

Rage Post For Why I Hope They Never Ever Enforce No Groups In Randoms.

Caustic valley Assault- I'm in a K2.
Standard Assault pubbing strategy.. go up to the calderra and wait until you see what they're doing.
After not seeing them come up to the other side of the calderra I went and checked the 3 line to see if I could see anything.
Sure enough, two ECM atlases (which one can surmise; are not alone)
I type into chat "3 line"
After a few seconds, and praying it was just not lending itself to the obvious:
"THRREEEEEEE LINEEEEEEE>>>>>>>>>>"
Not ONE turn around.. they proceed to the other side of the calderra and start congregating around E5-E6.. I assume they're all fighting a mech (I hope.. for at least one shred of.. hope)
So I do make a lame attempt to run back to cap and hope to buy a little time until they learn to read or look at a map.. either/or..
Apparently it was at least 4 mechs on the base because they capped very very quickly.

If they ever enforce no groups of any kind in random games- they will lose anyone who (like me) can't stand losing a match because they're the only one in the match with literacy and sense.
Losing to a group because your team just wasn't as organized, I can handle.. losing to a group because your team can't read, look at a map, or figure out something is wrong because you haven't seen the enemy team yet is just ludicrous.
(8mans should stay against 8mans, but don't ever remove 4mans from random games.)

Whole team splits off in 8 directions.. (well, 7 plus mine, which was to go to a hill near our base and try to spot enemy)
Game lasted 4 minutes.
Least I got my mech back quickly.

If its been going on since before I started, december, somewhere around 6 months, opening of beta, and they have not changed it despite seeing the total population tanking for a spell, or perhaps up until now, I will assume it will never change. <-- run on sentence....
But im still playing. Just not as much. This is/was alot of it, but I cannot say that anymore. As I've kept improving, and learned to ID the situation and find workarounds, such as berrating my pubs until they respond, perhaps even shooting them until they act tactically, other times saying, im rambo this round since im boned anyways, or simply alt f4 im gonna go get pizza and come back later today. Ive come to terms with it. In a way, I like the uphill battle, but get aggravated by it all the same. I think what truely has me played out on mwo these days is a lack of new content. Ive seen and played pretty much all they have to offer. Other than romantisizing about triple uac5 Illyas, theres not much left to try that I havnt already driven.
TL DR: Get bent 4 mans, and Ill shoot you tomorrow. Just not as much as a month ago, bc its getting a tad stale.

Don't automatically blame premades for 1) you being bad or 2) your team being bad. Sounds like it was number 2 in this case... But some people should follow number 1.
Wait... How does this make you WANT there to be groups in randoms... What. I think a good balance would be matching the number of groups on each side, or having 2 4man teams in each side... That would be a lot better.

Make sure you or the other team is on the other end of the premade stomp? This is more fair than your allies not knowing what "3 line" means, or what to do with that information / counter? Perhaps you could be more specific? Lots of newer players won't know what it means, but if you have the time to type THREEEEEEE LINEEEEEEEEEEE ---------->" I bet you could've typed "Column of assaults coming from sector F3"
Not everyone is up to snuff on the lingo.
You will have people who are bad on your team until you climb out of the bad ELO area, which is most easily done by grouping, but can also be done by excelling as a solo player and strongly contributing to your team winning percentage.
I truthfully don't understand your answer to this. Is it something like "Since everyone on my team is going to suck, I'd rather be matched with a 4 man group vs a 4 man group" because that would still be pretty bad, but better than 4man group + 4 randoms vs 8 randoms, I guess.

As to the issue of groups. I have to disagree with the OP. My opion is the game would be much better served with 2man max groups for the random game drops. If you would like to play a higher group amount, then go play in the que that is designed for groups. Also PGI could implement a group mechanic similar to WOT(once the teams sizes get to 12v12 or 16v16), those players who purchase Premium Time could then run a 3man group. Thus giving people more reason to use premium time and making PGI money, while at the same time balancing out play for the solo players.
