There's no debate in that wall of rant. Just TONS of ad hominem attacks and barely coherent frothing.

Like reading the politics threads on FARK.

Hmm..so, by taking the very statements he made on this thread and others and responding directly to those statements I'm making ad hom attacks? I don't think that word means what you think it means...

I responded to his statements in this thread, that's it, statements he made that he may well regret making now, but that doesn't change the fact that they are his statements and clearly show his view on how this game SHOULD work according to him. He doesn't accept the fact that Garth has more then once stated that premades are not doing what he claims, nor do you and others on your side of this issue. You are correct however, it's not a debate, you guys refuse to acknowledge the facts as presented by PGI/Garth, it's been said straight out that Garth is lying about the data and he couldn't possibly be telling the truth because YOUR side knows the truth.

I'll go back to enjoying the game, dropping solo and knowing that when I lose, it's probably my own fault. You guys keep on making excuses for why you lose and blaming everyone else.

Your opinion. You have to ignore HOW someone says, and read what they actually say.

What exactly did you say?

So far as I can read, the conversation basically went:

Me -- The game would be better if we just balanced premades on each side

You -- YOU JUST SUCK< LEARN TO PLAY

Not seeing a lot of reason to respond to that.

Try using quotes... guess what, you cant.

There's the thing, I've been incredibly consistent in what i've said... for months now. Put a premade on each side and the game is balanced.

No more, no less.

You on the other hand... yeah, not so consistent, or logical.

My god, it completely changed my view of MWO! I've been doing it wrong all along... apparently the key to enjoying this game is to join a group and exploit the advantage it grants you.

/DOH How could I be so blind.

My thanks to you Nomad, for such an insightful and illuminating post! You've changed the way I view this game and the world in general.

Again, sing it with me now brothers and sisters:

How does gameplay work?

MechWarrior Online puts MechWarriors into a first-person, team-based, tactical battlefield where the victors swim in the spoils of war and are rewarded with the almighty C-Bill (in-game currency).

Each team has 8 players and the two teams are pitted in combat in an enclosed battlefield. Communication is key, be it in-game chat, integrated C3, or a third party VOIP solution, keeping in constant communication with your teammates will drastically increase your team’s chances of success.

The various weight classes of BattleMechs help create their own evolving roles on the battlefield. Fast moving scouts can feed target and tactical information back to the main battle group and the team commander. This information allows the support and assault role pilots to decide where to put their resources to work. Long-range fire support and heavy hitting assault class Mechs will use this invaluable information to finish the job at hand. It is up to you, the pilot, to customize your BattleMech’s loadout and electronic systems to fulfill the role you want to take.

Seriously, is that all you've got? As you keep spewing up the same post over and over and over. Regardless to if it is in context or not.

Even worse, your post doesn't say a damned thing about what I am talking about.

I dont care if you have voice comms... have a @##$@$ing field day... enjoy... morse code each other if thats what floats your boat. I dont really give a ****.

Just balance the matches.

I don't think so, I think it's a great way to teach basic movement and strategy for a very complex game by eliminating some of the complication on my side, allowing me to focus on the movements of only 3 types of pieces vs. 6. Kind of like training wheels, only in reverse.

All right, granted on that point, I was carefull to make sure and include the words, "...but for a few exceptions..." because I knew that there were a few suggestions here and there that were along actual usable working solutions.

I totally agree that, that, would be a great thing for PGI to try and implement, and let's say that PGI agrees, and decides to do it.

Between now, and let's be optimistic, the next 8 weeks of development and testing before it's released to us, what are you and the other dedicated pugs going to do?

My recommendation: Play the game as intended.

Are you 12?

I don't actually mean that as an insult, I am trying to reconcile your lack of debating, or frankly, communication skills, with the COPA laws that would in fact make it illegal for you to be posting here.

Nevermind, apparently COPA was struck down... that explains it all...

Ok so now i see where youre coming from, playing a game intended as a team game in a team is an exploit and anyone who teams up is exploiting and obviously cheating.. Go find another game to play this one is designed to be played by exploiters errr i mean teams..

/sigh

Are we going down this road again?

Listen, even the lead designer of the gamer says that premades have an unfair advantage.

And you know what, I dont give a damn... I simply want the matchmaker to balance the advantaged across each side. Nothing more.

See, when I drop in this game, I drop with 7 other people, that I will call my "team". Until the game actually provides tools to become, well, more team like, this is the best you can expect.

This is very Important. Because there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting both sides to have the same amount of Premade/PUG. I will disagree with Serapth on whether comms is Unfair or not. But having an even mix of premade and PUG is a darn good MM goal.

Yet you refuse to acknowledge that there equal chance that if there is a premade on one side there is an Equal chance there is a premade on the other side, prove to me there isnt. Tools? there are plenty of tools out there, Vent, TS ohh but wait they are 3rd partyand SOOO hard to get, but i shouldnt need to go to that Great amount of effort you say, well mate dont go out into the real world and get a job or maybe a girlfriend cause your going to need a car that neither will provide for you so you can get to the job or pick her up for a date, make no effort at all that will get you places..

Serapth's main point is that he wants an even number of premades on each team i.e. if there is a group of 4 on one team the other team should also have a group of 4.

If you guys want to argue something please do it about this and stop attacking him directly.

Prove to me that there is.

Rest of your post is utter trash and an excellent example of Ad Hom attacks. Pay attention Kristov, this is how you should roll.

Against new players. That's what he said, say the whole quote, not just the part you like.

So, sure, good idea. Now... What will do you in the mean time? I'm guessing the most optimistic, 8 weeks. Will you stop playing, or are you going to continue to be miserable, or WILL YOU PLAY THE GAME AS INTENDED?
