Universal, Integrated Voice Chat Is Required To Make The Game Fair

There is no way to control for outside voice services like Teamspeak, skype, etc. The only way to make the game fair is to have universal, integrated voice chat. You can't take your hands off the controls of your mech to type in the middle of battle without committing almost certain suicide, so it's voice chat or run around randomly and get picked off.
Go ahead and survey players with high and low win rates, and you will see the pattern: Those who play with groups on VOIP have high rates of success, and those who play with pugs with no VOIP have high loss rates. It barely matters how good or bad you are at the game, this external factor is the single biggest determinant of how well you actually perform. For a single elimination team match, communication is the key, and without voice coms, this game doesn't allow that.
I also note that whenever we see ANYTHING official from the devs, they ALWAYS ARE ON VOIP. 100% of the time. Because they KNOW that the game cannot be played without it. I would love to see them do a live stream in separate rooms without any communication except text chat. But they won't because then they would get their ***** kicked the first time the enemy was on Skype, and have to admit there is a problem.
I am sorry I gave this company my founders money.

C3 is the work in progress one. It's uhhh, not very useful currently.

C3 does work and will be integrated in the game when it's ready.
TS or Teamspeak is the same thing right now and works great.
Remember BETA! Most features aren't in the game yet. If you want to join the ranks of the other players who have found that losing sucks, install TS 3.0 and start wining ans stop whining.

Teamspeak didn't save the people I played against earlier today.

Team work and communication can only do soo much for a pilots lack of piloting skill.

1) Pugs need integrated voice chat to compete with partial premades on teamspeak
2) Pugs need to be able to see eachothers loadouts in the same way that partial premades can tell eachother their loadouts.

I *do* want in-game voice chat, I think it is needed and will be a great benefit to the game, but I do not think it will be the panacea that you seem to be suggesting that it will be.

Why? Because I do not want to listen to 11 people who can scream and yell and play ****** music and be annoying kittenholes just because they have Voice coms.
You want to have coms? We already have a DERTH of options. All of them are better because they take the responsibility of good behavior and tie it into the server admins job.

Because if it's part of the game, it looks friendly and is good. If I have to go on the internet to manually download a movelist for all the characters, a tool to get it to accept my gamepad, another tool to make it playable, one more to crack it for online play in my region, an FPS limiter, and then put up with a forum that has a clear class split, then no.
I don't think I'll bother playing your game.

I am going to have it on mute, or disabled. I like to play alone sometimes and just shoot mechs. I don't care if we win or lose. I just wanna shoot some mechs; leave all that technically BS behind me and just shoot some mechs. ALL I WANT TO DO IS SHOOT SOME MECHS!!!
I'm part of a casual clan ATM and when I want to be a little more organized I can log on there and join them.
Adding voice chat to the game won't really do much. Who all has mics? Probably the serious gamers. Who all is going to use voice chat? Probably the serious gamers. Do you think a casual gamer who just wants to shoot some mechs for an hour or two really cares about who rushes tunnel, is going to call out targets, locations, etc etc? Doubt it.

Are you implying this game has kids playing, and not a ton of 30 year old men?

Too many times i've played games where the Devs hum and har about which option they will enforce when all they need to do is put it in the options menu. If theres two clear choices, give that choice to the player. dont pick one or the other and force it on everyone.

It doesnt matter how old they actually are, it matters how old they act. with that in mind, yes we have a LOT of 13-yr olds running around. Their voices might be deeper, but hey.

The best thing to do is get on TeamSpeak with some friends or people you know from other games that play MWO. Quality tactical voice comms, ftw.
If it's offered, it needs to be optional, as noted earlier.

Everyone said it would be a huge problem, but they refused... Oh how things change.
Sometimes I have to wonder if developers even play the game they make... Though to be fair, the game has improved significantly lately, and considering that they are implementing a built in VOIP it's another step in the right direction.
