nah, tactical nuke you get that after a 5 mechs kill streak.

Can't wait for melee to be in the game so I can add the "commando" module that makes my melee attacks get double the range...

I say no don't return just yet. One new map, Alpine (huge, long distance engagement/force brawl in one location or long walks). Finally fixed some lag issues on lights, but now we have ECM dominate matches for the most part in group play with major cheese builds ruling the day. Many new mechs released, but hey that isn't the new content you are looking4.

All in all the game is a long ways away from really having the depth and balance in mechs/matches that is needed to retain players. Yes, the cry of its a group/team game is here as usual, but if MWO can't retain new players long enough to get them into groups it will always be this smallish community game it is now.

I love the concept of MWO, but the dev's really need to rethink some important aspects of the games internal thinking if it is here to stay, just my 2cents.

So, imho the game is in snail pace from right about where you left, slow slow going.

Please don't forget the 'Gold' ammunition (available for MC only) that ignores external armor and only does internal damage.

You can only put a ton of 'Gold' ammo on a 'Mech, but that's usually enough.

Sybreed has a point here with his post

Rewind 7-10 months and there were debates about coolant flush. People who started threads supporting the idea were bashed pretty heavily on the forums. There was a large contingent then that opposed such a feature and PGI appeared to move that direction.

Yes he did not poll the community, but based on his experience (and my own recollection), coolant flush was a no go

I've left out the 3 tons for the launchers, obviously.

And you are forgetting about Speed Tweak and MWO's hard cap on velocity, so if you really wanted you could build this here ...

No to Coolant Flush. If it has to be implemented, give us the canonical Coolant Pods (when they become available), as they have enough drawbacks.

You'd have a mech able to go as fast as a RVN-3L that has ECM yet is able to pack another laser and still have some tons left for superior armor and more heatsinks. That would be quite painful to face.

No, I challenge you to build one that goes as fast with the same armor. You can't because it's heavier and needs a bigger engine.

There have been changes, small ones, but they add up in the great scheme of things. We have seen improvements in detail, a new scenario (Alpine) and some new night missions. Probably the most controversial thing to hit Mech recently is the introduction of the Spider; in the right hands and with an ERPPC it can be used to actively hunt Jenner's (Yes I know it's just another Mech, but an interesting one).

The best thing to do is keep checking in as you are and come back when you are ready; in the meantime have a look at MechWarrior Tactics and give us your view of it. There are quite a few MechWarrior's that started with Mech Commander who will be very interested.

Yup, people who started playing the closed beta back in june (like me and Hawkeye) read and participated in several threads about this, hence the reason why I made this thread. Most experienced players felt coolant flush was a bad idea back then and I think that feeling hasn't changed.

MW4 was the most popular Mech game (and also the only one with a functional community) for a decade...surely we wouldn't want THAT again...oh no wait.

I agree that coolant flush could be gamebreaking, but the statement you just made is ridiculous.

Coolant flush no, at all, ever. Arty and Air strikes yes. Discount deal on unlimited use (1 per match but no limit to usage overall) for one month with MC. C-Bill cost of 100k per otherwise.

Ever ran 4 ML's on a Cicada? Even with 5 extra tons of heatsinks, it overheats. Without those, and with streaks, it'd be a disaster. Hell, the 3L with 2 ML's and 2 Streaks and 2 heatsinks overheats quite frequently. Again, 340 engine = 5.5 tons heavier than 295 engine, which means you can't load it down the same (plus higher running heat, I think). Grant it, maybe 4 SL's would give it an advantage somewhere, but most people don't consider that option due to the short range/low alpha.
