Why the hate for Clans?

Jade Falcon at least rolled off the tongue. Smoke Jaguar was on the nose. Some of the other names--well, I guess good taste just isn't a priority in the gene pools.

Okay so what if you prefer peace over war but will fight for what you believe in no matter what the odds are.
In any case, no being has the right to choose the fate of another sentient being - each of our paths is meant to be of our own choosing.
And I consider myself to be a better hope than a bunch of dogs.

Clan Society
Five, Nicholas proclaimed, was the foundation
upon which our true society was to be built.
Laborers to till the land, to do the tasks;
They shall have our undying gratitude,
for they are the muscle behind us all.
Merchants to buy and sell with fairness;
They shall have our commerce and respect;
for they are the bones upon which we are built.
Technicians to build and fix the machines;
They shall have our admiration;
for they are the fingers with which we grasp life.
Scientists to create and discover;
They shall have our awe and our attention;
for they are the mind of our society.
And above all, the Warriors who protect;
They shall have our cooperation and our worship,
for they are the blood and soul of us all.

Trials by combat, duels to settle disputes... they were mechwarriors with integrity and honour. You cant buy a through and through clanner, he cares more for his honour.
As for the unbalanced weapons and mechs... the whole point was a superior enemy that forced the IS to cooperate and step up to the challenge. Taught them how to be resourceful and not so petty... if the clans invade in MWO, i can't wait to be outgunned... victory is all the sweeter when you defeat a superior enemy.

The animals after which the Clans were named already had these names; they did not 'add a mineral', lol.

Yeah.... screw worship... No sentient being should ever be held above another, we're all equally prone to mistakes, and we each have flaws. One can serve another out of their own free will, but none should ever be forced to do so, whether physically, socially, emotionally, spiritually, or mentally.
In any case, outside of that social standard, along with the prosecution against so called "freebirths"... which is quite stupid I might add; it is because of chaos that things improve, through change comes the chance for something greater. I.E. preserving a bloodline in a controlled environment with only a select group of subjects actually decreases the chance for new genetic vectors come out; but just the lack of respect for a fellow sentient being is appalling. Of course, the clans are not the only ones guilty of this, most if not all government systems are...

Beyond that I don't really have a problem with the clans, and I applaud the honor system for the most part.

I also like how they still claim they are superior in any possible way even after their grand invasion was stopped, even after an entire clan was anihilated, and even after the clans best lost horribly to the IS forces in the great refusal.
Must be nice living in denial that despite having the better tech, despite having the "superior" pilots, despite the IS having challanged them on their own terms after their own rules... they still lost badly.
And yet... we still have people hollering about that the clans are soooooo great.

1) So a year after launch, all of the weapons and components you have been playing for will become second class and inferior.
2) If the Clans become a playable faction (and I don't see why they wouldn't, at least most of them) a large percentage of the player base might switch. Some people think that only a chosen amount of players will be able to become Clan, but that doesn't really make sense (unless Clan is supposed to be some kind of endgame thing). That means the Clan players will have a difficult time getting into matches vs the IS due to less people playing them. Not to mention the people who stay in their House will have a lot fewer comrades to do anything with.
3) If the Clan players don't dominate the IS there will be complaints that it isn't following canon since the Clan pilots are supposed to be superior. However, The IS players will have a year worth of 'chassis experience' while the Clanners will have 0. Exactly what 'chassis experience' means is unknown yet, but it could be reduced heat from weapons, extra range, lowered cost of weight, more damage, which would partially negate the Clan's advantages.
4)New players joining after the invasion would always choose Clan over IS- Only makes sense if they start with better equipment than a noob joining the IS the same day.
5) If Clan tech is not immediately available to everyone when it first comes out, but is kept to 'canon timeline' (based not on my own knowledge, but what another had said upthread) it would take 10 years from now for it to be easily available to the IS players. Who wants to be outclassed for 10 freaking years?
On the whole, this entire game has set very ambitious goals for itself, and I look foward to seeing how it all plays out!

Not to mention that most, if not all of them, are just plain obnoxious and unlikeable.
As messed up as the Inner Sphere is, it has character. The Clans hate on the Inner Sphere, too. All in all it's a huge mess that could possibly have been avoided if the Star League had been administrated better.

Exactly why I am glad that MWO is starting pre-Clans. The 3040s were a heady time for the Inner Sphere, capped off by the entrance of a mysterious (from '49 through '50 before they were fully understood) unstoppable force.

you are rich there... i find you distasteful and woefully ignorant of what it is to be a Clan Warrior. We are not the 'easy' mode you claim. We fight against heavy odds when ever we can. We willingly give YOU the numbers advantage in any fight. You claim you have real honor, yet you bemoan us what you THINK we are. Worse you show us no respect and mock what we stand for. Kerensky was right. You InnerSphere people are the ignorant barbarians who think yourselves civilized and wise. We of Clan Wolf shall teach you, We are Star League INCARNATE.

Hahaha people like me.... look theirs politics in everything... they wouldnt be human if there were not power hungry ******** amongst them. I guess i am just in love with the whole fighting for honour. Like Samurai, theyd kill themselves if they dishonoured their master. Thats devotion and respectable.
That said, I am more interested in fighting against them than getting a Timberwolf and playing the aforementioned "easy mode". Only way Id use a clan mech is if I killed a clanner for it and salvaged it.... then I atleast earnt it in a sence.

Passage 272, Verse 8, Lines 11-19
Operation Revival
Then the order came, 'furl the sails.
ready for jump, mighty warriors.
We journey back, we journey home,
carrying the flame of the Star League
back to the hearth. We face the ignorant
who believe themselves civilized and strong,
but they will soon discover otherwise.
We are the Clans, the Star League incarnate.
None can stand against us and survive.

Now now. Some of us have true honor. Rather than sneak up and destroy Jade Falcon at night in MW4 Mercs, I always choose for a Trial of Possession. While I respect what the Clans stand for at present, I don't agree with leaving us all to our fates. Or invading our homes.

last time i checked, that was a raid by some mercenary freeborn trash. A Wolf would call them out for a trial of possession thank you.
