It'll give a good taste for missile warfare after the Ballistics/energy focus of the Dragon. The other chassis in the range tend towards more a total missile focus (A1), or a Ballistic/Energy mix (K2). The C4 is 4M, 2E and a good compromise if you want both SRM & LRM capability. The C1 though has 4E,2M and has the greatest flexibility of the Cat range, and allows mounting of TAG with minimal sacrifice. All except the K2 have jump jets too, so a chance to try them out.
It's also slightly slower, which may show a bit a tendency towards quicker mechs, or whether you head the assault path.

Hmm on second thought.. you haven't played MWO unless you have played CPLTs. **** ravens, get a cat.
(oh you had cats in CB. **** cats, get a raven)

Please don't go the route of the 3L. It is for no skill noobs that depend on broken mechanics to not "suck" at this game.
Something tells me that you're better than that.

Then you're familiar with those. Let's see... Dragon, Catapult, Awesome. Seems to me you should go one of two ways:
-If you want to go more Dragon-like, then hit up either the Cataphract (not on your list though) or the Centurion.
-If you want to go more Cat/AWS-like, run Stalker.

imo it's not the best at making monies. If you want to solo pug and top the score board every game,(the ones you win), then you should either MBL SRM brawler or LRM boat for max cash. Cats work great for that.

Out of your list, I voted Catapult since it is the most interesting of the bunch though you mentioned doing it in CB ... so maybe it shouldn't be on the list? I have one of each of the mechs on the list except Centurion and Awesome. I've mastered Hunchback, Jenner and Catapult ... which is part of why I recommended the cat.
