Both games appear to have their share of rabid defenders who refuse to countenance anything at all could possibly be wrong, despite all evidence to the contrary.

It's a sad indictment when pgi locks and deletes posts that they feel hold this game in a unfavorable light, yet they let their fan posters get away with insulting and flaming people with personal attacks like posts above. OP just discussed the game, then pgi dogs start barking. Kudos to OP for a relevant contructive post that most of the readers agree with, from the looks of the poll. Don't worry about the pack hounds, that's their purpose.

I wonder how many founders activated their premium time or haven't activated it yet.

I, for example, have, but not because I believe that the game is good yet. I did simply that - eiuther it stays bad, then I won't be playing it in a few months anyway, and the premium time will stay unused, or it gets better, and then I am willing to spend more money on the game.

Nah, I would be careful with using post deletions as "proof" tha tsomething is wrong. It is not uncommon for negative critique to be also posted in anger or at least inviting angry posters and conflict, leading to violation of forum rules. That happens on every forum I've ever been. It's usually a matter of tone, not content.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Customer

"A customer (also known as a client, buyer, or purchaser) is the recipient of a good, service, product, or idea, obtained from a seller, vendor, or supplier for a monetary or other valuable consideration."

When he received his Founder's refund, he ceased being a customer, because FYI, crying on a forum is not a "valuable consideration."

Now he's just a random whiner.

Can you read, thats from over a year ago.

It's probably just because they're not in the office yet.

Still very early on the west coast.

If its still 2012 in Texas, then Canada's probably still celebrating Christmas 2011.

And yes, I read that, and I don't have any problem with it.

But actions speak louder than words. Fact stands that plenty of people asked questions and pointed out their previous timeline.

Their reaction to this was to go and delete everything and revise all their old posts.

If you can't see how that doesn't inspire confidence, then fine, we're never going to agree, so why not just leave the thread. Like one of the earlier posters said, go play the game if you're happy about it.

If anything is "killing this game" it's people who have set their expectations too high making a fuss.

That's a fair statement, until you take into consideration who put out those expectations in the first place.

Not like we strapped Paul naked to a chair and threatened him with sharp objects until he promised us community warfare.

The trouble with that of courseMalice is that you clearly know nothing about software development, or project management, or economics, or anything else that might inform your spit covered points.

Guys! Please man...I'm not a MOD here but FFS, I want to discuss this without the flaming! You're going to get this post locked and people will just dismiss it as more flame r e t a r d e d ramblings of people who can't discuss a topic rationally.

When you look at who starts the personal attacks on these posts, after seeing it over and over, maybe it's the 'white knights 'new modus operandi? Hijack negative threads and get them locked, taking one for the team?

Its fine Tice, its only Malice who's really trolling. As long as no one goes and starts going down to his level, they shouldn't lock the thread. Wouldn't be surprised if that's his intention though, which is why I'm refraining from replying to his insults.

No, I just searched the forum for "Community Warfare" and posted the top link because I thought that was the latest one, which was actually in October.

My point still stands.

Go get prescribed some Adderall for your ADD.

If only you knew the irony of your post...

And Malice, I found this gem in your posting history:

Having looked over the forum history I've noticed that during closed beta the devs were very much more interactive with the community than lately. We would hope that means that they're all hard at work making this the greatest MechWarrior combat game ever.

I do feel though that more regular interaction with us would be enjoyable. There are a number of issues with this that I see, however:
  • This is generally an incredibly ascerbic community. During many of the closed beta discussions the playerbase were outright hostile and rude to the developers. That kind of abuse is frankly unacceptable.
You're one to talk about irony when you're fostering the exact kind of behaviour you accuse people of.

Maybe not quite this. But it does show a lack of patience. Plus what if the individual being attacked IS on Adderall? Making comments like that are only designed to be hurtful and show no desire to be constructive.

Did any of you read this https://mwomercs.com/terms

I beta test a lot of games and it seems that beta fatigue has set in really early here at MWO. Just so you all know PGI doesn't have to respond in anyway to your complaints or threats. Its all in the Terms of Service. Sure they may lose you die hard BT/MWO but there are probably 2 or 3 people like me to replace you each of you. This is my first MW game and its going to be great but not perfect.

The job of the beta tester is to play the game and report bugs make suggestions. Even if you gave them money, your job is still the same. If PGI doesn't listen to your suggestions in your time line, its probably time for a break, and play something else for awhile. Betas on F2P can last 2-3 Years. Its a different business model then the standard pay and play game. You are (and I know its hard to believe) ultimately getting a game actually made for PC and not a console port. So the difference between beta tester and player in the F2P world is like this

Beta tester makes suggestions - keeps playing

Player Demands Change, Threatens to quit, Rages .....rinse repeat......and still keeps playing for some reason only the can answer.

Its gonna be OK everyone really.

Cheers see you in the caldera
