I played eve online, until I realized it was about changing skills then logging off to play something else.

This.....after i had learned the basics, gone through my misguided miner phase, done some combat and moved to 0.0 (rzr) i found that combat was rare. A few guys zipped around solo but i couldn't get in with them, and organized ops were almost always mining ops...so i'd just set my hulk up (good build that could tank the NPCs out there) and loaded up the Eve poker page and played poker with ISK the whole time. The one time i remember an organized combat op happening we ended up getting slaughtered at a gate because of an interdictor nobody could take down and i couldn't have been happier losing my ship, because i finally got in a friggin fight that involved something better than T1 frigs/cruisers/hulks. Got really tired of never blowing anything up and quit. Never gone back. Had a weak moment last week and thought about it...even looked up my accounts again to see which characters i had and where but the hope that i'd get into the MWO beta has kept me from spending money on EvE again ;)

I was hoping that MWO would be formatted similarly to Eve online. Or, I would love a merger of the two! A whole new type of MMO, where space, and dirt coexist in one bad *** MMO

you should check out the new set-up comeing from EveOnline... "Dust 514"... it's supposed to be that perfect blend of ground combat with the space combat... some dreadnaught player in orbit around the very planet that you're fight'n on, next thing you know, orbital bombardment occurs and begins head'n in your direction and into your combat zone... while in Eve, the Dreadnaught player is issuing his ship to begin the orbital bombardment. --at least, that's what the crossover videos are representing... it should be something close to that kind of duel-interaction of the player-worlds.

Pretty much a classic. If you like that one peeps, watch the 1st and 2nd Clarion Call videos (if not done so already).

I have been playing EVE for about 2 years. Amazing game requires a lot of patience and time. Always something different to try if your are willing to take risks. On semi-break for 4 months might dive back in if this beta doesn't workout.

I have been playing Eve for 6+ years, I love it and I hate it. The game is good, the way it is managed can be aweful. The new inventory system is crap and if we had Mittani back as CSM it would have been rolled back/fixed before release. This guy:

Lots of mech nerds are spaceship nerds, this forum is full of EVE people. (I'm one of them).

As he says, lots of Eve folks will be playing :) If you need anything in Eve, mail me in game and I will do what I can to give ya a hand, my char. name is same as here "Darius III"
I am VERY MUCH looking forward to MWO and hope to experience all facets of the gameplay. As CSM in Eve, I will surely bring players with me and have no qualms about +repping MWO if is it is good as it looks to be. Hope to see you guys in space and on the MWO battlefield-D3

I have been playing EVE since MW4 ended. So its been awhile. Its fun when you get in the right group of guys. But the game is full of politics. No big deal but gets boring. Took a break and contiune training.

I play BF3, EVE but nothing compares to when we played MW4.

DF3CT

I mine roids and love the taste.

If there was a grand strategic online game in the Btech universe I would play it in an instant and be a mech manufaturer.

I played Eve Online for 8 years, but after they made it pay to win I walked away. Some brilliant game innovations in it, abd I miss it, but I won't be going back.

Played back in 03 right after Earth & Beyond went belly up...Capt Zadius at your service, Pirate Hunter Extraordinaire....

Had the most awesome catch and Destroy Apoc setup...

Then Exodus nerfed many of the traits, I loved about the game, I tried again in 09, but phyck the silly chit....

There is nothing whatsoever "pay 2 win" about eve. What you smoking?

~ complaining about trading game time codes for in game currency in a forum for a F2P game that looks to have a real money option for most things ~

~ leans back ~

Immitation is the sinceriest form of flattery.

Anyway, I've played eve for about 5-6 years total, did some boring mindless crap in highsec, stopped playing because it was horrible. Had another look at the game a few years later and joined GoonSwarm, had a horribly great time winning the game, even helped FC cap ships for a bit when we took delve, lost delve, moved north and now I'm in a period of extremely low participation, but I just bought a super carrier last year so that's to be expected. Oh, and a new baby, but nbd there.

EVE is NOWHERE near dying, there is almost always constantly 40k to 50k people online during peak hours.
If anything, EVE is getting more popular.

I was part of FC before I sold my main account, was a lot of fun participating in the major ops that they had going on.
