Just Came Back After A 3 Month Hiatus...

I apreciate a reasonable response Galaxy, allow me to respond to a couple of your points. As far as why the player counter was removed is only speculation to all of us but Devs did make a post with a graph showing participation and on that there was an increase, should we take that as truth or shall we call them liars?. Cadet Bonus was that a last ditch effort or a realisation that it would improve first player experience? me i think they learn as they go so im betting it was to improve.
Now a point i would like to make is that there are players that leave as in all games not everyone enjoys this type of specialised game, i had 2 very close friends leave but it wasnt faults with the game it was simply they couldnt get use to playing the game itself ( moving in one direction and looking another, the actual aiming etc. etc). There are also people with litle patience.
Look im not saying the game is perfect far from it its a work in progress there are legitimate issues BUT to come here and blatantly Diss the game, Devs and everything else time and time again and confuse potential comunity with doom and gloom and unsubtantiated conjecture helps no one..

Despite not having played Conquest, the OP is still right about it. The only way to consistently win is to run in a blob and basically just end up in a big brawl. If you spread out at all to cap more nodes quickly and the other team is in a blob, you will get steamrolled. Yes even now with points accruing faster. It's still not fast enough to make fast capping actually viable.

well said and i hope the doom and gloom community looking at the negative aspects of facts in whatever shape or form they may be in are in the minority. i like being in the minority if i'm totally wrong. so thanks for being reasonable and not turning this into a flaming match, it usually does so i was kinda geared for that. happy to be proven wrong if wrong is so so wrong. however i don't feel like i'm in the minority and i feel more players are hurting from many issues and are thinking of keeping away from the game like the op's 3months haitus.

It's nice to see one of the 'we're all doomed, doomed I tell ye' crowd able to see a bit of reason. As for conquest, if you go at it in pairs of fast mechs it is possible to cap out. If players are too stupid to realise you get more profit for capping that is hardly the games fault.

I never claimed it was perfect, but the game has moved on since CB and while not every one is happy it is still popular. As an aside, each new mech gives individuals and groups more leeway to run the way they like. There will always be min maxers that will always follow the mech of the moment. It is part of every Internet game I know, and it is sad that some try to make out the MWo is an isolated case in this concern.

Play the game, but don't make it your life. If you loose interest or get frustrated play something else. When I do this I always find myself heading back for more MWo. Just my 2p on this.
