As posted in Guides... my K2 build is 4xMPL and 2MGs. 28SHS, 400/422 armor runs at 1.44 heat efficiency and a 315XL engine. This is the build to protect team mates and chase off any lights bugging your Assault/Heavy friends. This is the build I run with 90% of the time.
A modification to replace the 2 MPLs in the arms to 2 Large Lasers at the cost of a smaller engine and a few points of armor will make this thing an armor burner against any class of Mech. Because the LLs burn at a decent amount of damage per tick, you can start sheering legs/arms off light mechs pretty easily. Just gotta be careful cause this thing will run VERY hot.
Post ECM:
I've removed the arm MPLs for LL's. A standard 245 engine. I replaced the 2MG's for 2 AC/2s. I now use this thing to make LRM class Mechs backup behind cover while the team moves forward.
Thank you for replying to this thread
(I now have bragging rights that the lead dev noticed my post)
for the Post ECM build, is yours pretty much the same as my build but with medium pulse lasers instead of medium lasers, and a smaller engine, SHS, and extra armor?
Personally I cannot stand moving at less than 64.8kph unless im piloting an atlas or some other build with massive/op weapon
loadouts (gausscats, all laser hunchback, 4AC/5 cataphract, streakcat, etc.)
do you know what my top speed would increase to if I were to add a XL engine 300? (sorry still noob and I cant find any guides on engine speed) Also I was thinking about possibly mounting additional double heat sinks in the arms (36 armor each) should I have spare tonnage/crit slots and my torso slots are filled. Would this be a good way to improve my heat efficiency or would it be too easy to destroy my arms for any real benefit?
