Since patch, game is locking up from time to time. Usually as I click to fire multiple laser weapons. Alt-Tabbing, etc doesn't work, and if I'm lucky I can blind-kill the process in taskmanager, but mouse is inoperable as well as being able to see my desktop, etc. It's easiest to just log out of windows and then back in, but it's really annoying. Tried updating GeForce drivers, no luck. Seems at least a couple others are having similar issue.

Never had this exact issue prior to current patch.

game is @ max settings 1920x1080 w/ low motion blur

Win 8 x64, i7-3770k, Asus GTX 670 TOP, 16GB DDR3 2000, ASrock z77 Extreme4

in game is now frezzing up, 40% of the time. Have not had this problem for a few patches.


EDIT : deleted my cache folder, seems to fix it for me

My most recent game did that. Once again with the K2. It is no doubt the new menus, because it crashed as I tried to type in the post screen.

Going to try what the devs recommended.
Here is the response I got:
I recommend you to uninstall the game and delete everything that could remain from the previous installs of the patcher.
To do so, uninstall the game via the Control Panel then delete the following folders:
C:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online
C:\Users\*Your Windows Session’s ID*\AppData\Local\Package Cache
C:\Users\*Your Windows Session’s ID*\AppData\Local\TEMP\MechWarrior Online
(If some of the folders above does not exist, this is not a problem, please proceed to the next steps)
If you are using a wireless connection, please wire your computer to your router with an Ethernet Cable as it will help during the patching process.
Reboot your computer.
When rebooted, please close your anti-virus and firewall, download the new patcher available on our website (http://patcher.mwome...rriorOnline.exe), try again and let me know how it goes.

  • Where in the game or menus did the crash occur? in game
  • What steps had been taken prior to the crash occurring? running founders atlas with 2x er ppc using heat vision snipping on river city day
  • Does the crash re-occur for you if repeating those same steps? it happen twice in same mech on same map at about the same time after start about 2-3 min in.
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch? No set to Very High I do have a custom user.cfg
  • What are your System specs? win7 64 bit, i5-2500k @ 3.30Mhz, 16Gb ram, geforce gtx 570 1280Mb.

This has happened to me 3 times now so I'm posting. The screen just locks up indefinitely and it needs a trip into task manager to shut the game down.
  • Was any error message provided with the crash, if so, which? - No the screen just locks up
  • Where in the game or menus did the crash occur? - In Game
  • What steps had been taken prior to the crash occurring? - Start a game, all three crashes have happened at random intervals during a game
  • Does the crash re-occur for you if repeating those same steps? No
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch? 1920x1080 fullscreen and No
  • What are your System specs? i7 3770K, Nvidia 680, 8GB RAM, 64bit W7
Game was pretty much fine before this patch apart from the texture issue that happened frequently on Frozen City. I do have TS3 overlay enabled and if I had to point at anything for this crash it would probably be that. I'll turn it off and update the post.



-edit This has happened again with the TS3 overlay being turned off. Maybe worth a note is since I cleared my Shaders Cache in the game folders I have not had the missing textures issue on Frozen City.


There is no dump file in my USER folder but the OMICRON log does say the following:

Had total freezes 3 times since last patch, that's about as many as I had before last patch during all time played. In other words, huge increase in crashes.
Had to end process to quit game.
  • Was any error message provided with the crash, if so, which? - No. Just freeze.
  • Where in the game or menus did the crash occur? - In Game.
  • What steps had been taken prior to the crash occurring? - Just playing. All times has been a Raven 3L but that's the mech I mostly play so I don't know if it has anything to do with that.
  • Does the crash re-occur for you if repeating those same steps? Randomly - nothing that I can replicate.
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch? Medium, 1920x1080, not changed.

All times it's been total freezes while in-game; one directly after joining, one like 5 seconds into the match and one a long time into the match (like at least 5 minutes).

System specs:
Windows 7 64-bit
Intel Dualcore 3.16/2.83
8 GB RAM
AMD RADEON HD68x0 (I think 6870 but not sure and device manager doesn't say).
Play with mouse and keyboard.

Exact same specs and freezes that Stringburka has reported (except I play on Low settings). Prior to this patch the game was rock solid - now I'm getting freezes randomly while playing which require task manager -> End Program.

+1 To this. Game runs smoothly most of the time. 1 ouf of approx. 25 games the game completely locks up and has to be closed via task manager. Didn't have this bug before.

Updated: Happened now in 3 games in a row! FIX THIS ASAP PLZ!

I changed graphics settings to normal to be sure, but that freeze frame happend again. Only task manager was able to end the client. It again happend on frozen city.

Intel i7-2600 @ 3.4GHz

After the most recent patch I got the bug where the hud is basically missing. I could see and play the game fine, but I had no interface to identify targets, I could not switch to night vision or heat vision. Basically I could see the cockpit "windshield", the 3d terrain and all enemy and friendly mechs fine, but everything was missing. I've never had this issue before even though I've heard of it many times. Somebody told me to power up and power down the mech, but that didn't help. So far, it's only happened once.

No.

About half the time I choose to Quit the game entirely from the screen where you choose Mechlab, etc. The windowed black screen remains and I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del the choose Task Managaer and End Process on MWO from the list.

- What steps had been taken prior to the crash occurring?
I was on the windowed screen where you can choose Mechlab, Pilot Trees, etc. I woulc choose Menu then Quit.

- Does the crash re-occur for you if repeating those same steps?
Yes, about half the time.

- What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
Settings? No.

- What are your System specs? (You can include them in a [ spoiler] [ /spoiler])

My game is freezing during the matches, everything seems to be fine until it simply stops and nothing responds, then I have to Ctrl+alt+del out of it by closing the MWOClient process...

i5 2500k
8gb ddr3 @1600mhz
GTX 660Ti SC

Never had any issues before and since this patch i constantly crash at the begining of the round before the mech even powers up. I get no Error message besides "Mechwarrior online has stopped Responding" and then the client closes.

Anyone else having this problem?

May have had a bad patch install - try to do a fresh re-install of the game and let us know if it helps out.
