I want PGI to create a co-op PVE campaign within MWO, and not just one, but several unconnected campaigns witch detail most of Battletech's rich history..

Let us play solo or co-op, against AI opposition, with real-game impact.

They could do this along with tournaments and special challenges like the phoenx and founder challenges we had lately..

I personally would like them is make a short campaign that functions like a tutorial that comes with the account for free. It will basically end with them being dropped off at Solaris IV to do whatever.

I would then like to see them sell campaigns on an individual basis. Plus they can add variety by setting these campaigns in different time periods, restricting weapons mechs and varients and maybe bundling it with a basic/champ/hero mech.

Coop is a must, with the owner of the campaign being party leader.

Great ideas, you should post them in the most desired improvements thread.

I would like to see it integrated into MWO since all singleplayer games get a multiplayer added to them. Otherwise the new game ends the old game and this has always been the case. Zipper Interactive was working on a second expansion to MechWarrior 3 and MW3 Pirate's Moon when MS pulled the plug on development to transition to MechWarrior 4 which was coming out 7 or 8 months later. Also the online only MBT 3025 which was still in Beta, but playing very well.

MWO needs some PvE missioning anyway and it could tie in to Factions and Merc Units.

Heck, I made some MechWarrior 4 SP missions, I took my old website down though since MW4 is no longer available. One is awesome, I still play it every now and then. In it you lead seven and eventually nine mechs to intercept three destroyers as they transit a shallow channel with an escort of 8 mechs and six reinforcing mechs. It becomes quite a challenge to defeat the mechs and then catch the 3 destroyers before they escape. Sort of like one of those MechCommander Gold missions, but you pilot a mech. Basically, the mission had a script and each mech had a script with the variables adapted to the role it played.

Anyway, took about a month to put together with the map I made earlier ("Big Islands"), but I had to learn how to write the mission script in the process.

But, yes, MWO needs some PvE SP and MP missons.

Russ Bullock has already mentioned with the launch of CW Phase II that they are planning on adding some kind of single player component. It is still a ways off, and not currently being worked on, so there are no specifics about how it will work, but it is coming.

I would see it work as follows:

free tutorial missions for all.

then release campaigns for each house or clan which would be purchased for say $10 each (relatively short 30 min missions with total content of about 2 hours).

The campaigns would include co-op missions and all players would need to own content to play (or perhaps have premium time active).

Playing through single player would earn c-bills and experience but only once a week and maybe a Mech the first time it is completed.

co-op missions will earn c-bills and experience once a day.

The development of the AI for this would benefit all parts of the game.

The maps can be added free to the pvp part.

a pve game would give a chance for all the non table top people. to get informed on the lore and history of the CBT universe. some people act care about this stuff.

Check out the tutorial, it's got some new PvE stuff, you can fight waves of A.I. mechs, etc.

I voted "yes" for the single-player-campaign, but "no" for the founder thingy, because, PGI.

Sorry guys, first you make it, then I´ll buy it - not the other way around.

Single-player with Coop. That is integrated into MWO/Alternate launcher that doesn't cost any money. I would support through kick starter. Thinking along the lines of MW4: Mercenaries.

NO, because PGI needs to fix too much in their multiplayer game.

NO, because PGI.

No, no and no. It's simple - when they pay attention to solo scenario then you must forget about new mechs, new maps, new balance modifications, new weekend events and new monthly patches. It is not EQUAL exchange for the campaign.

Having a single player game...MW Activision back in the late 80's (which was a single player game) brought us to current MWO. Yes single player games can become redundant, but they do many thing's to improve player ability and understanding...it also allows players ( newbie's especially ) the opportunity to gain skill and resource's via salvage. Repeat salvage's could then be auctioned off for C-Bill's. On the Current concept of MWO's FPS also becomes redundant and with no real salvage to sell / use makes the over cost of play frustrating and limiting...very much like IGP did with "MechWarrior Tactics", which became a fail.
So...Yes, they should build a single player (or PVE) mission's and not just tutorial's.

Either MWO is barely paying the bills or it's making money hand over fist for minimal effort input. I'm honestly not sure. I think the constant rollout of mechs indicates a heavy profit stream, my friends think it's just a desperate effort to keep the game running. I know for sure that premium time isn't a very useful draw, so I'm not sure which is the truth.

Whichever is the truth, they have the same result - MWO has not provided any incentive at all to make a better game. No one else is developing Battletech ANYTHING. If you're still here, still buying mechs, still playing despite complaints...just because of the flavor and equipment names, you're part of the reason there isn't a single player game or a better MWO.

Yes, I'm part of that problem too. I bought IIc mechs because they had almost no downsides and I was still very angry over the changes to Grid Iron right after I bought it. The IIc will eventually get clan level nerfs and cease to be as fun as they are now. It's the last thing I'll buy in MWO. I'm not paying for content improvements that should have been here two years ago.

The original creator of BattleTech is currently working on a new BattleTech game (http://www.pcgamer.c...in-development/), so yes, there are others creating new BattleTech content.

And for those who haven't been present during the last few town hall meetings, PGI is already in the process of developing a single player campaign mode. The first steps of which, as someone earlier mentioned, is the Mechwarrior Academy they released a number of months ago. The PvE aspects of MWO are still very far away as far as completion date goes, but the necessary components are something that PGI has already begun to produce and Russ has already committed PGI to completing. So whether you like the idea or not, PvE is coming, it's just a matter of when. The sense I've gotten from the town hall meetings is that it's likely still a couple years away, but it is coming.
