My most satisfying kill? The latest one...

If I had to pick a single one though, it would be me in an Atlas fighting the only other guy left, who was in a Catapult. He had LRMs, and I was heavily damaged. It was a cat and mouse, trying to use cover to move close while he ran faster than me and tried to get to missile range. We traded shots for several minutes while spectators cheered us on. I had red central torso, so any volley could finish me. It came down to me making a lucky guess which way he went around a hill and finishing him with two large lasers to the back.

Wow. I had the exact opposite. Me in an LRM Cat and an Atlas, both near death and one shot away with red CT's, playing peek-a-boo trying to core each other, and I finally get an unaimed 190m LRM shot onto him around a corner that splashes him with enough to take him down.

Shooting JJ capable mechs out of the air is always great.

Killing opponents while my own mech is hopping around on one leg is also hilarious.

I had a match in my Dragon where I was the last man standing on my team against a Hunchback laserboat, an Awesome (at barely 50%) and a nearly perfect Atlas (can't remember the exact loadout but he had 2 ERPPCs). Took them out 1 by 1 and then danced around the base until I finally destroyed the atlas.

I had a similar match in my Cicada (1 ERPPC, 4 mgs). Dancing around the base against a catapult, I realized I could fire *thru* the base holes and finished the cat off.

Back in the MW3 leagues we were doing Planetfall matches (remember those?) with stock mechs 2 vs 2. I was in a Thor(Summoner) Alt. B fighting a Mad Cat(Timberwolf) Alt. D. Our mates were both dead and my opponent was being smart using a valley in the terrain for cover from my LRM's and he had the advantage as the defending party that it was his victory if time ran out.

The match was down to the last minute and I had run out of LRM ammo and he was out of Streak SRM ammo. His dual PPC's held a distinct advantage of my remaining dual SRM 4's but with my last volley one of the missiles curved just right and hit him in the back and cored him.

It was glorious.

Once I was playing a 6XSRM6 Cat on the snow map. I went straight for the middle cave entrance (I started on that side). I was on the map variant that has the building half buried in the wall of the "crossroads/junction" inside the cave. Anyways I parked right beside the building hiden from the direction the enemy would be coming. I was patient, sat perfectly still, and finally I heard the "clunk," "clunk," noise of a mech coming. Sure enough a Lone Wange comes around the corner. He couldnt be more perfectly lined up and 1 big alpha shot to his upper chest killed him (he was at 100%). I think I saw his eyes actually go wide when he made that turn and saw me, just before he died.

I had a couple headshots on Atlas's before they even got a shot off that were satisfying. But probably my kills in 8v8 are the most satisfying.

To be honest, the other night, and it was not 1 kill but 5 in a single match. I made a few changes to my CTF 2X. Basically slapped in a ac20 instead of a ac10 and did some other tweeks with weapons to make it fit. So drop with a friend who is running a ecm atles he uses to just annoy the crap out of people at range.

First mech we see is a commando who comes in to fire a few srm's and run off. Well the mech was doing well tell it decided to run straight at me. I had just configured a alpha strike button on mouse (first time ever) so I hit it and the mech just up and died. Head shot or cored out, no clue, but that make me like my new config.

For a while we are popping people who come to the ridge to fire at us. Then a Cent crosses the ridge, and he gets hammered, and is running home, I manage to get one last shot off on the guy. And he just up and died. SWEET

so we start pushing them back form the ridge, and I can see they are heavily damaged. More then our guys and we outnumber them a mech or 2 (we did take some losses). So decide it was time to push over the ridge, and tell the people in chat this. I cross first and others followed. I get a hunchback in the open, who I proceed to just destroy as it had no CT armor. Ac20 and a srm take him out.

there is 3 of them left, a CTF, hunchback and a jenner. We all start shooting at the CTF and he is quickly taken out. I had left that guy to chance the hunchback who had the jenner for support. I then realize my friends are behind me and I am 2 vs 1. These 2 should have taken me out but my ac20 again works as intended. Take a shot and rip open the side torso of the hunch and take out most of the guys weapons. alternating weapons I can open the rest of him in short order.

Ok last mech, the jenner who had done a decent amount of damage to me. My friends are arriving now but then jenner seamed to be a good pilot so could take me out still. Already lost my back armor,a arm and low armor every ware else. The jenner rushes behind a building going right. I guessed he would come back and line up my sights where I expect him. sure enough he popes out and right into my sights straight towards me. I again use my new alpha button as I am cool now and want to finish this. WAM game over. the guy was well armored still so guessing head shot. But what a match. The 4 of us that lived are down to almost no armor also a few luck shots could have changed the match.

but what makes this a satisfying favorite kill is the 2 alphas that take out near perfect lights who are almost always the hardest to kill. Made me smile. That and a lot of luck.

It wasn't a single kill, but a few days ago three DWAR guys and I hopped into a game on Frozen City, all three of them in scouts and me in a LRM Atlas (3 x LRM15, Gauss, dual TAGs). We had one player disconnect from the get-go, and when one of the PUGs on the team asked for the plan I told him I was in a LRM boat with 3 scouts to help. He said LRM boats were a waste, and we were going to lose. A few minutes in he died, repeated his comment about us losing, and disconnected.

I wish he had stayed, because at the end we had won - and he was the only loss on our team :)

I think a friend got a screenshot of the scoreboard, which I need to get hold of and private message to him to see what a good LRM boat is still capable of!

[Please note that this LRM boat is only viable outside of 8-man teams, in those ECM and coordination makes LRMs almost worthless. ECM still needs to be fixed / neutered!]

There were 2 moments that caused tears of joy in my eyes.

1: Unhitable mage-jenner (blinking x)) tried to jj above my k2-dual gauss. In the air, he isn't unhitable anymore. 'Duck Hunt', I've won :)

2: Just grinding my HBK-4H with an AC/20, a commando harrased an assault (he couldn't hit him, lagshield yunno?). The commando made one mistake: He ran straight into my sight > AC/20 1shot x). Isn't something special, but his reaction in chat "omg op" and left. Best moment evaaaaaaaaaaaar

Fun thread,

My fav was on Caustic, our base was being capped by an Atlas and Cataphract. Only myself and a couple of lights were left. They were running circles while I approached in my CTF with Guass and LL, just a shot away from being cored. About 200m out the Atlas stop shooting and turns towards me, I zoom in and shoot out his left eye. He falls backward in slow motion as I switch targets. 'Phract sees this and comes around base to square up on me. I aim at his cockpit, fire, and he immediately falls to the ground. The lights all just stopped and were like WTF just happened? Two head shots, it was a glorious day on the battlefield!

Quad PPC K2, raven was running around the team generally being a raven, saw legs were yellow so i fired trying to leg him so the tem could finish him off, apparently 2 of the shots hit 1 leg and the other 2 hit the other because he just popped, insta-dead

Screenshot or it didn't happen :)

[I fully expect to get back a C&C Red Alert screenshot or some such - would be the funniest way to respond I think]
