Interesting Idea. I already own all my dragons but I look forward to seeing what other sales come.

Everyone who is complaining about buying non-hero mechs for MC is missing the point of this sale. First of all busy people (like me) would be happy to trade a small amount of money to shave time off the grind so they can spend more of their free time playing the mech they want rather than grinding for cbills to buy that mech. Rather, this is the first in what I suspect are a wide range of "sales" and "price adjustments" for PGI to determine true market value for their various products most of which are heavily over priced (cosmetic items are particularly bad IMO). I also predict PGI will start selling some items in packs (color packs, chassis packs, bulk XP to GXP conversions) with a discount to test out those sales models without having to commit to a specific pricing. Remember, everyone loves a sale and everyone hates a price increase, so PGI started with high prices and will offer "sales" until they figure out the optimal price to maximize their profits. Then you will see them either set the prices there or 10-20% higher and offer near constant sales (bargain of the day, hourly special, etc) at the optimal price.

Just the opinion of someone who likes money more than is probably healthy.

So you don't have time to play but yet your going to spend real money a on mech that you don't have time to play?

Did I talk about me? I mentioned 'some people'...

And these 'some people' might have the time to play but not the time to grind.

Simple as that.

And no one is forced to spent real life money on anything.

You don't like the offer? Don't buy it. Why do you even care about it when it is not interesting for you?

Ok, changing the price on something took off ~28h man hours from the map development and another 20h from the 3D artists and 12h from the texture artists. Not to mention the 6 coders working on it. At least no netcoder was needed.

Yes, changing the price for the Dragons really broke the timetable...

But you'd have to be a total tool to buy a non-hero Dragon with MC.

So....... to either not slog thru grinding out to buy a DRG, or simply because we don't mind supporting PGI, that makes us tools? Interesting perspective there, Steve-O. I don't see me buying one that way, but why exactly would it make a person a "tool" to do so? (Just curious)

It only took three matches for me to rid myself of all doubts about it. Nothing like carrying a heavy payload and running at just shy of a hundred klicks an hour.
the 1N and 5N on the other hand...

A chassis that weighs 0 tons? ... No, wait, that would break canon.
Well, actually, you can fit 6 medium lasers on a full-armor cicada with an XL340 which speedtweaked runs 151km/h. And have two-ish tons leftover with endo-steel to fit two more medium lasers. Of course, heat would be nuts with just those 11DHS I can conceivably fit in that.

Yeah if you like the !C, then Flame is TOTALLY up your alley...... (I got mine dolled up as a 104 kph Grand Dragon..... might be the only thing I like more than my Speed Centurions)

dont want to troll you but..... really? mostof their load out is on 1 arm and my stalker eats dragons for lunch......and the only heavys i have issues with is the a1 srm cat (cheesy) or the dual ac5 dual uac5 ctfx dragon is by far the weakest hvy there is, that sale is so peoplewho bought the fang and flame can get a 3rd chassie for elites "my guess anyway"

Funny.. my Grand Dragon tends to eat slow, clumsy Stalkers for lunch (unless they are VERY well supported) as your ponderous turn rate and horrible fire arcs make you easy meat for anyone who knows how to drive a fast attack mech.

I have a lot of C-bills... no MC, and probably no chance, at least let there be a 5% discount for C-bills...

Wait.

Maybe if I have a lot of C-Bills, I don't need a new mech! I guess i'm good with a Hunchback HBK-45P.

Good, now I can use my c-bills to outfit the mech straight out of the gate instead of purchasing it with c-bills and having to save up even more c-bills to outfit it. Time to master the Dragon class.

Thanks but I don't spend MC on non-Hero mechs. Also 20% is not enough. 50% would have been better. How much MC for a new map?

I appreciate the opportunity to acquire these; Thanks! ;)
I also like the idea that now the opportunity exists that other sales in the future may afford opportunities to round out other Mech collections. (Ravens, mayhap?) B)

20% off C-Bill price would have been nice.

Yep. Taking it only off the MC price is rather desperate. Taking it off both would at least make it a useful, worthwhile "sale" for everyone who might want to pick up a Dragon. Especially since then the discount would be off the actual grind mechanic instead of just the pay-to-play mechanic.

Also, the 'mechs are already pretty high-priced in MC, arguably well beyond appeal given you can spend upwards of $15-20 to purchase and outfit one 'mech, where as entire games can be purchased for that price complete with all of the content in them.

Since you are forced to choose between a handful of fixed MC purchase prices, and can't just decide to spend whatever dollar amount you want on a sliding scale, a sale on MC isn't really going to make a big impact on someone who is already hesitant to buy one of the fixed price options and have left-over MC they don't really need or want at this time. If we could choose to drop any dollar amount for an equivalent in MC, it would make me more inclined to do so if there's a sale on all 'mech prices or something similar, so I am able to recognize the savings in real dollars by picking up just enough MC to puchase the sale-priced 'mech, vs not getting any of my money with the current pricing scheme.
