if you buy the 6500 MC for $29.95 package, 3000 MC = $13.82 of it. leaving $16.13 worth of MC (3500) to spend on other stuff

3000MC=
$11.99 with the $99.95 package
$12.49 with the $49.95 package
$13.82 with the $29.95 package
$14.95 with the $14.95 package

That's not the cost of Junior Mints and a drink then, is it? Flawed logic is flawed.

I believe most of these issues would be solvable by an update that offered single use colors as well, at a price similar to the single use skins.

The juxtaposition of how things were and are now is a shocking one.

Colors used to be the reasonably priced items and now skins are reasonably priced. And single use skins are (IMHO) wildly under-priced. Like that of the New Years items.

I think you would have a solid sales model on your hands if you were to reinstate single use color options at about the same cost of a single use skin currently, making it a trivial feeling purchase. One we would be liable to make again and again and again. And I would go as far as to say double the single use price of the skins. Because right now they are a trivial purchase.

Which will mean they are viewed trivially on the battle field and will only serve to devalue them, and therefore the game, as a whole. Especially if everybody has skins and no colors. Everybody knows when they are fighting a Founder mech. They are easily discernible. But I bet that most people who wanted to drop a good chunk of change to see if its worth it already have. I believe most gamers want to make 10 trivial purchases a month rather than see if their one non-trivial purchase will pan out.

Implulsive instant gratification is the name of the gamers game. Thats why giant stompy robots that shoot LASERS (the king of instant gratification weaponry) appeals to a lot of us anyway.

Thanks for the refund and the sales so that instead of my previous color schemes I now have something resembling the phranken pattern/colors on my atlas. It really is a pretty sweet deal for us who are helping you in Beta. But I really liked my old colors.

Maybe in the future you will be more specific about what is going to happen in possibly upsetting patches BEFORE you implement them. You can see what kind of feedback we provide instead of scrambling to justify actions (albeit unnecessarily) to your customer base.

Thanks for all you hard work

Basicly i like the new color system !

I like the 1 time buy and keeping forever option of colors .... no i did not buy premium colors yet

More important is the 1 time buy and useable on every mech i have and will have option

I wish i could buy and use camo like the same way ... for example buy " Woodland" and beeing able to use it on all mechs i have and will have .. for a reasonable price of corse
i think my personal limit would be arround 2500 -> giving easy and 4500 -> seriously thinking if i realy want it

one time use colors would be a great idea too

2 questions remain

1. any chance that the pc gamer camo will be available for all other mechs --- maybe for cash ?

2. will i get the colors of my founder camo as owned colors ?

Now that I have acquired quite a multitude of colors and a steep price .... it is soooo convienient and cool to be able to swap them around like I want, when I want and where I want for zero cost, nada. That's very good. And the colors are really great, too, we get all shades from camo to brilliant.

Just metallics, cream and other specialized effects missing. But I think we will see those in the years to come.

I now customize my paints almost as much as I play

Also, just to weigh in on this as well:
I also think paint jobs that were already paid for in real money should have been kept.
I spent real money for the MC. They refunded the MC spent, and then jacked the price.
That is **********.
I should not have to buy the same item twice for vastly different amounts.

This was handled poorly, and the pricing is almost total ****... except for single use pricing.

I can not express how upset I am that your company has now "retroactively" changed the prices on colors and paint schemes for mechs.

I specifically spent real world cash on my favorite mech paint schemes and i log in to find that i have been "refunded" my cost.

Here is the problem and why i will be contacting my credit card company for a chargeback:

the real money i spent previously was to purchase the paint schemes i liked.
After the "refund" i can no longer afford even ONE of the paint jobs i had previously purchased.

How can you commit fraud such as this?

How can the "refund" of 5 painted mechs result in not being able to afford EVEN ONE OF THE previous paint schemes?

I am sure that my Bank will agree based on the following legal information about internet purchases:

By law the cardholder has two years to file a dispute. Your sales can be reversible for two years... That means saving documentation for two years

Item Not Received
This is one of the most commons reason for chargebacks today. This happens when the customer did not receive the item which they paid for by credit card. As in the previous situations, the merchant is charged accordingly.

I want one of two things;

1, make my mechs look the way they did when i first purchased the paints with real money.
OR
2, i want my REAL WORLD cash back as your company has fraudulently changed prices retroactively, THEN instead of giving your customers their CASH back, you simply converted it to "in game money"

Its unbelievably that your company thinks it can get away with fraud such as this, are you aware that what your company did is CLEARLY FRAUD ?

If enough people contact for chargebacks your company will be unable to process ANY credit card transactions and will wither and die like it deserves when you treat paying customers with fraudualent business practises.

i will wait 3 days for your return email or message before i contact my bank.

Dearest PGI,

I am posting this post on behalf of the female MechWarrior Online community. I am posting this post to document a period of trolling we received from you starting February 05, 3050. Such conduct has caused me to suffer severe humiliation and embarrassment, emotional distress and physical discomfort particularly from flipping a table.

I am uncertain if the exclusion of a hot pink to the list of so many colours added with the most recent patch is intentional or if you just don't know which pinks to add. If it was in fact unintentional and you are unaware how poor the pinks added are, the juxtaposition of any of them next to the brightest of other colours will highlight where you have failed in your endeavour.

I would like to request that you cease and desist from your trolling as soon as possible and suggest that a suitable shade of pink be added to MechWarrior Online. Suitable shades include 'hot' and 'tickle me'. If you require assistance selecting a pink, I would be more than happy to personally assist.

I know this has been said by others, but

I want my Phranken painted mech back.

A single use Skin and a grandfathered single use color scheme would be awesome since the returned MC will not allow me to repaint my mech.

Lame, but BETA....I guess.

How many years before this game is out of BETA anyway?

EDIT..... I did use the sale for camo colors and one use Phranken and got my price down to 875. That might be cheaper, don't remember exactly what the price was before. I don't get the red, camo dark pink is closest, but I guess that isn't too bad since I can use the paint on other mechs.

Everything I have to say has been said already, I say it anyway though.

Untill now I have avoided paying MC for colors/ patterns because of their one time use status. I did make one purchase of a color but, I did that by mistake so. I kept it even though it wasn't the color I wanted. That being said I love that you can keep the colors and patterns forever. My issues are that they are at a price point that is still WAY TO HIGH. 3000 MC or $14.95 U.S. for three Premium/Phranken colors really?!?!?! 1250 MC or $6.95 U.S. for patterns would be fine if they were for all mechs not just for a single chassis type. The one time price for patterns IS where it should be though and I am strongly considering making a purchase.

"Forever". And that's just assuming they won't pull another jerk move on us again with a future change. I agree and think more people should push for 250-500 color pricing at least... And for mech's sake, implement Cbill & XP boosts, sell them as timed boosts, or 'by victory' boosts. So many other games do this and most players will not bat an eye at plopping down a couple of bucks here and there for said boosts, perhaps multiple times a week.

If you're the kind of player that knows you're only going to sit down and play for an hour or two, perhaps a 3 day boost won't suit you, but you'll likely plunk down some cash for a 4 win boost without thinking twice. Maybe you're going to have a weekend MWO marathon - 3 day boost, no problem!

Be reasonable with us and we'll happily throw money at you... but this is taking the p1ss. And that's coming from someone who wholeheartedly wants to support this game - I've thrown money at you, I've gotten the founders pack, just a few days ago I threw a bit more money into this game thinking "Ok, now i can buy a mech and unlock the phranken skin for one more of my mechs!" - DENIED.

This crap has really demotivated me (AND MY WALLET) with MWO. And that sucks, because as I said, I really want to support this game for the long run.

Liking the color system, but ouch. 1000MC for a paintjob?

250MC should be the MOST anyone should have to pay.

I have to say that I do like the direction that PGI has taken with this last patch on many fronts. I like how the patterns are for all the variants of the mech it was bought for. I also like the colors are permanent once you have bought them. Now for the downside IMO... While I appreciate the sale on the camo spec colors I am hoping this is a preview to a "round-robin" sale of all colors persay. However I have no idea of that will ever happen or if they are just giving people a chance to pick up a few colors before they all go to full price. With that said I spent the remaining 3200 MCs I had buying the woodland camo for my catapults and awesomes then bought the colors I liked within the camo spec sales. I thought about getting another MC package for $30 however I stopped myself as I have already spent over $120 on MCs and the value just isn't there for me at this time. I have 27 mechbays with only three of them empty and the cost to get camo patterns and premium colors is way too much IMO...

+ Camo patterns are really starting to shape up and look cool. I can't wait to see the new patterns
+ Love the color variations that are available.

- The cost is insane. I'm telling you right now all my Mechs are going to be base green unless I have so many C-Bills I don't know where to spend them all.
- Potentially having to pay TWICE for the same camo scheme on the same Mech is crazy. Paying 10 times the cost of the scheme to permanently unlock it is way too high.

* Here's what you could do to get me to spend money on customizing Mechs.
+ ALL colors are either free, or only cost C-Bills to unlock. 500,000 C-Bills to unlock a color is the most I think is truly reasonable. My normal match earnings are about 100,000, so that's 5 matches just to unlock a color. I still think free would be better.
+ At least 2-3 camo schemes should be free, or unlocked with C-Bills. I think 1,000,000 is about appropriate. Maybe have a really cool one unlockable at 2 or 3 million.
+ When purchased, all camo schemes should be unlocked permanently, and able to be applied however many times you wish.
+ I'm OK with camo schemes being unlocked on a per-chassis basis.
+ Real Money cost for a camo scheme unlock shouldn't get close to exceeding $2, depending on exchange rates.

* Where you SHOULD be making your money on customizations is on DECALS which I'm guessing you haven't implemented yet.
+ Look at any Battlemech art and you'll see unit numbers, warning symbols, clan insignia, company insignia, house insignia, and other stuff that's just cool, like graffiti saying "eat my PPC" or whatnot. You should implement a decal system whereby people can unlock decals with C-Bills and MC, and place them on the Mech for very small amounts of MC, like 10 MC per decal. If you provide players with enough decals to play with, they'll spend 50-100 MC to customize all the decals on the Mech.

In the meantime, I'll be spending my MC on Mechs and Membership bonuses... but I'm not spending money on color schemes.

My feedback:

Colors:

Pros:
Unlocking them for all the mech and reusable is a very nice addition.

Cons:
Colors are very expensive from my point of view, I'd drop the price of the premium ones to something between 300 and 500MC, and the premium colors should realy feel like premium, maybe Chrome color, metalic, shiny colors, fluorescent colors... At the moment, it looks like almost all the colors are stated as premium...

Then we could have some cheap MC color, priced from 125-250MC, I let you decide which ones would fit in this category

And the Basic one are too limited, only 6 colors buy-able with C-Bill, and 124 buy-able with MC only...

I'd also like to point that the Basic color aren't realy that Basic.

When we think about Basic colors, we think about Red, Blue,Green,Yellow,White and Black.

Camos:
Pros:
The single use is very affordable now.
Camos are now unlockable, but still not perfect, see cons.

Cons:
Unlocking Camo is a nice feature, the price is also Ok, but having the camo unlock only for the Mech Chasis type, does not justify the need of unlocking it. Because you are assuming that some one will change his camo more than 10 time on the same Mech Type.

The reality is that since new mech are implanted regularly, we tend to play a large variety of mech and of different Chassis type, so our unlocked patterns would just rot in uselessness.

Therefore people are more interested in buying the single use over the unlocking option.

I'd suggest that unlocking a patern would unlock it for the whole Mech Class (Light, Medium, Heavy or Assault).

I'm sure PGI will release a lot of camo paterns over the time, so making the unlock option more appealing , people would be more tempted to go with the unlock option rather than the single use.

People don't want to be ruined by buying colors, and PGI have to agree that putting colors into the game doesn't require a lot of Developpement time...

But on the other hand Camos requires some more attention since they have to fit with every mech. People would understand that it cost a bit more than colors. And if you want to have a good money flow, PGI would have to release patterns on a regular basis (Like League of Legends and their Alternate outfit for their champions).

That's my humble opinion.

So far I have bought
4 camo patterns (single use)(Phraken, only the camo, I've managed to have the same look with cheaper colors)
1 MC Color (Camo Light Grey)
1 CBill Color (Basic Blue)

I dont plan to unlock anymore color with the actual price range.

But I plan to buy more single use paterns for my futures mech, using my unlocked colors with it.

P.S.
The Phraken Camo is awesome, but I would have loved to have the color gifted with this special Camo (Like it is for the PC Gamer Camo).

After the initial sticker shock of the new paint pricing wore off, I decided to think about what I would consider fair. This is my own personal feedback and I'm sure other people will disagree (both + and -). I hope this feedback is of some use to the developers. I have no intention of spending any MC at the current pricing level. That's not a threat, it's just a fact.

Patterns, three pricing tiers
 • Free
 • Standard - 75 MC for single use, 200 MC to unlock single mech type, 1000 MC to unlock all mech types
 • Premium - 125 MC for single use, 350 MC to unlock single mech type, 1750 MC to unlock all mech types

Colors, four pricing tiers
 • Free
 • Basic - any number of C-bills. They are essentially free anyway.
 • Standard - 100 MC
 • Premium - 250 MC
Notice that I added an option to unlock a pattern for all mech types. This would be for any mech, include future releases. I believe that would offer enough value to be worth 1000+ MC. Anything else should be kept to a micro transaction. I almost recommended eliminating the single use pattern, but now that it's out there, it would be hard to take away.

Were we not supposed to be refunded MC? And what about Cbills we had already spent on basic colors?

Hekalite wins.

His logic makes sense. And under that pricing scheme I would easily spend $15 without agonizing or hesitating, as it would really feel like I was getting some value out of it, not to mention having more choice in the matter.

I really hope you guys are listening.

All the mech's i had painted, have all been reset back to green, and im loathed to buy all the colours again.
What's going on?

Hekalite has the right concept. I probably still wouldn't buy camo patterns for that much, but it would definitely be more tempting.

At present, I have too many 'Mechs to justify trying to buy camo patterns for all of them at per chassis costs.
