If the location is not protected by CASE, damage beyond what that section can sustain is transferred to the next-most-central location ignoring armour and damaging that location's internal structure (repeat again, if the ammo was held in an arm or leg).

Giving *everyone* Free CASE (Or CASE II) is clearly the best solution. /eyeroll

WIN.
An ammo explosion can actually be scriped as an AoE* explosion. It'd be the same as detonating a bomb inside your Mech, so they can simply make it an explosion of certain force, just as if you get hit by artillery or a rocket with a massive warhead.
* - that's "Area of Effect" explosion, or an explosion that causes splash-damage to everything in a certain radius. If an ammo bin goes BOOM, then everything within 5 meters or so gets damaged... or something like that.

In his defense I will say only that not liking something and not wanting it implemented are two different things all together. I think this falls along the lines of "I don't like gravity because it makes me have to work getting around" I may not like it but know that it's useful and sure as hell wouldn't want to be without it!

Ah. I had not considered that interpretation.

It should at least be crippling, if you're gonnae slap the 'override shutdown' button you should be prepared for serious ramifications.
True, but I'm OK with that LT ammo explosion just taking my LT and LA. That's crippling enough I'd think? If they get too nasty with the ammo explosions, people simply won't use those weapons. Gotta keep all weapon systems viable.

That's what CASE is for. Half a ton and one critical spot keep the ammo explosion from going past the torso it's installed in. If you don't want to spend the extra weight or space, your eventual explosion in pretty fireworks is on you.
