I am looking forward to when it goes to the public. Until then I will calmly twiddle my thumbs. *Paces back and forth impatiently*. Good work so far as I can see folks. Keep it up.

I think what is meant is that you'll be able to play with your friends (as in on the same team), but who you fight against is up to the matchmaker
Honestly, that is the stupidest thing i think i have ever heard of.. the whole idea of a MP game is to go play against your friends.. Most people beleive it or not could care less about planet control, or who is the best, or ladder rank, or what ever..
We wanna go blast our buddies appart for a few hours and have a fun night
Honestly, the more i read about this game, the more i think it wont be the mech game i've been waiting for. It is like they are trying to make eve.. and forget about the tens of thousands of fans that just like single player, and playing with our friends. So a small group of hard core mech fans will enjoy the game,, and the rest aren't gonna bother.
I hope i'm wrong, but i think they are going way to much towards pleasing the hard core, and basically ignoring the masses. Because with out the masses, You Don't have a game...

Actually for many of us it is just the opposite. I want to play WITH my friends, as a team. Not blow them up. To me blowing up my friends, while for for about an hour, is boring as hell. It is pure twitch FPS boring. a game which makes you think, plan, execute, all with friends...that is something I like.
As for whether people will enjoy a co op game, The entire populaiton of WoW raiders and PVP'ers would agree with me. Im not saying this will be anything like that, just that far more than just the hardcore player likes this model.
Im sorry you are not getting the game you want, perhaps other games will give you the experience you want?

Not for me. I'm too old to play with and against random players, which i don't know.
If i play, i wanna play with my budies, co-op or multi. If i can't do it, then i simply don't care about the game, rather seek a co-op game then...

Then open your eyes, please. As i see PG is do it just everything, to open the game to the masses.

You completely lost, pal. Not only the hardcore players wan't to play with their buddy's, but most of the casual players too. Actually this is where the World of Tanks partly failed, because without premium you only can invite one person to fight with you, and two, if you have premium. We constantly suffer from this when try to play along...

Do a search for "Mac OS X" or "Macintosh" there are other threads discussing this topic. And don't use Parallels, just set up Boot Camp and boot from a normal Windows install on your Mac.

While open games can be fun, there are times when serious players want to have a really competitive game and that means sometimes closing the door to players who arent known to have that level of talent (griefers, young children, sight see'ers, etc). The best dedicated servers I play on, even today, are well administrated to eliminate the shenanigans that comes with the rank and file of the player base at large.
Understandably, this game wil be "different" than the MW games we have seen in the past but if match making doesnt at least address the above it will be a sad day for the MW community in my opinion. That being said, the game so far looks great and I'm sure we are all eager to see more of it, keep up the good work.

As well they could offer a sort of "Practice" or "Personal Challenge" option which gains the winner nothing but bragging rights against those they defeat which would allow friends to fight friends in friendly combat.

Plus with the mechlab everything will change. Imagine your Hunchback, configured to be like a !fast! !armored! Urbanmech or swapping out for like 2-3 AC5s or heck 3-4 AC2s and spraying down people with AC fire. I remember tearing people up with the Blackjack way back when durring Solaris, wearing them down with AC2 fire then punching a hole with 4 meds.
On the cost of modding a mech...there should be a cost. The innershere doesn't have omnimechs yet, so a custom job should cost something plus it will be a C-Bill sink.

I like everything I have seen so far, but there is just so much that's wild speculation on these forums that I read eveything with a grain of salt, and when I'm not sure I fall back on the theory that the developers have to MAKE MONEY. As such they are going to try for the broadest appeal possible while still maintaining faith with the BT Universe as much as reasonably possible.
In the end they want LOTS of players, spending money, to make this worthwhile and to continue to expand it. If they have a choice between alienating a relatively small group of hardcore enthusiasts or the bulk of the gaming community that is more "casual", I know where they are going to land.
What I hope is that they can manage the balancing act well.

i know most of the questions are bout spec and various things but i haven't found anything regarding 3D
(Nvidia 3D/AMD HD3D) and i know that u devs may not have time for that but since cry engine 3 seems to work well with Nvidia3D
if any is it possible to play MWO with a 3D setup like Nvidia 3D?
i ask since i love the game experience in a more 3 dimensional perspective
I've seen in the vids on youtube that graphically this game has more that enough eyecandy
so if i where to play the game will it fully support Nvidia3D or will it be like most non 3d-ready-games a game to tweak in order to play almost flawlessly ?
