Hey, the Cent A can carry 3 srm6s, that's a lot of punch.
I like to use a 260 engine, 3 x srm6, and 2 small lasers in the CT because of how hot the srm6s are. Perfect buddy for a DDC Atlas.

Matches against teams like these were the easiest ones my corps had yesterday.
The Catapult and Cataphract still crap all over the Atlas in terms of front-loaded mid-range firepower.

Yeah, we in Kong have been seeing a lot of cataphracts and 6 x srm boomstick catapults.

Yeah but its soooo slow. The CN9-D can still carry 2 srm6s and goes 50% faster. Slow mediums for the most part are useless. The Hunchback-4SP is okay though because its hardpoints are spread out which makes it more resilient than the other slow mediums. But a slow medium with all its weapons in one location is just asking for its torso to get blown out.

Huh? If you build your Atlas right, the six SRM6 cat is the only mech that does more front-loaded damage. The Cataphract doesnt even come close to the Atlas in alphastrike potential. And when it comes to putting all that damage in a single location, theres nothing better than an Atlas, even the SRM6 cat spreads its 90 damage out over a pretty wide area.

It goes 90.6 with speed tweak which is more than fast enough. I'd rather have the extra firepower.
YLW goes 97.3 with an AC20 (or double AC2)

Its not an Atlas though. It has half the armor. There's no reason not to use the CN9-D instead. It goes fast enough to get a lagshield which dramatically improves its survivability. And its hardpoints are great.

Again thats too slow. If youre not going fast enough to get a lagshield, theres really no advantage to piloting a medium over a heavy. I mean cataphracts can go like 85kph with speed tweak, have more armor and more weapons, so why not just play a catraphract if youre only gonna go 85kph in a centurion anyway? Unless youre gonna go significantly faster than a heavy then a medium mech is pointless.

You use it instead of the D when you're spacepoor [only because I bought an Atlas recently] and can't afford an 8 million Bitcoin Centurion.

well sure. even a commando can beat an atlas if the pilot is better. the point is why handicap yourself when you dont have to?

Then again, they'll also overwhelm a similar Assault, so.
A lot of the people in our corps like to play the sniper role, so we still use our Gauss K2s and Gauss+AC/20+JJ Cataphracts with nigh-impunity whenever people try to blob D-DCs. I think I was rolling the only ECM on our team the vast majority of our matches and it didn't make much of a difference. It's not like ECM stacks, or really knocks out anything besides guided missiles anyways. Once you have the cloak for your main force, the rest is just redundant.

My cn-9d goes 121.9kph with speed tweak, and packs 2xML, SRM6+artemis, SR4+artemis. I can play hell with the backside of their firing line, or I can pound base capping ninjas.
