Doesn't really matter since all it's gonna say is: "soon™", "it's in testing/design", "we talked about it/it was brought up at a meeting", or my personal favorite, "can't go into too much detail right now".

Even a, "Oh, man, we totally forgot: Don't worry, we'll get it to you tomorrow," or even a "No, the mod who closed that thread was mistaken: you'll get it on Friday," That would be more acceptable than utter and complete silence.

That certainly sounds like: "Directions!? I don't need no damned directions!? No! I will not pull over and ask!"

I think they could one up dashing your hopes.
When (read:if) the clans go live, they could release a promotional Hello Kitty skin for the Timber Wolf (Mad Cat) to go with it?
Then your hopes would be well and truly dashed!

Well, that's kind of what happens when you make big promises of long, essay-like responses to important questions, stress that the reason you're taking two whole weeks to do it is to ensure good responses, then totally and completely miss the date you promised the community, thus demonstrating, once again, that there's very little reason to put any faith whatsoever into what they tell you...

That first one should be "non-committal reply that effectively tells you nothing anyways." I doubt there would be an uproar if we got a real answer about something for a change.

Hey they made that bed. They created the attitude of the forums through actions or lack thereof. When you speak without actually saying anything it gets old real fast and people tend to get frustrated. When you claim to be listening and then repeatedly ignore the community, people get frustrated. When you say one thing and then do something opposite of that, people get frustrated.
