At first I was going for the Vulture/Bloodhound, but then I though "Ah, well, lots of people are going to pick that one", so I chose the Puma/Adder instead. Small, (relatively) fast, hits hard.

Storm Crow. Speed, armor, firepower, and one hell of a reach. And that is only the Prime; the variants only get more interesting. :)

More of a tabletop player, but Ice Ferret (Prime and D) followed closely by the Stormcrow (Prime) and Mad Dog (Prime, A, and D).

And no Kingfisher option? Most badass zombie in the clans!

Since the near-perfection of the Shadow Cat is not on the list, it's gotta be the Summoner. Timber Wolves may have the firepower, but you can't kill what you can't catch.

Stormcrow has a variant with an Ultra 20 and 6 medium lasers, all on a fast fully armored medium. Good stuff.

*** I hate to jump on the bandwagon, but the Timber Wolf's great weapon loadouts and its fearsome chassis really rock hard

I like the Cauldron-Born for its ability to hit hard, move reasonably quickly, and take plenty of damage. I just wish it could look up a bit more. Not so good with aerial attackers.

Turkina wasn't seen till the Battle of Tukayyid, two years after the invasion began, same as the Naga. Huntsman not till the Battle of Luthien, also in 3052.

This is a hard decision, I love both the Stormcrow and the Nova, but I think the Nova beats out the Stormcrow in base config due to the mobility gained by jump jets. I also like the lower profile, it can help a lot in a battle hid the mech or make it harder to strike.

Timber wolf gets an honorable mention, because it's hard to enhance perfection.

While I do love the Timberwolf especially the D variant (may kerensky have mercy on your sole if you fight against one) but the winner has to be the Ebon Jaguar. It's prime variant isn't very special, it's other loadouts are quite terrifying rivaling even assault mechs. The a and c come to mind. The a packs an amazing UAC20 a pair of ERLarges a pair of ERMediums and a few other weapons. While the C packs a pair of ERPPCs a few other weapons.

I prefer the warhawk. It can carry 4 er ppc and a target comp for extra fun.

Adder aka Puma all the way. That feeling when your enemy realises this tiny thing can actually destroy his much bigger mech, that's just priceless...

Kit fox, Mad Dog, Timber Wolf...all very beautiful. But the War Hawk is still the majestic number one in my heart :)

For me, I would have to give it to the old Warhawk (Masakari). While it may not be as pretty as the oft drooled upon Timberwolf, or as flashy as the Summoner or MadDog, it was the first Omnimech I ever mucked with (handed out by my GM during clan trials) back in the good old days of table-topping (before peeps were using MW:IV as the baseline for Battletech). That Primary config's 4 PPCs was just a slagging waiting to happen. And Config B's Targeting Comp, Gauss Rifle, NARC combo was nothing to slouch at either.

If I could have chosen two, the Nova (Black Hawk) would have definitely grabbed that spot. The primary's TEN medium lasers made it the perfect raider and scout lance deterrent. The Alpha Config's ER PPCs were a more than nasty punch for any IS Medium or Heavy mech jocks, and the Charlie Variant actually carried around a Gauss rifle!! XD.
