1: The lack of communication. For a prominent example, two Ask The Devs threads have been and gone while they pointedly ignore all the questions about ECM. The module, while I consider it badly overpowered, isn't a gamebreaker for me, but the head-in-sand reaction makes me hesitate, because it doesn't point to a healthy relationship between developers and players.

2: The lack of new content. The release rate for new mechs is glacial, and the lack of maps makes all games feel very samey.

3: Most of my clan seem to have vanished a while ago for War Thunder / Planetside.

I'm getting close to just going away for a couple of months, and coming back to see what's happened in my absence.

I get this too. I'm sure it's the computer.

Its not. My brother has an Alienware and the game is nearly unplayable on his laptop. I have Dell inspiron that can't run the game without lag yet my last computer which is even worse could. Something is wrong with the game not the computers.

I am sick of the matchmaker placing me against groups on comms in succession, made that much more worse with the introduction of ECM, and coordinated ravens/ddc's, that FORCE me to play an ECM mech while pugging to have a better shot at winning.

I usually give it 2 or 3 trys a night. If the matchmaker starts screwing me, I quit. I have 25 or so mechs, and feel I'm shooting myself in the foot if I don't use an ECM one, and that is booring.

My friends that have all given up on this game are playing Chivalry ATM, so I can always hang out over there. The matchmaker pissed them off too... so there's your new player experience.

-netcode

-lack of a good communication tool - namely integrated voip. A chat system that worked would be good too.

-lack of quick commands

-"community" sucks. bunch of elitist idiots.

-lack of mech variety in matches, mostly due to how ECM is implemented

-lack of game modes

-matchmaker

-bugs that don't get fixed (netcode, hud issues, disconnects)

ECM has deffinetly made alot of mechs obsolete I play hunchbacks but rarely see them anymore mediums are more or less dead from the game apart from the ECM cicada. I miss the days where ECM was not here.

I, too, miss the days of being annihilated by SSRMs and LRM barrages with no hope of retribution. /s

ECM (with an explanation) I like what ECM did to missile superiority, but hate what it did to every other aspect

And lack of content - I can only play on the same maps and the same game type for so long. (And sry PGI, your two game types are virtually identical.)

For a couple of months, I didn't play as much as I'd played previously because I was crashing to desktop every other match and losing c-bills on the repairs from having my disco mech dismantled piece by piece. Once the CTD issue was fixed though, I still didn't feel like playing much. I've been playing these four maps since closed beta days, but the game held my interest because each match was a little different due to engagements at a variety of ranges. There was a reason to build mechs that could engage at various ranges. The present implementation of ECM changed engagement range to toe-to-toe brawling for the most part, and while I enjoyed brawling as a part of the game, I got bored with it being the majority of the game. That, coupled with the continued absence of knockdowns, and the jump jet nerf has made it not only boring, but frustrating as well. Not my idea of fun.

I'll still play an hour or so a day, but MWO is going to have to make some major improvements for me to be devoting more time than that to it.

If asked by V&tH, I might play.

Of my own accord, will continue to read patch notes and check in quarterly.

The stuff that is in is nice but needs more stuff.

Sadly I have been playing less and less. Down to not spending another dollar for anything till something gets fixed. Netcoding, ranking in matches and to much time getting items for sale and not fixing the game. They know about the netcode and what they do? release another light mech and biggest laugh so far....If its true. A hero light mech with 2 med lasers in each arm. No missle points and for the clincher no ECM. For me I like ECM. Makes the skill less LRM boats work now. They ranking system is complete joke now. An AFKer gets ranked 5th with no damage. I even seen 47 damage and 1 kill out rank 6 assists and 600 damage. Go figure. For me since I started playing 3 months ago. Game is going backwards. I enjoy this game but not the direction it is going.

-Lack of game modes. [oh look, TDM... thats never been done before]
-Lack of game modes. [conquest, Lol... good try PGI. TDM with sprinkles on top]
-Lack of maps.
-Netcode.
-Unit collision
-Flavor of the month weapon balancing which leads to a lack of variety. [so, what becomes overused once streaks get fixed?]
-ECM. [We know better than the lore we say we would stick too!]
-Better games to play.
-Lack of motivation. (no CW) [Farm for mechs, XP, and C-bills? zzz.]

Coupled with pretty much all the same reasons i have hardly played multiplayer games over the past decade. They all reek of the same problems, just in a different package.
Beating the snot out of other players for the lulz isnt interesting to me in the slightest. And in the games current state, that's all it has to offer, And it doesnt even do that very well.

#1 Netcode The game is simply unplayable. When spectators on my team see me fighting they wonder why I am firing my weapons at a target that has already run around behind me. Sure, I have a 250-300ms ping from Australia but I have the same ping in WoT and I can play that on the US servers just fine.
#2 Netcode
#3 Netcode
#4 ECM. It does far more than it should. It is meant to be a counter to the fancy missile targeting upgrades not an impenetrable wall against all missile fire.
#5 Sundry other odd design and weapon balance choices. As each was announced I was left thinking 'OK, I would have done that differently', when considered as an ensemble I am left going WTF?!
#6 Not just a new map but a BIGGER one.

- Burnout
- No mechs that currently wow me enough to play them
- Maps are the same (have you ever had deza, deza, deza, deza vu?)
- Maps are too small and game play is too limited to allow for role warfare
- Tired of people abusing ECM, Netcode, and Streak stupidity

net code.
no lobby.
no community warfare besides the forums.
forum posts deleted.
moderation "stalkers"
still no joystick support.
it is less of a game than many game mods which are now dead
the unwillingness or inability to maintain a production schedule
the horrid priority choices.
kill one bug by creating 3 more development approach
IGP apathy towards the product but not the money
PGI apathy or ineptitude towards the product.
the community in general
my own total accrued apathy towards this game given the above as I see it.
inability to trust anything said by PGI which would counter above listed causes for apathy.
other stuff out there is way cooler.
flushing this title just clogs the bowl... it is going to have to rot itself out.

No improvement as far as netcode, ECM, and most importantly no updates on the METAGAME.

This Feedback is good. A lot of what I hear is the following:
  • ECM
  • Netcode
  • Streaks
  • Lack of content
  • No Community Warfare
  • matchmaking
  • Family Life
  • School

Then my next question, "Why do people keep playing after a month or so?" What's the draw?

I think the lack of fun matches and depth really has me down. I'm hoping that matchmaker will eventually work well enough to end the landslide/stomp prevalence so more matches will be hard-fought and fun, and I hope CW will be done well enough to add depth to cure the boredom.

The shallower aspects; goofing with different builds and setups have been slowed down by the current economy so I have to feel like I'm grinding 6-8 matches just to pay for a shiny new weapon to try out.

I've tried to get a couple friends to play, but they aren't interested, and I'm honest about the problems and learning curve to them, so I don't blame them for sticking with what they already play.

I think I'm just bored with what there is right now. I want more to mess around with, more viable choices, and more to get involved with. If they add more aspects to RP rather than simple PvP matches for bragging rights.. I will be sooo happy.

I don't have too many problems with glitches or severe aiming troubles, but having those things smoothed out to near perfection would be nice as well.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I still come back around patches and special events and odd occasions because I want to see what/if anything has improved, and for the chance of a fun couple of matches before it starts to feel "grindy" again.

Maps are too small and some maps are hard to move in, its too crowded.

Also one has to be a code S korean player with high apm in order to be a able to pilot any mechs, how i miss the mech warrior 2-4 controls and player friendly interface.

I'll admit that I hardly play as much as I used to. Without community warfare, I don't have much of a desire to fight. C Bills don't matter much to me as I'm happy with my current mechs, and I'm not very excited about unlocking efficiencies and whatnot. This is also why I'm not intent on joining a group, because there's no real incentive for me to win.
