Over the past week I spent some time tweaking and refining the new Ilya Muromets hero mech into a carefully tuned damage and lock down machine. I put together a simple 3 UA/C 5 build and with the help of a Razer Naga mouse, created a macro to lower the jam rate as much as possible while still maintaining adequate dps.

It is a very impressive video that can demonstrate how much further you can push your gaming and piloting of any battlemech, and turn tide in your favor! Enjoy!

Ilya Muromets Hero Mech
3x Ultra A/C 5 w/ 12tons of ammo
DHS
Endosteel

Razer Naga Mouse (http://www.razerzone...mice/razer-naga)
Weapon group all three to group 1. Group weapon 1 to group 2, weapon 2 to group 3, weapon 3 to group 4. Create a macro with a .25 sec delay for Naga 2, 3, 4. Bind that macro to right-click, and to loop while the key is pressed.

Video analysis:
Shots fired in rapid succession: 634 (+/- 6)
Weapon Jams: 12
Weapon Jam percentage: 2%
Alpha Strike: 15 damage
Damage Per Second: 20 sustained (if no jams)

-----

Here is another fun video I posted some time ago of how you can also use your hardware to your advantage. This is a video of an Atlas DDC with a very power loadout. I was lucky enough to capture a match doing 1376 damage!

*** Im having troubles getting the video to embed, I will try to fix later ***

Somehow I still think you would do better with just AC-5's but I do have a Naga...

That type of bull!@##!@ is the reason why PGI made the UAC5 all wrong! They need a LOWER way lower jam chance but with LARGE period of like 10 seconds.

That means it will nto be worth usign such a macro since the true full firepower will be worthy.. but RISSKY. and when weapon jams you need to find cover

I think it is fun to watch the convergence issues. When the cursor is near a building or any other object, the ballistics start going all over the place. Takes a while to learn how to train your shots.

Using macros to compensate just seems like cheating to me...

Macros are ways to set up complex things to be done simply.

They are the natural progression of technology.

And there is no way to stop them from being used...

While I disagree with the use of macros, you're right, there's no way to stop them from being used. It's like people complaining about third party voice chat. You can't stop people from using it.

I could never use a mouse like that. Pressing the mouse buttons would invariably always throw my aim off due to how hard I press.

As for macros, I have nothing against them. If the game allows a button to be pressed X times per second, and the software/hardware used does not get around that, then it's just a function of convenience.

Press softer.

I do have a bit of trouble maintaining aim if I have to "madly click" both mouse buttons (actually 3-4 mouse buttons at once on the naga, for how I have groups set up usually - for instance on the Ilya "1" is just the Large Laser on the arm, "2" is chainfire all AC's, "4" is just the Arm AC's, and "5" is my medium lasers; finally "6" is alpha strike but it is hard to alpha lasers / AC's together beyond point blank...)

Isn't this just like chain firing all of them on a single mouse button?

I often look in the mirror and wonder who that handsome man is on the other side of the glass.

I don't work for razer nor have any affiliation with them. Though razer and pgi are welcome to pm me employment opportunities.

That results in very high weapon jam rates. The macro syncs them further apart to reduce jamming.

Is it cheating? No. I spent $$$ and choose to upgrade my piloting hardware rather than get xmas lights.

Thanks for the macro, been having fun with it in some single drops but have to wait to run it through its paces later tonight with 4 and 8 man teams, but loving it so far.

when I was buying a new mouse, I looked at the naga ...for about 5 seconds.

Is that mouse designed for girls or kids? or both?. It's one of the smallest mice I've ever seen, it was borderline useless.

I currently use a g700.

G700 here too. Logitech > Razer, the latter lacks build quality IMO.

Interesting that Bryan agrees with you. Hopefully PGI will find a way to stop this without nerfing the UAC5 into oblivion.

I've never had an issue with the Razer mice, at least not until several years in thus far.

The one keyboard I bought died and was annoying and pretty much assured I won't buy another Razer product.

The Naga is working just fine so far.
