Staunchly agree.
Improve the game, don't prevent features being put in because it upsets the way YOU like to play. Did you cry when they wanted to add ECM, too? Or is there some kind of difference that I'm not aware of?
Sorry, what?!
It's nothing to do with the way 'I', 'Them', 'You' want to play. It's to do with the fundamental fact that it will have a huge impact on how the game is viewed and played. Putting in a 3rd person PoV would be a huge advantage and make it a neccessity for everyone. You could never consider it to be optional as it just flat out wouldn't be.
Comparing it to ECM isn't even a valid comparison anyway, ECM can and arguably should have worked differently to how it has been implemented. 3rd person PoV doesn't share that. You can't balance around PoV's and that itself would break the game. ECM isn't game breaking, it's just irritating but can be fixed so we put up with it for now.
If they want to create seperate modes for 1st person and 3rd then yeah they can crack on, it just means we will get less content coz they'll have to deal with more graphic glitches and whatever other mess it will pop up. Not to mention a completely different set of complaints about how it affects playstyle and loadouts.
No thanks, they can keep their 3rd person, I'd want it simply for Screenshotting my mech so yeah in some kind of sandbox environment as others have said would be fine.
Pretending it's to help out new players is also pretty lame, there are a million ways to help new players without introducing a game splitting feature. That reasoning is just a massive cop out. I can deal with all the other stuff that goes wrong, or bugs, or breaks during the Beta. 3rd person is the only thing I've read that would just flat out **** me off!
