Most of the people in those screen shots were friends of mine.. even the ones on the other team. Maybe not at the time, but ended up being friends.

Well put neo, I'd even consider +HawkSaVaGeS a friend comrade acquaintence tolerable wingman these days, despite his uncanny ability remain prone for an entire match, while taking it like a man

Most of the guys I remember were from MWII era over Kali in the Grand Council Lader I guess, I did play Mercs and 4 for a short while and there were people that were pretty cool when I showed up and popped in, and knew of the ladders over Kali.

I guess I may have to make a name for myself someday soon again

Once upon a time I guess I gave it up with all the hacks people were devising, it got to be were I wouldn't even drop into a fight with some on the ladders with the un-limitless guided LRM-20's etc in the day on a small mech even some were using hehe.

Im no AC nutthugger but I know they were as good as any unit at MWL for a loooooong time with the record to prove it. and Ive never seen them playing in opens the way you say.
And I have never heard anyone call anyone "the boogeyman of mechwarrior"
The screenshots i see show how you played in open servers though.

? Apparently it was before your time. And MWL is irrelevant in this post. MWL came about at the end of Mechwarrior Mercs (when they were very popular because they were one of the last leagues). MWL was fun but was FULL of noobs. AC was from the in game servers and then came over to the league side of things. At the end of mechwarrior, if you had a good win %, it didn't mean much. Yea, you might have been the best or good.. compared to the nubs that were left. Specially since it seems to me like all the good players left were in Kaos at the end of MW4 Mercs.

I seem to remember AC just being another over hyped team.. at one time MWL was a total joke to most players. Great idea of a league but full of nubs.

And those screen shots were not open servers.. those were league matches. Just some of the players were Mercs. And not everyone used the same unit/outfit/clan prefix.

Nex was damn good but very limited in the mech he always took Mk2/Nova .. and yes I agree better than half the people mentioned.

Fatality and Purplehaze were good at the beginning of Mechwarrior 4 and really good in Mechwarrior 3.. but as people got better with Mechwarrior 4 you could tell Fatality and Purplehaze were not as dominate as before. (Like they were in Mech3). Shortly after they stopped being so good they kinda disapeared

Most the guys mentioned were good friends of mine and wingmen.. plus above average players.

When I think of the best ever I think of people who could get the best of me or give me a very good run in a match.

Me (Jack of all trades.. sorry.. but I gotta toot my own horn)

Ninja (really good in Novacat and somewhat Mk2)

Then you got people who shined as wingmen.. some who were very dominate players and some who were just very good tactical wingmen.

I'd go into battle with any of the following..

EDGE
Ringwraith
Grima
Xian
GreyGhost
Mechpro
Maelstrom
Mac/Coineach
Image
Leo Showers
Foehammer
Baal
DD
Sakadur (personal friend)
Matty (German dude)

It's hard to make this list because you had players who were good in 1 or 2 mechs, players who were good in all mechs, players who were good in 1st person, some in 3rd person and then others who were good in all.

Most these players who were listed were very good in 3rd person but only average in 1st person.

Not everyone gets a msg like this..

Hey yeah I wasn't even fazed im not on here / didn't get mentioned, I prefer to think of myself as one of the better/best wingman once i wasnt so wet behind the ears. I lead a large degree of the planetary in BZ with TrendkiII.. god I still remember his voice. alot of fun.. him and shivan.

I do wonder how Tronix was missed on the list. I actually saw some amazing stuff from him.

As far as haze and fate, my wife got haze his first job during mech4, that is why he and fate lost interest.. they got more interested in money and women LOL well that and Americas Army with me.. tainted(for me he was CrK_righthook as he came into BZ, was a very good pilot when he wasnt super high... taught me some and haze did too along with NiNjA. NeX, yeah he was limited but not many pilots could match him in an MKII - he could win 2 out of 3 1v1 in one against most on these lists. 9 out of 10 if he was 2v2 with ninja as a wing.

was fun to have Destro call me out as ****** and beat him 1v1 though. only player i ever thought was a dick.

nex was indeed good and should be on the list but very limited to what mechs he was awesome in. idd he was a great mk2 pilot one of the best for sure and played very well with ninja in 2v2's. i know neothor and ringwraith both beat him 1v1s in a mk2 he actually stopped playing neo 1v1 . in 2v2s i beat them a few times and yea i lost a few times too i think if anyone here said they never lost it would be abit of a lie. its all about winning when it matters which hopefully with the planetary stuff this game will bring to the table.

but if we really are gonna be talking about the sizes of our penises that pc i won from the 1v1 meltdown tournament was good for free.

Only a hand full of people ever gave me any problems in a Mk2. Nex was one of them and if I remember right bl0t or i0n was the other.. plus Ringwraith.. but he was my wingman. As EDGE said, I did beat Nex many times in 1v1 Mk2. He never beat me once, I do remember that for a fact. But always a very welcomed challenge.

Good times... good times. I can only hope this game is as good and has as good of memories in the future.

I also hope I have TIME to play this game. Specially since I've already dropped $120 on it haha

Yea, I totally forgot about Tronix. With a list as big as Gaussdragon's... a lot of people can be missed. Although, it would be very hard to narrow down a top 20, 10 or 5 list. I got my top 3.. but that's it

Mech 4 was about the time I stopped playing I guess and did the EQ beta test and SWG , etc, etc, other games thing

Sertsa was my old name I guess I was using Mong Grel after that hehe.

And a few other over the years after Rift came out etc.
