The Ecm Feature: Aftermath

now that we had quite a while to get used to, and elaborate on ECM and its game play aspects, it would be very intersting to see how the general aftermath is.
When something is new to a game, it takes some while to settle. I think that time over.
How do you feel about ECM (see poll).
TheGarth Edit: A lot; 'alot' is not a word.

but overall ECM definitely makes the game more interesting (especially if I jump into my AS-D DC and can surprise the enemy myself

You must be looking at different ECM polls than me because most of the ones I've seen are 2 to 1 against ECM.

ECM works fine for a coordinated team over TS. I agree. The fact is not only does clans/premades/4-8man drops play this game, but so does a lot of pugs. If a device requires a coordinated team effort to neutralize, it is going to drive away a lot of pug players.
From the point of view of a pugger ECM killed communication and teamwork. Before ECM:
- I could relay targets to my team
- get my team to focus fire on a designated call letter. (it's quicker to type "focus on B" vs. "focus on Atlas on the left"
- team could use paperdoll to focus on weakened armor
- I always knew the location of my team is through minimap

i agree with StalaggtIKE, its made the pug-gameplay much worse. Scouting without tag is now nearly sensless, cause i cant get the info fast to my team. At the moment, i scout with my jenner (so no ecm), check where they are going, run to a hinding spot, and writing a novel to tell me team what i saw. This isnt realy great, especially if you get hunted after scouting --> no chance of intel-share, and if its a nice ECM-Raven, you are certainly dead before you are back to your team.
2nd bad point, with some introduction:
with the rest of lag-shild left its realy hard to hit a fast moving mech (140km/h) especially if you move at the same speed, therefore you got the nice (in my opinion to strong / easy to use) ssrm2, it hits about 90% the time (sometimes hit a rock or a edge of a building), nearly never lose you target (if you piloting a fast mech too, especially with the lock-duration-module) and can be shot out of the craziest angles.
Now to the point: ssrm2 is a strong weapon against light mechs. Its nullified by ecm, you cant even shoot it unguided, so to pilote a light mech except the two with ecm (Com-2D and Raven-3L) is realy problematic. I know this from both sides of view, i easy hunt down any light mech with ssrm-equiped-ECM-Comando/Raven and have a realy hard time trying to escape from them.
3rd bad point, but not realy important:
Narc got more useless, than it was before. Now its not only heavy, has ammo, hard to hit fastmoving targets and have a short lifetime. Now on top of it, it stops working if you targeted mech comes in ECM-range of his allies.

Would it be better as a module and not regular equipment?
Really, I wanna know

In MWO ECM does the job of 3 pieces of equipment for the price of one. Instead of one ECM module we should be seeing:
Guardian ECM
Angel ECM
Null Signature

No, it is just plain out of proportion. It should not be in the game at all, as it currently works.
