Pretty much this.

Possibly, but I'm pretty sure there will be some other fotm build/tech that will take it's place that is just as overpowered. It's the nature of this type of multiplayer game. ECM just kind of took it much too far.

well given that the devs have been quoted that they like when things are called op cause to them that means its diverse...

It's on the list of planned features, just don't expect it anytime soon.

If you really want to a strategic map and all the good stuff that comes with it, I suggest Mekwars. If for nothing else, to see What Might Have Been if the producers had taken a different direction with MWO.

No offense but, what about Community Warfare would change the customization or the game mechanics of how the game is played? I mean if CW was in right now, you would have a big map telling you why you are fighting, who you are fighting for, and where. But the game would still be the same. Sure you would be fighting under a house, or a merc unit, or as a lone wolf. The core of the game would still be the same, so it would still be ECM Warrior Online.

Windies maybe correct in what he is saying.

In this case, this concept is scaring the crap out of me. To me CW is a way different concept. Is what makes the game rolling in a sort of "realistic Economy" and is what going to prevent Spam Drops and crap happening today.

If CW is "well done" is going to bring balance to this huge mess.

I posted something related to this a couple of days ago on this Forum. Title was something like"what would you expect from CW"... it didn t have a good feedback, but those were just my humble ideas.

Do you want to know what COMMUNITY WARFERE really should be? Go here:
http://www.netbattletech.com/

and find the rules of that FREE Inner Sphere Universe. I played NBT for years using MW4. That would be what THIS game would need.

If this game will stick on what Windies is saying... well, WMO makes no sense to me whatsoever.

The last I read about Community Warfare it had a target for 1st quarter 2013. My guess is that MWO will remain in open beta until most game related mechanisms, content and features are in place. This would include equipment, game modes, matchmaking systems (including player skill formulation), user interface improvements, DirectX 11 (unless that's out of the question now), etc etc. At this point they'll start talking about Community Warfare and it'll likely be the huge "live" launch feature to take MWO out of open beta. PGI probably wants to get all that down before throwing the CW system into the mix, as I'm sure that component will require a lot of maintenance once it's running. I have no insight into MWO development, I'm just making assumptions. I think closed beta served to get the feel of the game right and the experience stable. Open beta is to iron out major bugs, fix serious balance issues and pad-out content and basic features.

I think the game will move out of open beta with the introduction of Community Warfare sometime around June 2013.

The fact that nothing about CW has been touched or mentioned for some time has me nervous.

A simple pic or something that shows 'Yes, we're working on it' would suffice for me.

Given the obvious issues being worked on right now, and the content roadmap before us, I think it is quite likely they will not make the 90 day deadline for CW.

All that being said, I am waiting for CW to make this game interesting again. I honestly don't care or mind if its ECM-Atlas online, as long as there is a deeper purpose to each battle.

I keep seeing that theyre not gonna be doing any more resets with the game... that suggests the game being less in beta and more a post launch with further development not being at a beta pace but as a MMO development pace.
I dont see a reason for them TO move out of Beta with this game at all anymore. Given that they're getting money already, we're spending and buying MC, and theyre padding the MC market with snowmen.

Same as usual, only one request: No Community Warfare questions please. I feel awful that I cannot answer them now and I hate passing them all by. Cheers everyone!

Closing this thread. I love Community Warfare as much as the next person does but this has already been established as being further than the immediate roadmap.

so no december... wonder if we'll even get an update by next year

Thats just it, what does immediate mean?

Also since when are we not allowed to discuss the distant future of the game? why was the post locked and moved.

You dont see them running around locking threads about the upcoming mechs or clan invasion.

The way they are treating CW lately has me very concerned.

I would say don't expect it for at least 6 months. I would rather see them add more mechs, items, and maps so that the launch of CW is truly epic rather than seeing the same 10 mechs over and over

I hope you are wrong. I dont disagree about needing more mechs, also we need more maps.

I just dont see the game in its current form holding people for 6 months, the devs just do not have that much time or by the time CW gets here there will be no player base.

Yeah but I think PGI would retain more new players if they release CW and advertise the game at the same time when there is 3x the content there is now
