The images on the left are properly color graded and invoke a sense of grim war, tense atmosphere and emote.
The images on the right seem like they were run through a color balance filter on Photoshop that attempted to remove the color gradation, and give a sense of happiness, well-being, fun and other emotions that don't feel synonymous with mechanized warfare.

You think this is bad you should have seen closed BETA. First time I saw the game in closed BETA I thought it was the grey screen of death. I hope they get to the colors your pics had soon though.

You can either choose to follow the artists rendition and utilize these color gradations (my personal choice), or you allow users to strip all that away and remove the ambiance for the same of "ooooh, preeeetty."
River City god rays coming down from the citadel; the dark murky waters, the dull gray cityscapes of the architecture... these things are done for a reason; there is great cohesion in these maps; you can see a lot of time and effort went into them.

Oh, wait, I don't. Canw e have more colors, please?
I also would call the Dragon in the upper right one "Smaug", because it's clearly shot on Middle Earth (New Zealand).

My eyes really hurt trying to find a gray enemy on a faded horizon on most of the current maps (Frozen city at night I love so much your crystal clear air!).
So I'm forced to switch to a thermal vision and 90% of my MWO time I'm looking on a blue shadows over black background. It's really depressing and steals a lot of fun.
Devs, please, more light, more colors, more contrast! This game has a nice engine and shouldn't punish for not using a thermal vision.
