Good design and a sad reminder of something that MWO still misses (fast jumping medium).

That is a good looking Stinger! I really hope they add it to the game, I want to fight Commandos with it. Though I doubt I could fit an AC2 on the right arm to bring it back to the Veritech standard though...
Thanks. No chance of seeing any of these mechs in the game though. They'd really rather just side step legal wrangling in the courts irrespective of how likely they are to succeed. Also, the original stinger never had an AC2... it has a medium laser and 2 machine guns.

Cheers. It is mosquitoish, and quite insectoid... but it definetly makes me think 'Locust' still, and makes you think similarly

Cheers. I think I might have to revisit the Phoenix Hawk after I'm done with the rest. In some respects, it's kinda cool... but on the flipside, it's lacking an important element of good design; a certain rhythm and balance to the details. Too many details, and the overall silhouette is basically a quarterback in football gear. Too humanoid. Admittedly, the Veritechs are quite humanoid, but they still had their own distinct robotic qualities.
Anyway, here's my very belated take on the Shadow Hawk. I wasn't actually happy with it for a long while, hence I stopped work on it. But then I finished shading it and coloured it up. Seems to work quite well. Retains much of the qualities of the original Shadow Hawk with new blockier but more workable details. Weapons are also more realistically sized: medium laser is now a medium laser sized weapon. You can see the SRM2 on the head. And LRM-5 Pack also appears.
Sharp eyed among you might realize the weapon locations are flipped. I flipped them to draw them more easily... but forgot to flip the image pack to add the text on it. Not a big deal hopefully!
Cheers. No new designs for a while. But going to try model up the marauder and warhammer in 3D.

your drawing skills are really impressive, i especially LOVE your marauder, this one`s a beast!
however, sadly, i think it is STILL not different enough though...
the warhammer also looks relly cool, but the feet arent "bulky" enough imho.
im also missing the helmet like "roof" the original warhammer hat, i really think that was the most prominent feature on this mech, since it looks like an opened helmet visor of a knights armor.
the stinger looks way to much "mecha" me thinks. could be the colour though...
the phoenix hawk looks astonishing! but not like a battletech battlemech unfortunately. its not "military" looking enough, imo
the battlemaster is ready to go!
But dude, the marauder...damn, i want it!
edit: just saw the shadow hawk, thats awesome! perhaps the over shoulder weapon ( isnt it supposed to be an ac5? looks more like a large laser, even too small for a ppc imo) is a bit small.
my 2 cents.

edit 2: could you please update your op and put the shadow hawk and phoenix hawk and any subsequent designs into the OP? makes it easier to keep track of your designs
thank you in advance

Remember how I said there was no good Shadow Hwak renedition to date? I think I can safely declare that statement false now. There are a few nitpicks I'd have about the design, but I'm not an art person, so don't mind.
Thanks for making the best looking Shadow Hawk the world has ever seen. HG probably wouldn' allow it, but screw them, this looks better than their animeish crap.
Simply awes... amazing!
Give me a second... ... okay, I'm fine now...

AC/5 barrel is actually quite small. Look at the Dragon's barrel, or the UAC/5 barrels, where all three are basically separate AC/5 barrels. Definitely not a large weapon.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm still quite proud of the Marauder. Should be fun to model it up in 3D. But the complex form will make it a little tricky (normally, I model architectural spaces... not so many compound curves in those).
And will do on the suggestion - I've been meaning to update the OP, but have kinda just forgotten about it.

Thanks a lot glad you enjoy the design. Hopefully I'll get around to a 3D remake of it in a not too distant future.

nah, tha diameter of the "barrel" is okay, the weapon is not LONG enough. it looks like the short barrel of an energy weapon, especially the square shape of the barrel screams "PPC". if you look at the recent tro art, square barrels are mostly energy weapons while long, barrel shaped weapons are acs.

This is a fair comment. At the very least, I'll have to modify it so that it's in line with the Marauder that I've drawn at a later date. That said, the barrel is actually round... it just has a square sleeve over it. Artistic license and all that; but it's a simple enough task to make it rounded.

Recent TRO art doesn't depict ArmstrongJ11 AC/5. Keep in mind the differrence in design between different manufacturers, like the water cooling holes on Vindicator's PPC, while most PPCs don't have such a feature.

Ideally I'd say, reference MWO's Cataphract for the lower body design. As far as I understand from lore the Cataphract's lower body was essentially made from surplus Marauder parts.
I'd say you're a much better artist than me since I'm not very good at converting my imagination to paper on with a pencil, but if you'd like to try something like what I have in mind, here's my weaksauce basic-shapes sort of picture.

That being said the Phoenix Hawk, though very sleek and cool looking, reminds me too much of a Gundam style giant stompy robot with the way you implemented the sweeping crests from its head and the big jets on his back seem a little small in comparison to the original design, but overall I like it. He just seems a tad ostentatious to me, but I feel that way about 'Mech's like the Hatamoto-Chi, so maybe it's just a personal thing XD
Keep up the good work!

I especially like the Locus and Shadow Hawk.
I'd love to see some drawn in a combat environment.

I suggest an extreme fast mech (e.g. 170-180kph) no torso twist but an incredible acceleration and anchor turn ability.
