDGE
Ringwraith
Sakudar(aka Sak (hes on the VL awards board)I forget his other names)
KTV_Grey_Ghost that dude was a solid wingman. (Plus Mac and all those other foreigners) :(
Crovax
Leo
Xian (OLD School, been around since MW3)
Ninja (Aka NINA!!!) was badass too

Me, Ring and EDGE were the top 3 all around players to ever play MW4 and Mercs in my opinion. But I have some great memories with many good players. It was all about teamwork and anyone I played with either had teamwork or was sticking around long.

Oh and Silentwolf.. TOP, really? The dude was funny but back when I was a scrub I did a TOE against him and beat him down easy. lol I seem to remember he'd just steam role into enemies sometimes. Funny *** guy though.

Whoever brought up Daishi King... are you SERIOUS? lol

EDIT: You gotta relize now that pretty much none of this matters. We will probably all get owned by some 12 year old who has nothing else better to do than spend 12 hours a day on the computer. Oh.... yea, kinda like I did back when I was 15 :(

That's around the age I was when I started MW. Yeah there will be a lot of frighteningly good youngins, no doubt. But hey, the more the merrier. Also, I stated that this thread was for the MW4 era/nostalgia purposes.

As good as Leo was, he also admitted that he used hacks, at times, to negate heat as a factor (these hacks were used post CSJ).

Personally, I learned a lot about playing the game from Leo, and I had many very close and tough battles against him, and I enjoyed playing with him, so I was pretty f'ing pissed when I found out that he used hacks (and he admitted to me that he used them).

Neo, as much as you played the game, and as much as I played, I think we only ended up fighting against each other once (though we played with each other a few times, when I invited you to join Draconis Combine) [I was Kagemusha]. I guess perhaps that we weren't ultra active in VL at the same time. ;)

I played with Leo for YEARS and he never cheated. He shut down just like the rest of us when he over heated.

Everyone exploited the heat bug

I'm not talking heat bug. Since heat was computed client side, you could develop/use a program to change that value to 0. Leo admitted to using it in league games (likely ladder, as at this point he no longer actively played FFP NR games).

Hmm.. oh well - I knew a lot of people who used the "hack" VERY late in the game. Basically when most league play was gone and very little people played.

Hahah, this whole thread brings back some memories. I remember fighting Ace on a pretty regular basis. I had been wondering who I would run into from the old days on here. Anyone from War!Online's GS on here?

Haha, thanks man. It's mostly Crovax's, my additions to it are just below his original list.

Depending on what you were doing, open play, nhua, ctf, solaris, dueling, ect.
There are no best players, just guys that were as good as it gets.
The best ever at DFAing (until) he taught my old unit leader Pothead Magnus how to do it, was TimberLinersSchwinglepuck
GaussDragon at his best was as good as it gets nhua.
Disturbed
Pothead Magnus
DruidKing
Crovax

damn, a boatload more if I could remember names.
the top players from
Ahriman Corps
Black Dragon Elite
KaoS Legion
KORE whether we like it or not lol
Metalus Gravis
WAR
Venomous
Hitmen For Hire

Danielle was the little hottie that cartman thought he laid claim to?

neothor said "Whoever brought up Daishi King... are you SERIOUS? lol"
i puked in my mouth a little also at first neo but i thought i saw DaishiKiller maybe thats who you thought it said too?
DaishiKing was indeed very good

BTW the MechwarriorLeagues forums can be accessed again you will need you old MWL login info

When it came to the pulse Sunder, Sa-Mac and Derag were both just as good as I was (both members of HFH). Spin_Cold (HFH), Rubber Ducky (MG then HFH) and Ice-Ninja (MG) were really awesome at pulsing, but they preferred the Nova Cat over the Sunder. Honourable mentions go to UnSafeDisc and Black Ops of ~DA~.

Disturbed is my homie, always used to wing with him in the opens, often under spoof names. He was a great BK pilot. I probably played Mercs with Disturbed more than anyone else short of maybe Spin_Cold and Derag. DruidKing was really good in a lot of mechs and of course Crovax was another homie (HFH) who was an outstanding sniper. Though I would say all these pilots were awesome brawlers too, because HFH and AC were both top units that participated in the Brawler ladder and MG disbanded before it was created. Most of MG's players went to AC anyway.

I remember this Brawler match between AC and HFH for top spot getting shoutcasted. This was one of the best matches ever, extremely close games. http://www.mechwarri...hallengeid=1071

You have to chuckle, brawling on Tumbleweed, Defiance.
Our best moments playing AC was the Team Aggression ladder
MechWarrior Leagues
MechWarrior Leagues
Late in the league for AC but at least Disturbed was still hanging, and it was AC so I will take it!
We tried to get some TAG going lately but that fizzled as soon as everyone remembered what killed the ladder in the first place lmao.
within a few maps it was just leg them in their spawn.
What a shame that people outside the MWL will never know the TAG style of games, even though we all still have the maps that have it available. The server does have to download the TAG setup here http://www.mechwarri...s/downloads.cgi

Damn TAG was fun, maybe if it could be tweaked to give no score within xxxx meters of enemy spawn?
Games could be the way they were when the ladder launched.
For those that dont know, TAG grants points based on how far away you are from your own spawn. times2 points, times3 points, ect.many places on maps you would be getting a 4 times the points bonus, I dont remember what the evasion penalty did but its on the maps.

Ha just noticed who made the server setup, ArchChaos! I wonder if the whole thing was his idea?
Im done editing I think

I never played TAG but MWL was known for some really innovative gametypes and the best planetary platform.

TAG was a brutal gametype. Everytime I played BDE in it, it would always go to the 3rd map and be decided in the last few minutes. Doing 30 minute games like that for a few months pretty much burned me out on playing any online game for a long time. It would have been more fun as a 15 minute game on a small map, but the way the ladder was setup, they decided to go for 30 on huge maps. I think that's why the gametype never really took off.
