I added all the 'Mechs in TRO: 3050, as well as a few bonus 'Mechs that were in service at the time. The Mad Cat is the cleche choice here, so I'm going to be cleche and choose it. There's a reason why it's appeared on so many Battletech products. It's a beautiful and unique design that always makes your think "BattleMech" and not "mecha". The D configuration is especially fun, matching head-capping ERPPCs with crit-finding SSRM-6s.

Timber Wolf, I usually have a custom config with 2 ER PPC's, 2 LRM 15's and a flamer in the CT.
I'd often pick the Timber Wolf A if there's no customs allowed.

The considerations I have when deciding what my favorite mech is might be a little silly, if not arbitrary. I choose based on aesthetic(maybe not so much an aesthetic, but an artfulness to the design), the character, and if I can imagine myself piloting it on a regular basis. Something I can identify with, much in the way that people now identify with their cars.

Also jump jets. So I pick

Thor/Summoner

That's a good solid mech, I've been playing the Summoner M for a bit to playtest a Somerset Strikers scenario a while back.

I really love Gargoyle. It has lack of weapons, and bad tactical abilities at all.
But it so big, ugly and terrifying, so I just want take it home :)
D*mn, can't post image, so use link to see best gargoyle art

There are those that squee over the Timberwolf. Then there are those that drive Mad Dog's and get the job done.

The primary config is a bit weak, but the A, D and E configs rock hard.

Viper all the way. Espcially the B varient. So many IS assaults brought down to this ugly, humble, amazing machine.

Long time Kit Fox fan. Favorite variants are the A and D. Decent speed, the only real drawback is the lack of jump jets.

Kriegsfalke (Warhawk)

Gargoyle & Timber Wolf close second.
I also like omni-mechs like Firemoth, Nova, Stormcrow, Ebon Jaguar, Hellbringer etc.

it has always been the Hellbringer for me, partly because I got the idea in my head that the prime config was
2 ERPPC
2 UAC5
1 SSRM6

with the acs and ppcs in the arms. I have no idea where this came from lol.

Timberwolf is a great trooper, Blackhawk would be my second choice.

It was a toss-up between the Mad Cat and the Thor. I went Thor.

I only voted for the Stormcrow thus far? D: How can no one love that machine? Especially the B variant with six ER Medium Lasers and an Ultra AC/20. Sure it runs a little hot, but that's not really a problem if you know what your doing.

Dire Wolf is my mech of choice. Nothing will put the fear in your enemy like that monster stomping toward you.

AS much as I love the Dire Wolf, it has to be the Timber Wolf for me.
