Do You Like To Specialize Mechs, Or Have Mechs That Play Multiple Roles?

Of course this would be based on your current playstyle. Some like to be a jack of all trades, some like to only shoot at long range, or brawl.
So how do you specialize your mechs? Do you have 1 mech for each type of role, or perhaps even multiple mechs that can fill any role?
Note: I'd make this a poll if I was not scared to disable no-script on firefox (after the mishap today)

When i get my stalkers ill be building sniper/brawlers like they're going out of style (cause they might well be).
I'll be tinkering with an LRM boat, SRM boat, LL boat and PPC boat with supporting weapons if i can fit them.

I like making my mechs flexible. If I run into an Atlas I want the firepower to defend myself. If I have a circling light I want the lasers/missles to fend him off. I don't like specialising in one thing.

I'm happy to say this largely still exists in MWO which is a great improvement over a month or two ago when it was all about boating one weapon type. Haven't seen much of that lately.

2things though, ammo and heat are things which I hate to worry about, so I stock up on both, dissipation and extra ammo. my ecm keeps my streaks running, and my ac/5 can keep shooting despite any outside factors.

Take my Atlas RS....Built for med range Strikes not close brawls but if someone closes the gap with it....it can still chain fire 4 Large Lasers and start hitting the SRM6 and Gauss without to many heat problems. At least until someone distracts the enemy off or it dies.

good on ya a more positive post X) i think both specialised and mix role mechs have theirplace like stugs and panzas. artillery battries and soldiers. they all have a role to play and MWO will be better the more it makes more roles viable.
