I say no to bandit kingdoms. ;)

The Bandit kingdoms have been around before before the FRR and St. Ives. Why would you not want them as playable. Not now, in the future.

St Ives was created to protect Liao interests in the wake of a crumbling Confederation ruled by insane despots, and by virtue of it being a Liao state I can tollerate it being coloured green in order to simplify the Capellan/Davion boarder.

I fully support Candace and Liao reguardless of what colour St Ives is on the map.

A song for the St. Ives Compact and Free Rasalhague Republic from Iced Earth (HORROR SHOW 2001)

GHOST OF FREEDOM (********, Barlow)

EVERY TIME YOU THINK ABOUT IT
IT TEARS YOU UP INSIDE
YOU CURSE THE DAY YOR MOTHER
TOLD YOU; YOUR FATHER DIED
NOW YOU´RE ALWAYS SEARCHING
SEARCHING FOR THE REASON WHY I´VE GONE
BUT I WILL ALWAYS BE HERE
BY YOUR SIDE; THROUGH THE DARKEST NITE

HERE I´LL STAND ON THE FIRING LINE
HERE I´LL WALK THROUGH THE FIELD WHERE I DIED
I WILL FIGHT AND LET THE VOICE RING TRUE
I AM THE GHOST
STANDING NEXT TO YOU
EVERY NIGHT YOU GO TO SLEEP
YOU PRAY THE LORD MY SOUL TO KEEP
YOU DON´T KNOW I´VE NOT GONE AWAY
YOU SEE I WATCH OVER FIGHTING MEN
SO THEY CAN HAVE PEACE AGAIN
AND MAYBE SOMEDAY YOU WILL ALL BE FREE

HERE I´LL STAND ON THE FIRING LINE
HERE I´LL WALK THROUGH THE FIELD WHERE I DIED
I WILL FIGHT AND LET THE VOICE RING TRUE
I AM THE GHOST
STANDING NEXT TO YOU

YOU SPEAK TO ME
AND I FEEL YOUR PRIDE
ASSURING ME I´LL NEVER DIE
I WRITE MOTHER....
"HE´S HERE WITH ME...."
HE´S IN OUR MIND?S
HE´S IN OUR SOULS
OF SACRIFICE HIS STORY´S TOLD
HE HOLDS THE FLAME OF FREEDOM FOR ALL TO SEE

HERE I´LL STAND ON THE FIRING LINE
HERE I´LL WALK THROUGH THE FIELD WHERE I DIED
I WILL FIGHT OR DIE FOR LIBERTY
WITH THE GHOST STANDING NEXT TO ME

DON´T TREAD ON ME...LIVE FREE OR DIE!!!!
TO OUR FALLEN BROTHERS
YOU DIED TO KEEP US FREE
TO OUR FALLEN BROTHERS
WHO GAVE US LIBERTY!!!!
(Thank´s for this great song ;) )

As much as it would be cool, it's one of those things where if you allow it, then you need to allow all the other periphery states etc. Then again, they allow the FRR.

I also am not sure if right now the St. Ives is even independent.

FRR is actually much bigger both in territory/planets and playerbase.

That said i do think that St. Ives should be playable.

IRL I generally support all regionalist, separatist and secessionist movements. I dislike "great powers" because their power tends to be exercised over their own people too much without the possibility of retaliation and I believe the state should be just a provider of services to people.

And as I'm going to start as a Lone Wolf and perhaps join MercCorp before aligning with any faction, I also greet the multipolar Inner Sphere with diversity and competition on the mercenary market on part of the customers. MW4 Mercenaries clearly shows us the bonanza of contracts available to mercs after partition of the FedCom and creation of the Chaos March. So - long live to St Ives Compact, Rasalhague, Free Skye, Tikhonov Republic and any nation of the Inner Sphere or Periphery willing to become independent.

I am referring to the St.Ives Compact as a bandit kingdom. I could also refer to them as Federated Occupied Zone. Or Eastern-Capella.

And on a side not, as bandit kingdoms (the lore-wise ones) never conquer planets, I see no place for them in faction warfare.

If FRR is in, then St. Ives needs to be in. Period!

It's my opinion that St Ives is and always has been a Confederation Commonality. Facts can't be disputed with however and the fact is St Ives is independent in 3049. I don't hate them or see them as traitors, perhaps simply...misguided.

I'd like to see them playable if only for curiosity's sake and because I have a soft spot for smaller powers. ;)

I have high-standards bordering-on-fanatical Asian parents who I am not on good terms with. Yet, I still believe that the St. Ives Commonality does not deserve its own playable faction.

I like the idea of St. Ives as a playable faction, but as a Merc I must wonder why. Did House (Romano) Liao and House (Candace) Liao have any active raiding into each other's territories? Events in this time period that would allow for cross border skirmishes? I'd think that the situation between House (Romano) Liao and House Steiner-Davion would lend a kind of rough detente along the border...albeit an unrecognized one.

I think that there should be more factions than we have available right now, so all ideas are good.

I vote against making it a playable faction.

It doesn't have to be a simple part of the Confederation and even though I'd like to play with our St.Ives brothers, they seem to disagree.

Fact is, that you never attacked anyone and noone attacked you for a huge chunk of years. That makes you an unfitting nation that simply can't be made player accessible. Sorry. :D

I believe that you should be able to play as whatever faction holds space in the Inner Sphere/Clan Space. St. Ives Compact, Magistracy of Canopus, Outworlds Alliance, Taurian Concordat, Marian Hegemony, and others should be available, IMHO.

Personally, I'd be fighting for the Magistracy of Canopus or the Marian Hegemony if the minor powers were available...at least, until Clan Hell's Horses is available to players.

St. Ives is ConCap territory and will always belong to the ConCap, just as Northern Ireland will always be a part of Ireland...
St. Ives was the hopeless try to introduce a sattelite state ruled by Candance as the Davions realized that they would never have the power to
install her on Sians throne.
A non-sucession something born dead...

Does the FRR wind up absorbed? I am just now getting up to speed on the whole Clan bit (just about finished first Blood of Kerensky book) so my post-3029 history is weak.

My point being, someone mentioned St. Ive's falling to the CC around 3069, perhaps the devs have planned the history of MWO that far out. Many have speculated we will get some time dilation of the calendar, and so perhaps they don't want to have St. Ive's players wind up orphans....

The FRR ends up with 7 planets. They are known to have very nice Merc contracts.
