No offense OP but if I took all the name-calling I've been subjected to online and could not look past the idiocy, I'd have my own personal rubber room at the local psych-ward.

In fact I know a few of you just called a bad name just now... Don't deny it.

:)

i was in a match to nights ago all the team were dead apart from me in my 3L and a jenny it was 2 v 6 3 heavies 3 assaults i managed to take out 4 they were in bad shape... anyway i died and then the jenny died 4 seconds after me and he said "bloodnor you suck" i said " oh how many kills do you have oh look none" and he logged off. i never call anyone within the game I'm a happy go lucky kinda guy.

the most i do is if i get a good kill i say "you should of done a barrel roll"

Edging ever closer to 3000 matches played, and yes I am often frustrated by some of my fellow team mates - most often of the pugging variant. But before I chew them out, I try to recall what it was like when I joined towards the end of closed beta. Having my behind handed to me while running into buildings and alpha striking the ground. Good times.

I also feel that having my "3-4 kills per match is nothing special" bubble deflated by me taking a wrong turn and eating a few PPC rounds serves me as a great reminder not to be abusive to other people. Most of us have some pretty awful matches behind and in front of us.

I stood motionless in front of him at a range of 20 meters, with my crosshair over his cockpit, and my finger over the trigger. "What did you say?", I typed. Before he could reply, I fired. "OMG WTF ARE YOU DOING?!", he asked.

I'll rage on teamspeak to my team if I see other mechs on my team that are doing....untactical things. However, I try and keep it to a minimum when actually typing to the person. Most of the time I let it be. Until ELO you are going to be dropping with people who may be their first time playing so I try to remember that. At most I will question an, unusual load out, especially when a slightly better one could have turn the times. For instance, and lrm boat cat with 4 flamers as back up, I mean, just put a med laser or two on there. Then you could have cored that bright orange CT :)

Almost every single person who says such things will never be in a position to prove their own words.

TL;DR: They are worse than you and dislike you proving that.

The very next game I did have the chance to rush the caldera and core one of those slanderous jerkwads! B* words and a who's the newb now!? were exchanged shortly after.. then the troll got all mr. macho mature and I laughed into the distance, screenshot in hand.

Not to defend anyone, but I've seen some TERRIBLE players from the spectator's seat, mostly because my poor Spider got torn apart because I was attempting to kill the Raven 3L that was running rampant while the rest of the team ignored it.

However, either make suggestions to their firing/playstyle/build in a non-douchey way, or keep your fingers off the keyboard IMO.

Critiquing is fine, simply being a mouthy tard is not.

There are poor players who are just not very good, usually because they are new. But then there are those who are just so bad that you think they must be doing it on purpose.

also, in some cases, the players that suck the most are only alive at the end cuz they stayed out of the fight to keep the paint from getting scratched, or "sniping" every 30 seconds from 55km away, not contributing firepower, armor and HP to the team pool, resulting in the "bad" players dying earlier for lack of proper support

I did my job so I was pelting my targets liken the guy I faced at then end .I stayed with my team mates the entire time . so no i didnt hide out

If you're bad, you're bad, and I'm not gonna sugarcoat it. The limited time I have to interact with any given pubbie in a match is very limited, and I'm not gonna waste robit shootan time to write out a formal essay on "how you could be a better pilot and stop being so bad".

Edit: "Support Class Mech" lol

I roll a c1 its support I think everyone would agree.

Btw in liked your post because you had time to repsond here . I won't take it personal in game

There are a lot of folks to take this whole "piloting big stompy Mechs" thing waaaay too seriously... The biggest thing to keep in mind my brother Mech pilot... we are here to have "fun". :)

Let the l33ts blather all they want...

I usually warn foolish people before they commit silly actions in the game. If they ignore the warning and do it anyway then they have earned a lecture a moment later when they're dead and we're a person down for no reason.

Conversely, if they do listen, stop what they're doing or let us in on the cunning plan, then they get praise and more motivated support from myself.

Rookies are more than welcome to learn the game, and I'm more than happy to help them, but they should also know when they've done something wrong.

I just type two words. If I have the time.
Busy. Fighting.
After that I ignore them, since I don't hear dead people.

Played a round earlier and I was last standing one of the last standing on my team. I'd been doing my job of peppering the enemy because I drive a support class mech. I admit I am working on my aim. I followed the group raining missiles on their targets and saw a cat like myself with out many lasers. I engaged a one on one with him. Players on my team began to tell me how bad I was. I did kill him just took a bit longer.

I so the question is why can't we give positive support when peopleddon't play the best. Keep in mind I did come in second on the score board and I wasn't hiding

because people understand negative reinforcement better. Don't suck so much :)

the surprising thing from this thread is how many people think that it is a measure of skill that one can stay alive longer (and/or do more damage) than someone else in battle (the classic, inane, moronic, "im alive and ur dead so ****")

there is no reason why the player who dies first on his team and/or has not done a lot of damage, has not actually been the best player on his team, and the last one alive is the worst

thinking anything other shows what bad players you all are :P (or at least, that you are fixated on the individual, not the team)

If the player dies first without anyone else engaging.. than he is by default, not the best player.

Good player = survives and does most damage in the most critical area of the match.

(Charging right into a fight is not a good player.. a GOOD player fights on his own terms.. in my case.. I like getting the first alpha strike from behind or the side to avoid as little damage in the exchange.. that option comes with patience.)

Just think of it this way, if they are spectating you it means they are already dead. Which means you are already better than them, as your still alive and fighting, if your loadout isn't the best or your aim isn't as good, your still fighting the fight while they watch.
