Theirs nothing there of value, it smells like **** and its also full of ****.

Wasn't the sewer system one of the old measures of a civilization or something?

i mean i think by now everyone on the forums have had adjusted their expectations now for this game. this is no big surprise.

They are getting better now. no more "i'm quitting" threads negative threads (though not sure if thats due to censoring), and the patch quality has improved, but it will take a long time to undo some of the things from previous patches

but yeah, hawken is on there. I think Planetside 2 will win in the MP shooter category though

Until they screw it up like they did the original.

Emphasis on old.
And even back then... they still hold nothing of value (Well, now we consider that stuff priceless artifacts), smelled like **** and filled with ****.
The only metric it was used for, was to determine how advanced a civilization was. Better civilizations tended to have better sewer systems. Of course, it wasn't the only metric used. There are several. Like a water distribution system ect...

As someone who has read PC Gamer for over 15 years and still has a subscription, I kinda chuckle when people say they're "biased" or whatever when they publish something they don't like. I have seem them tear down "AAA" titles from the very publishers that advertise in their magazine (often advertising the game itself in the same issue).

Overall they tend to offer some of the best coverage of the industry, certainly better than any of the online gaming sites I've seen.

Of course, that's why PC Gamer fires it's Editor-in Chief every year! If you have read their magazine that long you know this to be true.

I am just saying that MechWarrior doesn't fit the mold of the games they have chosen to like. MechWarrior is an action sim with an unusual controller scheme. Check, check, check, that's three strikes as far as PC Gamer is concerned, even if they don't realize they are doing it.

The difference is... those are historic artifacts. They're essentially priceless.

Can you really call anything on this forum a historic artifact?

Note: This conversation I like! Well, we're essentially talking about ****. But its quite intellectual none the less.

This list is meaningless when you include games in closed beta such as Hawken or games like Tribes Ascend (which is again under heavy development and has a ways to go) and even the tribes subreddit had about a 50-50 split saying they don't deserve to win. MWO rightly isn't on the list but maybe next year.

that planetside 2 is a major favorite is neither a surprise nor a bad sign for MWO... sony is doing so much entirely wrong right now, i don´t know where to start^^... not a bad game either, lots of potential, but much less of what i hoped for...started with "hack´n slay" gameplay, going on with huge balance issues and not ending with a boring "zergrush" capturesystem that rewards nothing but kills too much and doesn´t encourage keeping what you conquer... seriously, battlefield play4free is a better game for me right now... and performance wise? PS2 is slightly better than MWO, but far from "good" for a shooter and the game is live...ofiicially

Yep. One of the many reasons I enjoy reading them. Good way to pass the time while I have a glass of wine and am in need of some entertainment.

Threads of this exact nature were going on over on the WoT forums during Closed and Open Beta. WoT seems to be doing just fine. (Heck, they were posted on the WoW forums back in 2004 and look at where that game, love it or hate it, wound up)

Will MW:O wind up doing just fine? I don't know. I haven't read PC Gamer for the past 15 years so that's not a call I'm qualified to make.

It runs just fine on my AMD 965BE + GTX670. Certainly far better than this thing does. MWO is literally nearly half the framerate of any other game I own.

Is anyone surpeised? i mean seriously? anyone who look at this game in a unbiased light can tell in the first 5 min of gameplay this is in a alpha state not even beta yet.

Nominating it for game of the year before even hitting beta would be a little pre mature dont you think?

Alpha state, are you on drugs, it spent 6 months in closed beta, while its true that when it came out of closed beta it was almost bug free. Now though its in open beta, in most games they would test specific things...ALpha however is before closed beta, seriously if you think this is Alpha maybe you should try play another Alpha game and compare the two.

i didn´t say that ALL amd users or who ever have issues in PS2... neither does everybody in MWO... lucky you i´d say...

Funny to see the fanboys attack pc gamer and try to discredit them.

PC GAMER is a respected publication worldwide that will still be around long after MWO has died and it's servers shut down.

They had reasons not to add MWO onto their list, and it's clear why, except to the white knights here.

Saying they have no credibility shows the position of the posters, in the the extreme minority that believes everyone else is "biased and deluded".

As for my rant against them, I don't question their credibility or respectability. I did say "biased", perhaps it was the wrong word for what I was trying to say.

As for "discrediting long-running respected (add medium here)".... Just because something was good at one time does not mean it is unable to suck now or continue to suck into the future.

And before all the 'but it's beta' calls so is DOTA 2, Hawken goes open beta today, and planetside has only just gone release.

Sad state of affairs.

And on that list, only one of those interests me. Bunch of garbage on that list as far as I am concerned. Of course, millions of people will play the stupidest junk like WoW. The lowest common denominator gravitates to simplistic trash games (look at the popularity of console junk games). This is not to say MWO is without problems. It has a ton of them, but great reviews are near meaningless to me. Sadly, the lowest common denominator is where the bucks are at, so of course, designers cater to this crowd and it leaves MWO as a niche game struggling for survival.

i feel like they had a afterthanksgiving pep talk or something. either way patches since thanksgiving have been pretty good. which is odd cuz canadians don't celebrate thanksgiving?

at any rate, ECM is way OP right now. its acting as ECM, ECCM, Null Signature, (not even a personal one, its an AOE Null sig.)

Oh MWO Forums. You never fail to entertain me.

Makes me proud to be part of this mech-erotic auto asphyxiation club.

Can't wait until next patch so people forget all about this wake up call/GOTY diddly and get back to complaining about the OP of the week!

Learn from your competition before it is too late PGI!

Then maybe MWO will make game of the year for 2013.
