Very Simple Solution:

Make the Reactors go Nuclear with a Blast radius of Engine Size/5
And give it Damage not Engine Size /20 but Engine Size /2.

Then such a Mech would be... MULTIKILL.
As everyone would try to core the Atlas to let him go Nuclear.

And it would solve several Problems about Leghugging as well.

Oh please no, I don't want to deal with the suicidal "mech huggers" from MW4 anymore :)

It's the reason why I play with Splash Damage off. If there isn't rocket jumping, splash isn't fun/needed.

You can attack and kill the mechs on top no problem, they clip around a bit when the bottom mech moves, but they are still exactly where they show they are, so you can fire at them and kill them. its not super effective but its funny as hell to see

As far as I am informed, it is not an offense to ride on the shoulders of a comrade.
If it were you would have seen a lot of closed and deleted threads on the topic by now. ;)

However, this could change in the future.

Hey if only mechs could, you know, fall over, stuff like this wouldn't be possible, possibly by the introduction of some kind of...get this this, collision mechanic?.

It is all fun and games until the Devs secretly implement DFA physics and we start seeing massive team kills when a jump-capable 'mech lands on top of an ally and head-crits them ;)

Well first it's not "Mecha Shiva", it's called "Voltron ing".... What the frack is a Mecha Shiva...?? It looks nothing like "Shiva".

It's a Venture Brothers thing.

I think I started it, my bad.

I only really ask this question because in Mass Effect 3's multiplayer many of what people here would call "in game exploits" are welcomed by the developers as "creative use of in-game mechanics."

(For those that are familiar with the game, the whole "running with the delivery objective" and "reload canceling" exploits are considered a-OK, as by the dev's themselves, after MANY outcries over them from both sides of the line.)

So I just wanna know how PGi views the issue. Is it shame on us, or are we encouraged to be creative with the current in-game mechanics?

GO GO, stealth implement DFA!

When people try to do this and end up killing their team mate on the first attempt... Glorious!

IMHO it falls on the more innocent side of the spectrum, not worth a ban or even a warning.

They say "creative use" I hear "we dont want to fix this, it cost money you know. Speaking of that, have you see our new 5min of gaming per 15$ DLC ?"

Voltron'ing, Megazord, or Mecha Shiva; it gets the point across many age barriers. Still I find Mecha Shiva the most humorous given how it is presented in the Venture Bros. episode "Trial of the Monarch".

S!

Saw this piggyback riding today in one match. Spider jumped on an Atlas while the 3rd guy in his Hunchie propably took screenies walking around this "tower". Needless to say they got slaughtered in an instant by the incoming force thus were totally useless to the team effort. Annoying to put it mildly. Would be interesting if DFA would work though.

An atlas on a spider possible?

I don't see any mention in the code of conduct or terms of service regarding standing mechs on top of each other as a bannable offense.

I DO however see that it is against the terms to discuss disciplinary actions against other players.

There's this little thread of the MWO community that is so overly concerned with what other players are doing, like they're the goddam internet police or something.

Let me fill you all in on a little secret.... if people are exploiting something that is WRONG WITH THE GAME... in a GODDAM BETA.... they are doing their jobs as beta testers and you need to lay off.

Your next thread should be directed toward fixing the problem, rather then the people making it known.

There have been multiple threads showing the hilarity that one can create when stacking one mech upon another and wading into battle Voltron style. I myself would LOVE to try this (I have an Atlas, and 2 friends I play with have Catapults with JJ's), but before I go off an form the Megazord I'd like to hear a clear and definite "Yes, this is a banable exploit," or a "No, it's fine, knock yourself out with Mecha Shiva."

So, can I (or we as a playerbase) get a yay or nay from a dev?

My gut instinct is telling me that it's probably not a good thing to try, but with how quiet the dev's have been on it in the face of the several posts, images and hilarious videos posted showing it I'm genuinely curious.

Thanks in advance!

Edit:

The only Dev post I could find relating to this topic is this:

....You had me worried there for a sec.

Well now it's time for the players to whip out the BETA flag and waive it around.

Unless you are hacking the servers, no one at ******* all should be getting banned during beta for any ******* reason, nevermind a stupid one like this.

How is the an exploit? With the current state of collisions this is working as intended. I look forward to CW matches with mechs stacked as high as the sky.
