Hills are OP, use them while you can before they release a BulldozerMech that can nerf hills. (Oh, and don't trundle your Atlas across open Terrain without AMS, + the AMS of your Escort, all working in unison). Since all Mechs (except a couple spiders) can mount AMS, I suggest you get back into that grove.
didnt we have the "LRM issue" before? i mean seriously people need to use cover for LRMs and watch whats around them. i had an LRM stalker fire LRMs at me on River City in water, all i could do was laugh since his missiles hit the bridge support beams. But seriously groups equiped with AMS(no mechs ive seen carry it anymore) and using terrain to your advantage will pretty much leave LRM as effective as BB guns

my Catapult C1 has an ams, and if I ever work my way up to atlai (I prefer heavier/slower mechs) my DDC will have an AMS and ECM

but the reason no one uses AMS anymore is because ECM does it better...

LRMs never got "fixed". The problem with LRMs was only covered up by the dominance of ECM on the battlefield. Well, ECM is about to take a big hit. . . and once again the LRM boats will reap a deadly toll on everything else.
How We Got Here:
On the Feb 8 patch the heat fixes to the PPC allowed it to make a triumphant return to the battlefield. Its in widespread use again now.
On Feb 19, PPCs will now shut down ECM. Which means, AS7-D-DCs will largely become obsolete. They'll be hit with enough PPC fire that their ECM will be negated most of the time.
This leaves only the light mechs to carry the effective ECM systems.
What's Going to Happen on Feb 19:
... whine, whine, whine...
How many mechs do you see running around with ECM but alone (outside of PUGs)? The PPC fix will do *nothing* if people are running premades with multiple ECM mechs in the lance. When was the last time you saw a *single* ECM 3L or D-DC?
Now do the math. 5 second downtime, 3+ second recycle time. How many mechs can you keep locked down at once? Oh, right... One. The Wingman will still have an ECM bubble up and the mech will still be untargettable.
Whine all you want. I'll believe it when I see it and not until.
Even if they load up on Adv. Sensors and try to live at 250m targetting for themselves, what is their life expectancy? Or against 3Ls in the first place?

When you see a Bunnyhopping LRM Catapult.
Don't shot it, it won't do any harm to you.
And no i don't use the Tag, this is just my Laserpointer.. nothing else.
The Trick on using Tag and Target decay is, that you can keep most Mechs in perma lock when you play well.
On Forest Colony i am able to keep lock about 20 Seconds with this, without getting killed or anything else, even when the Enemy is in partial Cover, when i got a Missle Flightpath i am able to keep LRM/Tag lock.
It would be the same against PPC's. When you stay in the Open you are a feast for TAG+ LRM or PPC, you stay in cover you won't get much more LRM because you are in COVER... already... And i do that Bunny Jumping LRM shooting a lot and some DDC are amazed how i hit them with LRM...

welcome to canon! PPC's are supposed to emit a small EMP effect. scrambling electronics in the mech. i think it messing with ECM emitters is perfectly fine.

In order to get close to the lrmboat you of course have to get through basically the entire opposing team since the lrmboat of course is behind his teammates if he's not utterly stupid. So you have to fight while trying to dodge lrms at the same time, something that will of course pretty much seal your death sentence since the lrms are way too good at following you around unless you're hugging mountains constantly.

Well, couple ways around this.
One, use flanking maneuvers to get around the sides of the enemy force.
Two, be a light mech and just rush through them, secure in the knowledge that it's really hard to put down a light mech moving evasively at full speed.
Three, snipe the everloving **** out of anything that moves, and get behind cover before the LRMs land.
