I don't understand why people wouldn't bother to shoot me rockets off . . .

I feel there should be a combat training manual for Mech engagements. I have something in the works but it will take a little time to write it all up.

But that's not the problem, the problem is that Streak Cats barely need any aiming skill at all.

they simply can not see you , not even thinking about aiming at speciffic parts on your mech, if you chainfire ssrm at there frontside there whole cockpitview is filled with flames and smoke , there fps drops below 10 ´so even if they guess who is shooting them and where that mech is they can no longer aim at all. if your targets team dont notice the situatiion and start to shoot at you he has not the smallest chance of survival and they have only 30 seconds to do so.
you fired a stunn gun at them with a 30 second timer to a heartattck
and guess what, he will die without arm leg or head dammage so much for the prommissed dammage spread

If they ever disconect Pugs from Premades completley, different ballance mechanics will apply to each group leading to more of these "the answer to such and such is easy" threads. Seriously, we have been through all of this before, premade groups have an answer for every strategy you can employ to counter the Streak Cat. You stay and fight it kills you, you turn and run, a light mech cuts you down, you try to hit the Streak Cat first, you cant there is an Atlas in the way, and so many others it would be impossible to list them all. And the only way to reliably kill a streak cat is with VOIP and focus fire, the current streak target becomes a sacraficial lamb, he cant always be saved, he can only get lucky, hence why the streak cat is OP.

That's by far the biggest driver of nerf calls on streaks... they are cheap... cheaper still if you cheese out and boat them.
There are a lot of things that could be done to help balance them, but more than any direct 'debuffing' they need to add a skill requirement into them. A crappy pilot should be just as effective with SSRM 2's as they are with half the number of SRM6's currently thats not the case. When people can just 'throw together a streak cat' and suddenly lead the scoreboard in kills and damage its an indicator of something not quite right with the balance.

2 matches that i fought today in my dragon.
first one i try exactly what he said (SHOOT HE'S EARS OFF, JUST 2 ALPHAS AND ITS DONE), by luck of fate, got him one on one, the rest of his team was busy killing the rest of my team somewhere else (did i mention i had 2 afks on my team???). so ok, no worries, no back up for him, still at distance. note that i'm a brawler, no LL's or gauss to snipe then safely from distance like so many brilliant posts out there preach. fire 1 full alpha on his pod, hit it all and turn my torso to spread his salvo. he uses his JJ and before i have time to turn and try to aim my next alpha i'm dead. so yeah, briliantly easy, just shoot the ears off. sure.
second match decide on the don't get below 270m approach. guess what??? he run faster than my 86 kph dragon, so i CAN'T run off of him and got cored, again, by him alone.
so sorry, all these easy tactics to kill streak cats are ********. only real viable tactic is have a premade group on your said and focus fire on the SOB before he cores you. and if he is on 4 streak cats group? hope you find that out before they kill you and run for cap.
REALLY DOUBT any of these said streak cat killer ever played solo. or ever played at all.
there, said it, as politely as my anger permit. now why don't you guys prove me wrong with VIDEOS of you easy killing streak cats again and again instead of posting made phrases like "its easy, just shoot his ears off" or "stay beyond 270m".

yeah well I still hunt down these streak guys because no one else will, in my AC20 hunchie. They go down with a face shot easy, plus they're only 65 tons, not that big of a heavy.

they dont do too much dammage , they stop you from shooting back while hitting 80-90% ct and 10-20% left and right torso.
so no nerf to ssrm dammage rof heat cost etc necesary, tone down the smoke flames shake untill you can actualy still see something and still can shoot back in a controled manner and make them spread dammage as prommised!
