I have been always a Supporter and i always tried to stay in the positive.. but with your new Economy adjustments, I am loosing it...
You just Killed the Role Warfare.
Your Economy concept departed from a sort of Simulation.
Incentives per Kills and no RNR and/or maintanance costs. You just Killed the entire MEDIUM class.
LIGHTS:
Good and useful. Mobility, Lag Shield, ECM capabilities
HEAVY:
Well, in case I wanna be a bit more mobile than Assault. LRM specific chassis. Did i mention when i ll make money i ll switch to Assault?
ASSAULT:
Incentives for Damages (*25 multiplier), Incentives per Kills (*25 multiplier), ECM capabilities, NO MAINTANANCE COSTS (handle a Commando or an Atlas has no more difference now)
MEDIUM:
WTF is that? Why should i even bother? if i really can t get an Assault (yet), i ll get an Heavy.
At MWO dawn we were talking about a MECH SIM experience, definetely we are departing from there, aren t we?

Am I the only one who thinks the Centurion should get an ECM slot? I'd run ECM and TAG on my centurion if I could. Yes, even in PUG matches.

If you do not know why or how to drive a medium, why bother? Just play something else.
/edit: Oh, and weight class distinction =/= role warefare (that has been dead ever since ECM arrived)

Artemis + endo + double heatsinks + ferro = a LOT of credits for repairs. with that going away i can run an amazing build without worrying so much about taking the usual beating or using my ammo on my SRMs
Also that makes the incentive to try out a Centurion D very high now. gigantic engine plus some low tonnage weapons seems really favorable.

I'd run ECM on anything that would fit it.
However, I'm going to take a wait and see approach to the economy changes. In the end, RNR was somewhat broken by the exploits. What this does do is change base capping from a viable strategy to a strategy only useful if the last guy on the other team ran off and hid (because he cared about his KDR).
Some of the sim aspects of the game have been lost though: in a sim there should be an incentive to staying alive, whereas now it's all about doing as much damage as possible, and if you die in that attempt then it's still okay as long as there's a net gain. However, I think this will be further tweaked going forward so I'm not too worried.

Still as someone else said ecm screwed. The entire game anyway so until they change that it will be hard to tell what impact this particular stupid idea will have.

Moving on, how is medium dead now? No more free RnR affects every mech, and since mediums can't carry the load of a heavier mech, they're not going to be spending as much cash; so they're more cost effective than a heavy or assault. As for the kill incentive...you get more cash from assists than you do kill shots so you don't have to be the pilot who cores the mech, you just have to help out (whihc is pretty much what mediums are supposed to do)...So how are mediums dead?
Apparently I read the RnR change differently than others (and I guess I'm wrong). I read it that the Free Repair was going away and you'd have to pay for all repairs from this point forward, but all mechs would be reparied and rearmed with the patch...oops.

A medium's job is generally to wait for the heavier mechs to engage, since they can't absorb as much fire, and then move in to assist where needed. Circle to hit vulnerable rear armor. Help concentrate fire on an injured target. Go after the light mechs that the heavies are having trouble hitting with their big slow weapons. Mediums have a role to play. If all you wanted from them was a cheap repair bill you could have done that with heavier mechs as well.

So the component damage bonuses and the kill assist bonuses will serve the Mediums well.

My repair bill totally determines my role on the battlefield. It has nothing to do with my loadout.

Your clan is living proof there has never been role warfare.
If anything, moving it like this, to where everybody who wants to be in X mech, without any directed punishments are made against the heavier classes, that are already punished indirectly by limited hardpoints, the heat system, how bad big energy weapons are, how incredibly difficult it is to break through lagshields, the red square capture, maintenance costs, no increased income for your investment, the best guns being able to fit on all the smaller mechs easily...
You get the point. I'm sure. Basically, you're iiving in a dream. We never had role warfare to begin with. There's more of a role warfare in counter-strike.
