I feel that the MWLL guys made something outstanding - they have all right to feel proud of it.

I know how it works Mr Condescending. Luckily I am still free to disagree with the legal and property 'system' you allude to and voice that opinion. I just hold a different value set to you.

Unless someone quotes a IGP rep stating it was them that kill the LL non-commercial, please refrain from senseless bashing of unknown parties.
Go read Maus's earlier post in this thread. At least you can get a quote from one party. Others on the MWLL dev team have said the same. I suggest you ask PGI to clarify it further for you if you don't want to take what others have said on face value.

In fact, Microsoft owns the rights and IGP is paying licensing to them.

Gotcha.
You're being purposely obtuse, or you're just stupid.
Of course MS revoked the non-commercial license they had granted for a property with no monetary competitor once a monetary competitor entered the equation. MWLL had to know it would happen eventually.
And if they didn't, they were either naive or stupid.

LL was terrible and unbalanced with crappy animation like 99% of all total conversion mods. Microsoft revoked their FREE license.
Get over it.
According the forums and your statements, MWO isn't very balanced either. M$ did no such thing, but keep on keepin on. Why be right when it's so easy to be wrong?

Another person who just doesn't understand how it works. If it were your many many millions of dollars on the table, I would guess you would also not be so quick to let the Freebee folks carry on. As noted else where, the non-commercial was granted by MS and thus it would be them that would have to revoke it. If the LL crew were to ask IGP, perhaps some discussions could be had.
Unless someone quotes a IGP rep stating it was them that kill the LL non-commercial, please refrain from senseless bashing of unknown parties.
P.S. No...wait, This is the internet. One doesn't have to know anything on here, least being the facts or truth. My bad. Carry on.
Another person who doesn't know.
Quoting could end badly for certain people involved.

...really? Thats your angle?
Even for a troll you're stretching. What you just described is damn near every video game journalist out there. Does PGI also own PC Gamer?
I'm not saying they bought a lot of praise for their quite obviously not finished game, and that they didn't pay extra to hype features that won't be in for a very long, or that hawken did the same, but...
They both paid a lot of money for their reviews.

You're perfectly OK with a million-dollar company killing off a game (which isn't even a source of competition - MWLL had like 150 players on at once at the height of its popularity).
People have worked on MWLL for SIX YEARS. It's created careers and it restored faith in the MechWarrior franchise, which was long dead when MWLL came out.

If anyone on the MWLL team had a couple million dollars, they might have. But MWLL was made on a budget of probably $1000 tops (for software).

Because it gets grognards all mouth-frothy and indignant.

The real tragedy here is that PGI didn't need to. The games are so radically different they could both exist and not really compete with each other, just pull more people into the Btech universe.

I read the Post from the LL Dev group. It stated the owners of their Dev Team cancelled it. Who owns the LL Dev group?
As point of interest. It is not condescending to point out another failings. It is, though, in poor taste to somehow feel slighted, but that is the usual response from one who knows the other party is very likely correct in the assessment provided.
As I noted already. Carry on with the Internet way...
