1) Should I max out the engine (STD)? I love speed and I'm willing to compromise but 48.8 is way too slow.
2) I am a huge fan of LBX shotguns and HATE AC/UACs, could you recommend a build around LBXs?
3) Endo/FF/DHS? What to get and what not to?
Anything else?

Kal, I've given up on UAC5s after unsuccessfully trying to pilot a Direwolf many times.

3 SRM4
2 LBX10
2 ML
The heat was an issue so I dabbled with changing mediums to smalls and also removing an SRM pack.
Question, can the DDC be a brawler or is it destined to be more of a support assault? My alpha is less than 60 and while I can certainly hold my own against anyone sans a Dire Wolf, it does not feel like a true 100 ton killing machine.
Suggestions?

first config and didnt really touch it,except changing missiles, got S version and start running both more....
so i need 3rd...and i dont know which one to buy, im considering deviating from AC20 build in favor of dual
5 or maybe LBXes, something with a bit more range, just to have more diverse mech bay. So any suggestions
would be nice. thx.

Everything on my torsos are getting ripped off in brawls without the torsos being actually destroyed. This means that my AMS/ECM and LBX and SRM packs are being destroyed but my torso is intact.
I am running Endo Steel with standard armor. Is this happening because I lack FF armor or some other reason?

as for fight situation, there is no difference between standard and FF, point of armor is point of armor.
There are different versions of armor in battle tech, but not in MWO.
What you described is poster for standard engine advatage, having less crit points and occoupying
just CT, if you field XL engine (you would have more tonnage for weapons orbigger engine) but
you would be dead-since 3 crit hit on engine is expolosion and IS XL has 3 in each side torso, unlike
like ClanOnes which have 2 crit slot per torso.
The problem of DDC is it doesnt have CT weapon slot, so it cant zombie, like the rest of them.
Opponents know that...so torso twist and protect your main weapon with other side.

Nah, just unlucky crits man. LBX and SRMs occupy a lot of critical slots so especially if you're getting hit by low damage / high crit ratio weapons (such as LBX and Machine Guns) expect to lose guns before torsos.
Here's what I run: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...dcfb529fa9fcfe2
1x AC/20
3x SRM6 w/ Atremis
2x ML
STD 340 engine
5 tons AC/20 ammo
4.5 tons SRM6 ammo
13 DHS
ECM
Endo
To be honest, the ammo is excessive, but with endo on it's all you can fit to fill up the weight. At least it means you never run out ;D
You can tweak where the ammo is placed (head is tough to hit so maybe there). As far as heat management it's obviously not fantastic--positioning is really important because the range is also teeny so you need to get close without taking too many hits. ML are there for a bit of extra range and firepower, but once you're up close and brawling I'd advise using the AC/20 and SRMs exclusively. The SRMs generate about 15% heat and the AC/20 makes 10%--if you're just alpha-ing with those and then shielding, you should cool off enough between volleys to fire continuously, even without doubled basics. If you find yourself between 75-85% heat just use the AC/20.
You can stand toe-to-toe with even DWFs up close, if you shield well. Happy brawling

Just unlocked speed tweak for it last night so I'm at almost 58kph top speed. My favorite mech to play!

This is my pretty balanced build:
AS7-D-DC
2 LL, 4 ASRM4s, AC20, ECM - runs a bit hot, but as long as you don't go too crazy with your alphas, it's fine.

Low slung so you cant hill hump.
Explosive gauss near engine.
RT so easily targeted.
Using similar build that Dawnstealer posted , but mine is bit slower , with AMS.
