In MY experience (see, I can capitalize, too) as a mediocre player (I don't make any claims to greatness here), I have found that sometimes I would get 2 or 3 kills with a handful of assists as well. And other times I've rounded a hill or building and come face to face with 2 other heavies and an ECM Atlas, which gives me one Alpha (which likely won't drop any of them) and then I get gunned to pieces before my weapons recycle or I can get away. I've also found myself swarmed by lights, which is a painful death for just about anyone (though I've killed one with a luck shot before in such circumstances).
Good players will do good in just about any halfway decent machine. A good player will own face in a trial mech. A good player in a good mech should be difficult to stop. And I've seen several bad players get torn to shreds in good mechs, the only reason why they last long at all is because the quality of the mech does a little something to make up for their ineptitude.
But you see, of course if you blunder into several mechs, you die. A mech does not have to be literally invincible to be overpowered.
If we go by that metric, nothing in this game is OP ever, if ONE 65 ton mech takes 3 mechs focus firing to kill it before it can do significant damage, chances are it is too good.

This part is ******* stupid. So you get 2-3 kills regularly, or make a stupid mistake and get focused fired by 3 mechs as big or bigger than you?
Sounds overpowered as hell to me if jt takes 3 mechs and a bad move on your part not to get 3 kills.
Lol love that quantum and I said the exact same thing.

I'd love to know where I said "regularly". Please, show it to me. Oh, that's right, I use logical fallacies because you say I did, and then deliberately misrepresent me to prove it. Also, the 3-on-1 comment was just to illustrate how easy it is to get killed. You can get killed in a 3-on-1 in no time at all in any heavy or assault mech. You could be in an Atlas or a Stalker, the only difference would be that your heavier armor might let you live long enough for some of your weapons to recycle.

I said "sometimes". Reading comprehension fail.
Also, I never said it wasn't a good mech. Given the current environment, it is a good mech. Should it not stand to reason that a mediocre player in a good mech do better?
All of the arguments I've heard boil down to, "I suck and shouldn't have to face good players in good mechs," or boil down, "I'm great, but I should do crappy in a good mech."
It's a competitive game. If you don't have the skills, or don't want to drive a good machine, and then don't do well, YOU are the problem you are having. I don't whine when good players take me down. They have the reflexes, judgment, and experience to do so. I respect that. I do not try to take it away from them. I do not try to force them to play with a handicap. And even a mediocre player like me knows that dressing up a bad player in a good machine is a waste of a good machine.
So, go ahead. Cry. Cry all the way back to mamma. Me? I take my hits, accept my losses, and try to learn from them. I don't run around whining about people who have the audacity to use weapons and tactics that work.
Also, I'm not defending my "favorite" anything here. My two favorite mechs are my K2 'pult with 2 large lasers and 2 AC5s and my CN9-AL with 2 large and 2 medium lasers. And I do better, more consistently in those than I do with an SRMcat.

Im just going to say you have no idea what you are talking about.
It's pretty normal for me to 3-4 kills every match in A1. This is just when im pugging alone.
If i run my A1 in a premade that raises to 6+. I've had games where my comstar premade were joking about holding back and letting me just take out the entire enemy team on my own after i do 1500 dmg.
This isn't an outlier I think i'm a pretty good pilot when I can be bothered but the truth is I can't pull those kind of damage figures off regularly with out using the A1.
My second best mech is the 4X with quad AC-2 (16 DPS is nasty) and its good because I can chew cockpits off and smash high priority locations with accuracy at very high range. The A1 is a far far more dangerous mech though.

You are the one crying.
Those of us asking for the mech to be balanced are the people using it. Ergo we are not crying to mummy because we can't deal with the mech. We are trying to create a gaming environment where newbies wont be coming across mechs that slaughter them in two salvos often before they can even work out whats happened because nothing is going to kill this game faster than noobs getting popped off in a few seconds.
Have you even seen how bad it is when multiple A1s work together?
Even assaults die in just a few seconds when two A1s partner up never mind if there are more of them.

So, a good player in a good mech gets 3-4 kills while pugging? Me, a mediocre player, in the same kind of build gets 2-3 on a good drop. More often I get 1 with 3 assists.
So, I don't know what I'm talking about because players do better in good mechs, and good players do that much better?
How about instead of all this whining, you figure out how to reach out to the less skilled players and give them a hand up? Make your competition better and you will have better games. Unfortunately, a lot of gamers don't know how to do this. Instead, many choose to berate the less skilled players', insult their families, and make off color remarks about their sexuality.
Here's the solution I propose: Good Sportsmanship.
Sadly, I know it won't work, people are more interested in whining.

They have already nerfed heat sinks and buffed armor. Nerfed LRMs and Streaks. If you want the new players to have a fighting chance than what they should have is a tutorial area where they can become acclimated to the controls and quirks of the game mechanics.

Yes, I have. Obviously, teamwork is overpowered and should be nerfed.

Mostly because one can always get behind the assault, he can't have both in front of him unless they let it happen.
