I'd love a blind stock mode - you choose your weight class, then randomly get assigned a 'Mech. Choosed medium? You might get a 4J Hunchback or you might get a 2A Cicada or a 9D Centurion.

They did something similar in MW4 with the Master trials.

I say yes under one condition, its just a button you press to enter the match. By pressing that button, it instantantly turns your mech stock temporarily and lets you play, then when its done you get turned back into your normal mech. God if I remember the actual stock armour loadouts...

Ya that's pretty much how it was for all the other MW games.

As long as I can have nothing to do with it, I see no problem.

I often daydream about the community warfare aspect. Like if supply lines are cut and players come to a situation where only stock mechs are available. There is something fun about being forced into a issued mech.

I'm under the impression that lore/plot wise that stock mechs are more common then customized mechs?

In the army, yes.
We're not playing the army.

And the game isn't about the army, but mercenaries. We're also in the era where they'd just regained the ability to fabricate new mechs.

Most mercenary modifications were made out of necessity -- many of them were hodge-podged junk 'Mechs pieced together with whatever they have at hand, not the super optimized builds we see here.

Even among mercenaries and house warriors owning their own mechs stocks are far more common than customs. Customizing your ride is not something the average mechwarrior really can afford much in the Battletech universe. Heck, some can barely afford to keep it in working condition at all.
