When/if Merc units get implemented, there should be Merc Unit ratings that are in letter form based off Merc vs. Merc and Merc vs. House fights.
Just an opinion.

They are working on including more stats (which will be public), as well as a rating system (Elo). There's no reason for this information to not be public. Unless of course you talk a load of **** on the forums and when these stats hit you'll be discovered as a baddy.

Personal stats are fine, but make them something you have to look up. Having just the names of players in a match is enough.
Alaric strikes me as one of those FPS kids who brag about their prestige ranking like its a Badge of honor.
And before you bag on me, yes I suck. So get your shots in.

I've shared my actual stats plenty, if you care to look.
I have an ~amazing~ 3.3ish KDR.
I just don't like the elitism that comes with everyone looking at your stats, and immediately thinking they know everything about how you play, or looking at someone's stats and deciding to let them into a Merc Corp or not.
There's plenty of people on these forums I'd wager with massively inflated stats from disconnecting before death, or sync-dropping 8mans. I'd rather not give them any more incentive to do such.

Even WoT that SiLve00 pointed to tends to degrade into this behavior with W/L or something I always see shouting of "I bet your one of those 47%'ers" on the forum when someone complains (I haven't played WoT in a while but I read the forums at times so Im assuming it's W/L)
Bad enough MW:O people bash the PUG population already...

yeah the stats bashing were terrible... i didnt care with 69% winratio and effiency above 2k

still... as some1 who were a scout for new ppl.. it was realy nice and you didnt waste to much time to talk to bad ppl ( dont get me wrong.. bad were 98% of the WoT players to us .. we just did recruit very good ppl )
just check whats alaric the a. is writting

still i see more pro as contra with public stats... maybe if you invite ppl to your friendlist they can see your stats.. that would work for all ?
or an option... like : all / no1 / friendlist

Anyone who uses the word Baddy in a non-ironic way betrays their lack of maturity. But hey, this is the internet, so who am I kidding. E-peen AHOY!!!! Videogame cred FOREVAH!!!
I should probably post something relevant too. I don't particularly care who sees my stats, and if you do care about who sees them then I would suggest you chill out and consider why the opinions of anonymous people on the internet are in any way important.

Founder doesn't add anything only the founder mechs get a c-bill bonus. Title does nothing, and premium is 50% so on average 350ish. Not bad considering the games tend to be blow outs one way or the other. We either win and I have 200-400 dmg and 7 assists or we lose and I did 60 damage and maybe 1 assist.. Damn game be fickle

The only thing public ranking/stats would do is show who is "potentially good", since there wouldn't be a way to check if somebody dropped with a group or pug all day (Unless they have a stat for that too!).
It's just numbers.

I've got mixed signals here. I'm in agreement with your stance about stats, but dislike your use of the word Baddy since I usually see the word associated and often used by people who DO care about stats and use it for elitism. Perhaps your point was that the elitists themselves would be humbled by public stats?

My point is that the people who care too much about stats being hidden are usually those who have something to hide. It's usually the same people who talk big on the forums but can't back it up in-game.
