Is there a reason the bonus for a kill is less than the bonus for an assist? You'd think it'd be the other way around. I'm not gonna complain though, I usually get more assists than kills anyways xP (may have answered my own question there but I'm curious if there is another reason)

I seriously think that since we are getting bonus for damage, giving extra bonus for kills or kill assists has no meaning at all... Its all in the damage you do to the enemy anyways. (extra money is even more meaningless now that repair and rearm isn't going to be an issue) Anyways, I see that the devs are actually playing around with the economy... they've not decided for sure what to do so lets just play along for now.

Congratulations, PGI, you just removed all incentive to fight to win. Now it's just fighting for the sake of fighting. I couldn't disagree with your changes more strongly.

This is your solution to the people taking advantage of the system? Since when did you decide to make this a DM styled game?

I think they just explained it poorly... when you get a kill you would get the assist money as well, so you still make more for the kill... but I guess we will see.

I hope they address the FPS issue in the next patch...

I can't wait... i'm expecting big things out of the performance side of things... i hope the fps get a big boost for Core duo machines

i hope to not be disappointed but i'm preparing for the worst

I know I'm being selfish, but i could care less about the new content if I could have my FPS back from a few patches ago. An 8 million cbill boost is nice and I hope the new players enjoy the grind, but I would be happy to start over just if I could get back into the game. I was having a lot of fun.

Well it is a valid concern.

When will the PC Gamer pattern become available on all mechs? Just bought a Cataphract and I would rather use that than the MC skins.

Edit: Question has been answered but leaving it here. Phract needs some love too :)

I could very well be wrong, but following the pattern of the bobble-heads you may need to unequip the skin on one mech before you can use it on another?

The phract is my only mech currently, and I've had it on 3 mechs at once so that's not the issue. It's not a big problem since the default pattern allows for color changes, I just miss my stripes.

Which is very unfortunate for anyone who has started very recently but has not yet amassed a large amount of c-bills- such as anyone who has playes 30-40 matches. It would actually be better to drop your account and start over again if you've played 26 or more matches but have nto yet bought your first mech(and if the person has bought MC, they'll be stuck between a rock and a hard place)

A flat-rate payout to existing accounts with more than 25 matches would be ideal, retroactively giving them what they would have earned.

I am confused now - did you not write above that all existing players get the "flat-rate"... 7.9 Mio CBills?

Doesn't this economic model change make it easier to harvest Cbills.....just drop and leave since you get the same amount for winning or losing and have no RnR bills to pay. So just keep dropping all your mechs into a battle and leave, or are you only allowed into 1 battle at a time?
Also, it seems there is now no economic trade off for using such expensive items to repair or rearm like XL engines or Artemis missiles. Won't they just show up on all mechs now?

Maybe i dont get it, but why in the world such a (sane) human being actually "play" this game again? I mean playing in the sense of playing. Nobody sits in front of the pc and just drops in his mechs, would he? I am here to have fun, not to have a large number of c-bills while not playing. But maybe I am just naive :)

Regarding the expensive items: I bet Artemis will be more frequent now though it costs you space and tonnage. The XL I am not sure, you die a lot earlier - at least my experience is that I survive many matches with one side torso completely blown away.

What I expect is better lag, fps, and other various known bugs fixed, 2 mechs per month at least, redone UI, training mode, more matchmaker options including the ability to select who and how many ppl you want to drop with, 2 new maps including larger sized one, 2 new game modes ie dropship, escort, in game options, dx 11, destructible trees etc, character/profile customization, voice chat integration, in game lobby before and after game, I could go on...

A few people where posting about "expensive Heavies" and "P2W" and such. Since there's no more Repair-Costs how could it be expensive or P2W? Everyone will make CB in a match, noone is able to loose CB! It's the great equalizer.

Yes, it may be discussed if the economy change will bring us more Assauts onto the Battlefield. But I know lots of players who just LOVE their Commando (even before ECM :) ) or their Hunchy, Cent, Dragon etc. I don't think it was mostly CB who kept the "Big Guys" from the Battlefield, but personal preference.

Happy about the Dec 18th patch? Yes I am. This is my PatchMas :)

I don't know about you guys, but I've already earned three mechs (one medium, two heavies) that I have customized loadouts for and upgraded them completely without paying any money into this game. It didn't take THAT long. Once I got my first decent mech I just wanted to keep playing, and buying more mechs came along as a bonus to the fun I was having, But the repair/rearm costs did more than just take away your a bit of your money, they encouraged different styles of play and created more viable reasons to pilot a lighter mech IF you still want to earn money. And if you were piloting a beast of an assault mech or a catapult loaded with lrms, you had to decide whether or not to play conservatively at the risk of paying for a lot of lost mech and ammo tonnage. On the way up to getting my first heavy I shelled out for a light early on and had plenty of fun playing that on the way up. Now I kind of feel like if the economy was this way back then, I wouldn't have had a reason at all to buy a light on the way up, I would've just waited for my cool 7 million, got the mech and the upgrades that I wanted and pretty much been done earning anything useful. Progression and variation is effectively skewed.

Am I the only one to see that botters actually will rake in MORE money after the patch ?? No R&R,25k for loss + 25k for being last = 50k for 1 minute of time (connect mech to match - run into enemy to die - quitmatch - rinserepeat).

thats 500k in 10 minutes, quite impressive for a little mousemoving script, isn´t it ?

Like the changes, only the removal of R&R sucks from my PoV.
