i dont see any 3rd person mode yet. if you dont believe them when they say they wont do it, why do you believe them when they say they're looking into it?

You kidding me? This would be awesome, they won't give us 2.0 DHS, the least they could do is give us an oh-s#!t button for us laser boats

There's already an "oh-s#!t" button. It's the emergency power down override - default key is "o" if I'm not mistaken. Start using it, do quad PPC alphas and blow yourself up please.

You know how people say you should do a search for a topic instead of starting a new one and then berate people for necroing old threads ... this topic is why. This was killed to death, jumper cables were attached to the dead horse to make if flail a little so people could pretend it was alive while they beat it, then the cables got knocked off and they kept at it. It is dead. It is the worst part of MW4 and needs to go burn in the fiery pits of hell where all the flushing won't keep it from being turned to slag.

TL;DR: never.

because there's no point in looking into it if you're going to stand behind the idea of "we're never going to implement it"

sort of like, if you're never going to eat <food>, there's no need to look up how much that <food> costs or recipes using that <food>

sort of like, if you're never going to rob a bank, there's no need to learn what security measures that bank has

i'm not going to turn this into a 3rd person argument, because as you stated, they haven't added it. yet. and they may not. but simply put, "never" in pgi-speak simply means "maybe". so their saying they'll "never" add coolant flush simply means they "probably won't add it unless there's sufficient demand"

in other words, "never" doesn't really mean never.

PGI wants heat to be a major factor in battle and allowing players to just flush away heat whenever they want would make the game easier than it already is.

They said they werent going to include one as its not like the table top.

lol, they didn't say that at all. They said that it makes sense to have cooling button for a long single player campaign, but not for a team elimination game. Because having a magic no heat button in team elimination negates the use of a heat system at all when battles can be over very quickly, and then you refit and are on to the next match.

You mean a button you press that pours all your coolant on the ground, then forces you to run like a loaf of bread in a bakery for the rest of the match?

I believe this is not something that will ever be added. At least I remember hearing the devs say something to that effect. Even so, coolant flush is a last-ditch tactic. Because even if you manage to defeat whoever you are facing by suddenly dumping your heat, you will have no way of cooling back down after doing it once, which basically means the battle is over for you either way.

because TT rules/stats/lore are like the bible for some reason and should never be changed for any reason, ever. what that reason is, though, nobody is able to explain.

Actually, more than that.

Coolant flush was a crutch put into the MW games to basically allow you to ignore heat at dramatic moments of do-or-die.

And then you'd alpha-strike something to death. Maybe a few times, long as the coolant bar held up. Didn't even make your sinks work worse.

A mechanic that allows you to utterly ignore the biggest limiter in the game repeatedly is a Bad Idea in multiplayer games like MWO.

It's actually because it invalidates heat as an issue in a team vs. team environment.

Never.

If you flushed your coolant you wouldn't have any left for cooling. Try running your car without refilling the radiator. Let us know how that works for you.

Nobody wants "flush" in MW:O. This is a dead horse.

I was explaining why everyone was against it, not why it's actually a bad idea. They are all FOR bad ideas, as long as they are in line with the precious TT rules (see: 2.0 DHS)

We aren't, because it's an arcade-like feature which totally eliminates the single biggest existing balancing factor and would destroy the competitive environment.

Your idea is bad and you should feel bad.

I do find it entertaining that people want greater heat efficiency overall but the idea of something that temporarily improves heat efficiency is somehow bad.

Coolant flush is an artifact of the MW3/MW4 days. It can stay there.

it is like the bible where they ignore the parts that they dont like (10 second turns) but fight to the death about things that they do (DHS)

Well the past MW games had it. The thing was - you had a coolant bar. But when you used it all up, it didn't come back.
