Conquest Mode Is A Complete Wash.

Seriously, this mode is a complete waste of time in a game like MWO. You need to be able to respawn for a "king of the hill" mode to be worth it, otherwise which team gets to be "king" is determined in the time-honoured manner of "we ha' the crown i'faith and will kill any whoreson who trys to take it away, by the Lord Harry!"

That was your screw up. you should not have engaged in a fight. You were stupid. He was intentionally slowing you down and he told the rest of the team where you were so they could kill you.
i have won and lost a number of games by points. Trick is never getting into a fair fight. If the other team has 7 mechs massed run from them adn take the caps. Refuse to fight on their terms

Yep without respawn, the importance of the objective capturing is completely lost, and the easiest way to win is just to kill the other team.

Maybe you didn't read what I said, but I was the only man left standing on my team. And just to emphasise the point, they had practically their entire team still intact (possibly LITERALLY their entire team). It did not make the tiniest bit of difference what it did at that stage.
My last game was EVEN WORSE. We took a commanding early lead on points and held it for almost the entire game- until they killed us all one by one and won by wipeout, just the same as EVERY other Conquest game I've played. Even in games where one team controls 4 or even all 5 points, they only do so because they're slaughtering their enemies and will wipe them out before they reach 750.
Conquest is just Assault with a couple of pointless extra icons on the battle map.

Mind you, I've been in plenty of games that were "won" by one team or the other reaching 750 points. But those games were actually won by destroying all of the Mechs on the other team but 1, and that 1 Mech then spending several minutes running around hiding. That's not Conquest, that's Hide-n-Seek.
We've stopped playing Conquest for the most part, mostly because it typically takes longer to play than Assault and you earn fewer c-bills per match. If you're trying to earn money, Conquest is a waste of time.

This would create a match where guerrilla tactics could come into play. It would be a great use for ECM and light lances instead of just a head to head smash fest.

I've been in a couple that came down to the wire on tickets, or where one team came back from the brink to almost win on kills and still lose on tickets. However, most games have just been one-sided slaughterfests like any other MWO match.
The slaughter is even worse because the mechanic encourages people to split into smaller groups. The team that doesn't do that usually crushes the one that does.

1) team deathmatch with 10 minute timer
2) when timer runs out, team with most kills wins
3) if kills are tied, team that did most damage wins

Nope... just add respawns to conquest mode.
I'm like 90% sure that if they did that 99% of the games played would be conquest.
Right now it is laughable that they called it Conquest as Conquest by definition has respawns AND a ticket system.

Conquest can be approached like a team deathmatch, but there is an alternate route to victory which emphasizes the attack and defense of resource nodes.

Kiddos who want respawns pls uninstall MWO, Ty. You are bad and you should feel bad, respawning won't help you.

If you want us to play TDM, just give us a proper TDM mode and be done with it. Then give us something with a real objective.

The Cicada pilot kept moving, didn't engage the blob and kept capturing points. Was a real nail biter to watch in the end, because the enemy team finally wised up and spread out to re-capture control points. The lone Cicada got our resource points up to 744 I think before he lost the initiative. Game wound up as a loss in the end with a score of 750 to 744.
Other than that, I've been in several games where a team that had lost the kill fight wound up winning the resource fight. I was on the losing end of one of those. We'd mopped up most of the enemy team but in our zeal to blow up other 'Mechs, we'd totally failed to pay attention to what was going on at the resource points. Boom. Lost.
In the beginning I was somewhat neutral on Conquest mode. Now that I've spent a lot more time with it I find it to be quite fun.

This has been pretty much my experience as well. I have played conquest a bunch and finally stopped the other day when I was in 2 back to back quest matches which were both 750 point wins and STILL ended up making less money than a losing match in Assault.
Even assault is broken in my opinion. If you want TDM then make a TDM mode. If you want Objective based matches then reward the objectives in the objective based games more than killing.
