everyone knows ERLL, LL PPC ERPPC is the op weapons and A1 cant even fit any of it

Seriously, when are they going to address the raven 4x or Gun spider?

The other day I was playing in my Gigga Atlas and I was CT'd by a Cicada with MG's instantly after 2 shots.

The only reason the catapult it broken is that its cockpit isn't a super easy target. It's a support mech with a clear view for the purpose of ... WAIT FOR IT... Long range fire support. Do you know what kept it as that? An easily blasted cockpit.

It's not called the "Battering Ram" .. it needs to be very susceptible to any close range engagement from a mech that has weaponry above its torso. Removing this vulnerability has turned it into something else, in this case a freak of a mech where its most popular variant is as far from its original design purpose as could be.

The A1 in specific is borderline useless due to ECM being such a dominant force in the game. The k2 is insanely popular but even then its being used as a close range destroyer, completely abandoning its design role of a fire support mech. Due to the nature of MIN-MAX in online gaming the two in between variants have very little function compared to selecting the A1 pre ecm or the K2 post ecm.

Bleh.. this game frustrates me.

What I find the most annoying about this mech is it's small profile. The only mech (aside from raven 3Ls somewhat) I have trouble with 1 on 1 in my 4 srm6 2 MPL 1 ML Awesome 8R is the 6 srm6 (actually the dual AC/20 k-2 can be a problem as well sometimes but is easier to dodge fire from) A1 Cata. I bring down atlases MUCH quicker than the A1 unless the pilot is dumb and stays still for me to blow out one of it's torsos and/or arms at point blank. if they are lucky and can time their shot right the can ******* in half in one alpha and halve my damage, and despite being 15 tons heavier I feel like i do half of the damage i do to atlases because the face of the catapault is smaller and many of my missiles just miss the mech entirely if I am more than 100m away even with artemis.
Really it is a problem with missile hardpoints in general, because I feel they are the strongest hardpoint.( Don't believe me? try a 5 LRM 15+artemis stalker with Tag or the A1 srmapault.) I think they need to kick lrm damage to 1.5 and srm back to 2. Then they could work on making ECM more balanced without turning back into LRM online. This would also help deal with the SSRM problem as an SSRM2 launcher would lose a full point of damage.

Connor's build is another example of a common mistake in building a splatcat and one which you can exploit, namely that pilots often stuff their legs full of ammo and then strip the armour off them. So you just leg them and then laugh as the ammo explosion rips through their centre torso.
