No plans for changes to the system itself, yes for tweaks and tuning. I think he thought the question was about making double jumps, or a different STYLE of jumping.

No offense, Garth, but isn't it your job to make sure he doesn't misunderstand things like that? Don't they let you vet these things, as you ought to?

Best Q&A thread yet.

Battlegrid updates are going to be killer, I use the existing controls all the time already and I cannot wait for more!

(Old time Allegiance player, they had some decent ones in that game).

Let's not have stats wipe with achievements, ok? It would be a hard hit for me because my stats were already wiped 2 or 3 times.

You said back then that going Open Beta will be the last stats wipe, turns out you were lying?

This is far beyond what was needed. The game as a whole is outstanding to me rigth now. It's been that way for a while, at times I was frustrated with some builds but all that came down to was learning and adapting to counter these builds. Playing WoW on a PVP server as a Warrior from vanilla to WoTLK on the alliance side of a horde dominate server will teach this.

AWESOME!!!

They're even thinking about pilot clothes... :D

The only answer that disappointed me was the one about the customizable cockpit screens... Would've liked "2015" as an answer instead of a simple "No."

Thanks! Wise answers for some tough questions. As result - there is no longer questions, just wait for the claimed features.

Little disapointed about DX11 and JJ, but maybe some day...

All whiners stick a sock in it. All you need to do is play, not CREATE the game.

To all the Collision/Lobby should be nr1 prio:

Lobby system will not be much different than dropping now (sync drops) if you play in groups already.
CW will offer the long needed and asked for system to get contracts, assault planets and fight against invasion. This includes the most benefits of playing with a lobby.
You know the UnitX will attack PlanetY, you take the contracts to defend planetY so you can get matches against the UnitX guys.
A Lobby would not change the gameplay, only make it easier to find a match compared to the metagame that CW will offer.

Collision (more so knockdown than the collision damage) is dependend on netcode fix which is NR1 prio.
So how can collision be higher prio when netcode is the reason it was removed in the first hand?

Well sync dropping is not sufficient at all neither for premades or for the poor PUG's .

But more important:

What do you think will happen, once a lobby or at least a drop invite thingy is live?

Right : MBO will reopen its gates, other leagues will reapear or new ones so while we are all waiting for the shiny ingame CW stuff, we could already have planetary fights and stuff fanmade by the comunity!

We could even have such a big BT-Planetary league, that allows to play attacks in TT, Megamek, MWTactics or MW:O even in Mechcommander or what ever battletech based game on earth to make it really interesting and to have the largest playerbase of BT leagues ever !

CW is one nice thing everyone waits for.... but it is not the only great community stuff, MW:O should support ( and better yesterday than tomorrow cause my PHP is getting rusty ;-) )

Even if it would only ease the pain of the netcode's light mech/streak issue or the ecm issue - since you will be able to manage your drop loadouts - It would be way worth the dev time!

Bright colors? Cool, I'll run a hot pink Atlas during Breast Cancer Awareness Month...

Thanks for all the answers. This gives me a lot to look forward to. May not like everything, but you can't possibly please everyone, and I like it a lot overall.

Great Q&A session. Thank you for answering a lot of questions that have been on our minds. I have some renewed faith that you will pull this off and that MW:O will turn out to be a fantastic game once it leaves Beta, and breathes new life into this very wonderful IP.

I'm a big supporter of this game. I think, given the resources PGI has, they are doing fine. Yes there are bugs and incomplete features, I'm content to wait it out and enjoy the game as I have it now. I've done development work in the past and that stuff is hard, really hard. PGI puts a lot of sweat and tears into this game and I respect that.

I'm excited about the direction the game is going and I'm looking forward to the new features.

I don't understand the greifers and trolls. If the game bugs someone that much I don't understand why they haven't moved on.

As for the great ECM debate, I'm fine with it as it is and I'm fine with any tweaks PGI tries. I don't think its OP, but I think it did change the game and forced me to be more tactical, which, I believe, is exactly what PGI is attempting here. This is a tactical team based game the current features and the roadmap make this very clear. I play both the RVN-3L and the AS7-D-DC but I also am a HBK pilot and ECM affects that. I simply adjusted my builds and I'm doing fine. In fact my game is improving right now with ECM affecting my targeting. When I'm not in an ECM mech, ECM is just something to adapt to and overcome. Sure it changed my LRM play, but I'm doing fine with that, and I have several builds that just ignore ECM all together.

So keep up the good work PGI, and I'll keep playing and kicking you guys some dough. I love this game.

If you think you are getting blasted in the forum and other places you should have been around for MW4. This is tame compared to that. The big whine was not being able to change weapons on mechs and you have given us that but tell everyone as the number of players increases and more are on line don't worry. Q. I have some idea of the end game is but will it be in some ways similar to 3025 in terms of showing on a map where the houses and clan stand? It would change 24/7. People all over the world would play. A server in Asia would be great south Korea love to play mech as well as many other in the same areas. tell IGN to shut up sit back and be patient because the money will really start rolling in when you go live.

Hey, awesome post, Bryan. I think this is exactly what everyone has been waiting for when it comes to Q and A. Thanks for spending all the time on this. You have restored my faith in dev communication =D

To be quite frank, this Q and A session was the same as all the rest. It only took one more week to answer a few more questions. Hell, some of the most important questions were either brushed to the side or ignored completely.

We got maybe a few questions answered with a paragraph. No essay quality answers were given and the only thing that came close was Brian's rant about negative, or what some would call constructive criticism, feedback.

This is a cool idea and I'd love to report TT and Megamek games for points on a galactic scale. When I played 40K I saw GW try something like this a few times. Sadly the reporting system was easily abused and rigged, resulting in poor results. For your idea to work, a lot of thought must be put into controlling abuse. (such as users making multiple accounts and swarming the reporting server with falsified match results)

ALSO ALSO - This is what happens when you take money off people and are perceived not to have delivered. Unless you're making cheese, "It'll be ready later in 2013" is scant consolation for someone who put money down in mid 2012 with a Christmas ETA on key features. If you want no obligations, ask no favours.....

No, this what happens when people really don't use the thing between their shoulders (and thats not directed specificly to you). It's understandable when people that bought a founders pack are disapointed because MWO didn't went the way they wanted it to go. But it lets them look pretty silly when they start to call the developers "idiots" because of it. Noone forced anyone to spend money on the game.

I need to requote this for truth.

I bought the founders pack, but I took the time to read about the road map and see where the game is going. I feel that at no time did PGI deceive me or disappoint me. I knew exactly what I was getting into because I read what PGI has stated about the direction of the game. They have never wavered from that road map, and they always stated that things can and do change in the design phase. I think people who were "disappointed" and felt deceived by PGI never bothered to read PGI's statements about the state of the game and its direction. They just saw Mechwarrior and threw down $30, $60, $120 with out blinking about it.

Personally, I think they have no right to complain. They had every opportunity to back out and get a refund, they got the premium button so they can choose when their account time is running. PGI's been very kind to the greifers and QQ'ing more so than I would have been.
